The women working there were so sweet and helpful. They even sold us a lamp that we weren't sure was even for sale! There is tons to look at and enjoy. Extremely reasonable prices too! Made in the Shade is BEYOND 5 STARS and such a unique adventure. There is literally something for everyone of every age. There are racks upon racks of gorgeous, unique clothes for the ladies with jewelry of all sorts to accompany your outfit. They have hats and scarfs and many, many other accessories. There are posters and knives and many other items for the men to busy themselves looking through while their wives shop the antiques and estate sale finds. You can find that one of a kind lamp or shade. It is hard to not fall in love with this store! They've got it all. The kids can enjoy the sluice outside while mining for stones and dad can enjoy a soda while sitting in the tranquil courtyard, relaxing, and visiting with the "store kitties". Everything man with a wife or a girlfriend knows shopping with be involved sooner or later. Well, Made In The Shade is a pretty neat store. Glenda and Reesa looked at every item on every shelf! And bought several items. There is enough variety to keep the men busy for a while. Ricky and I looked at concert posters all the way back to the 1960's. I found a picture of Johnny Cash giving the finger! Too funny! Some neat stuff. Ricky bought a hat for his gardening. It was kind of BIG! Lol There is a side courtyard that is decorated for Halloween right now. It's really neat. A small stage for live music. If you end up in Jefferson, go here! read more

What an interesting place. Full of sensory inventory and you can't exhaust it in one visit. You want unique? They got it. Fun, funky, nostalgic and variety. Very creative owners.
