I was still in search of souvenirs to take back home to family members and ended up here because I remembered seeing it earlier in the week. I had high hopes for finding shirts or at least magnets and my hopes were dashed once I showed up. The shirt selection is low, I found a few that I wanted to grab, but the sizes available are all over the place and not usually for the shirt that you want. I was here to purchase shirts for my nieces and nephew and let's just say that my nephew was plumb out of luck. I did browse for myself a bit and decided to not grab anything after all. I do appreciate a store that features items made in state, it's a great concept, but I would have like to have seen a bigger selection for sizes. I'm thinking that most sales here are of people from out of state that don't have means to go elsewhere. read more

This Made In Oregon store is located in the lower level of the Pioneer Place Mall in downtown Portland. There are eight other locations of Made In Oregon stores. This store is spacious, neat and well organized. The merchandise at this location seems geared more towards tourists than locals. They carry beautiful Pendleton merchandise, chocolates by Moonstruck, souvenir items like T-shirts and magnets, soaps and lotions, wine and food items and much more. Everything is nicely displayed. The salesperson who assisted me was pleasant. I didn't notice the usual abundance of sport fan merchandise that other Made In Oregon stores carry. There was some jewelry but not the selection that I found at their airport store. There was very little of the PDX carpet merchandise. This place had a little something for everyone in my family. I was pretty much able to knock everyone off of my list. Which ranged from nephews, co workers, friends, and family. The cashier was also courteous enough to extra bubble wrap my sea salt saying they were packaged in glass containers and they could break. I thought it was nice since it didn't even occur to me that they were glass and how disappointed I wouldve been if I shoved them in my carry on and they broke on the way home. What's not to love about a store specializing all things about the place you are visiting or living in? I was able to get some pretty unique refrigerator magnets for my coworkers at the main work site (in New Orleans, LA) who had never visited Portland. Even when I lived in Oregon full time, I would shop here for gifts for those who were out of town, and family. The location of this Made in Oregon store is on the bottom level of Pioneer Place, the level below where you enter, joining the two buildings together. Cell phone reception was spotty so by the time the YELP page loaded, I had already left the store, so I didn't realize they had a check-in offer of chocolate until I was on my way out. The staff are awesome. I had left my wallet with my ID in it, and they held it until the next day when I was able to return, and had me describe my wallet in order to be able to claim it. That is awesome. There are tons of unique gifts here, and they also have an assortment of Harry and David items, which is great since Harry and David are located in Oregon. Wines, beers, jellies, clothing, sports ball gear, even the major universities are represented well with what you can buy here. Plenty of Pendleton Wool products as well! read more

This space is located on the lower level of the Pioneer Place Mall and is a great place to get your souvenir fix. The place is big, well organized and has a solid selection of trinkets, jewelry, jams and jellies, stationery, wine, food, magnets, key chains, chocolates and other candies, candles, art, t-shirts, soaps, lotions, and so on. I did not get to the one in the airport to see if there was a significant difference between locations, but this one was very nice and not junky in the slightest. Made in Oregon is one of those places you go to buy last minute gifts for friends and family because you were either too busy, picky, or lazy when you had the chance in Town. However, PDX gives you a little more choice as there's a Powell's across the Hall, a Pendleton next door, and some nice shops on the public side of PDX. I have also been lucky, as I come up to Portland often and love exploring the various neighbourhoods for things new and different. It's my small contribution in Keeping Portland Weird. Made in Oregon has nice stuff and the absence of sales tax adds some incentive. I'm partial to the myrtlewood items and the wine and beer selection. For my first time in Oregon, I tagged along with my friend. She's been to Oregon, specifically Portland, for about 6 times now. Since it was my first time in Portland, I wanted to do all of the tourist things. I wanted to go to a souvenir shop, so my friend suggested checking out Made in Oregon. This location is found inside of the mall. It is a cute, little souvenir shop. Everything Oregon is pretty much found in this souvenir shop. I checked in on Yelp to get a free chocolate bar! The free ones were mainly dark chocolate, but there are a couple milk chocolate bars. This souvenir shop is probably what you expect. From postcards to printed graphic tees. I really wanted an Oregon t-shirt, but I honestly couldn't find one that I really liked or saw myself wearing. The cashier, or maybe even store owner? He was super nice. Overall, I recommend this souvenir shop if you are looking to buy something from Oregon. Whenever I am in a new place, I love checking out the souvenir shops. read more

Great selection of items that are ALL made in Oregon... wine, food, soaps, lotions, etc. It was great cuz I'd seen things that I might want to buy at local shops but didn't have time to go back to them later and they had them here! Prices seem fair for most part - did seem marked up a bit form the local shop price but for the convenience of having it all under one roof I felt it was worth it. I used to love this place. My last order was placed the last week of August 2020 for delivery to the East Coast. BE AWARE that MIO offers shipping options that are NOT suitable to the gift basket you select. Meaning ... too slow! IF a basket will not arrive in good enough time with 3-Day Air then don't offer it. IF a basket must go overnight, ONLY offer that, etc. Help us who are not familiar with shipping edible gifts. More importantly, they had a data breach sometime 'between the first week of Feb. 2020 and the last week of August 2020.' I make very few online purchases - on average about 1 purchase per quarter. Needless to say, the same credit card I used for my MIO gift basket was used to fraudulently purchase $200+ in Orbitz travel arrangements during the first few days of September 2020. read more

Pre Pandemic, I have stopped in at this Made In Oregon store on many different occasions. Previously, I purchased Wine in a Can (it was sparkling Rose'), Reusable Straws (I still own those), and trinkets or tchotchkes for my younger brother. There were some nice hair clips (they were barrette style), earrings, nail files, and bars of soap... but I didn't purchase any of those at that time. There were plenty of Tourists shopping for items as well. Mostly they were looking for smaller Souvenirs to take back to their friends and family in their suitcases and travel bags. I did notice that there were lots of Silicone Mugs, and Taller Cups... (most of them were rainbow hued or tie dye). There were many styles of Ceramic Coffee Mugs to choose from as well. Of course, I purchased some Hazelnut lip balm for my Darling Husband. I was looking for a certain kind of Chocolate.... which I was told was all Sold Out. Sometimes, there are people who are looking for Sweatshirts or T Shirts that state Portland Oregon on them... and I did see plenty of those during my previous visits. Maybe, I'll purchase one for my daughter. After all, she has liked Portland since she was born. There weren't that many items which feature the Tilikum Crossing - Bridge of the People (that's the Bridge that is Earthquake proof). There are many reasons to shop at this Made In Oregon store... besides the items for Tourists as well. One, they will have many items in stock at a reasonable price all year round. Two, some of the staff are knowledgeable about where the items you are looking for are located - this is helpful if you have only a little bit of time to shop. This is a great store for this time of year, It is surprisingly big and full. Especially if you consider that it is all made right here in Oregon. Made in Oregon has been around for a long time. They don't seem to have as many stores as they used to. Much of what they carry is hard to find anywhere else. The downside is that because they have been around so long, The formula is set, So they tend to carry the same items or at least the same kinds of items they always have. Visit Made Here in Portland to see what I mean. They do have lots of kinds of stuff, food, cloths, decorations...the list goes on. The prices are usually a bit higher then you might find elsewhere. But they have done the finding for you. Consider it a finders fee. It is nice to have such a big selection of items and prices to choose from. The staff is friendly and helpful, they happily help you put a gift box together and suggest items... I suggest this store for tourists and people like me who shop for people who are out of state. How do you work at a souvenir store and be the least friendly people in Portland? Their selection in the store is great but the staff is some of the worst that I have come across. They don't even acknowledge your presence let alone offer to help. Don't know why they have such shitty attitudes. I loved Portland and encountered friendly people everywhere we went. The staff here broke that streak. If you hate your job that much, work somewhere else. And it wasn't just one person that was rude/unfriendly...it was ALL the employees. I'm a tourist; I fall for all the tourist shops and I love it. Is there anything wrong with that? As the name suggests, Made in Oregon is a gift shop in Oregon that basically has all the cool naturey, hipstery, and Oregonionery stuff you will find in this wonderful state. From interesting looking shot glasses to intense puzzles, this store lives and breathes Oregon. In terms of the selection, this place has all the goodies you will need for your friends back home, or even yourself. Pick up a postcard for 50c or leave with an Oregonian wood cutting board for about $20. I came by this store a number of times and ending up leaving with gifts and souvenirs each time. As for the service, the employees are generally very friendly and nice. Unlike most shops, the ones here are very approachable and helpful. There's not much else to say about this store. Sure this is a souvenir touristy place but I shouldn't feel that ripped off coming here. Enticed by the free chocolate offer by checking in, I bought some tea for friends as gifts. Of note while walking around the store: Hot sauces priced $1.50 more than the exact bottle from a farmer's market ($9 at farmers market) we went to earlier in the day Moonstruck chocolate priced $1-2 more than the exact same pieces at the moonstruck chocolate retail store 50 feet away ($15 vs $16) Tao of tea priced $1.95 more than the exact container of tea at the teahouse inside lan su garden (only $5 at the teahouse)...which I visited 30 minutes later. Dammit. "Sale" items aren't much cheaper. Honestly this store probably gets wholesale prices and shouldn't be charging 40% more than what the makers of the product charge. Go elsewhere so you dont carry a dumb bag emblazoned with "made in oregon" to advertise to pickpockets that you're a tourist. read more

I inadvertently made a mistake by putting the wrong delivery address on my on-line order. Figured it out within a day and sent an email to customer service (Kara). After being told there was nothing they could do and to call the carrier only to have the carrier tell me only the shipping company could make destination changes Made in Oregon finally (3 days) said they could make the change. But they wanted to charge me $25 to change the address plus the additional freight. Under the circumstances I felt $25 was exorbitant just to electronically change an address. Really felt like salt on the wound and I declined. All in all I would say the customer service experience was wanting...very wanting. read more

This store is actually in the mall, I believe on the bottom floor close to H&M. Yes the prices might seem a little high, but this is not your typical cheap/miC/just-switch-the city-on-the-hoodie supply you get everywhere else. You'll actually find some unique items here and a good selection of them. Although in-store shopping may be great, if you place multiple on-line gift orders, there is no way to designate the date you want the gifts shipped. When one minute after placing the order, I called customer service for help, they informed me that there was no way they could change the date or cancel the order.
