I had a great experience working with Kevin at Madboxx. I needed a replacement pinball part printed that's no longer in production and had a model file. He helped educate me about appropriate material to use as well as the proper print techniques to get a strong part. Communication was great and I was able to get my parts printed in a very timely manner. Very easy to do business with and a great experience. Communication is key and Kevin nailed it. read more

If I could rate Madboxx Designs 10 stars I would! I am beyond satisfied with my 3D design. Kevin assisted with helping me create my idea literally from scratch. I was kept informed during the whole printing process and shipped was very fast. I would definitely recommend you use Madboxx for all your 3D printing needs ! read more

From the Business

Specialties

We’re a small business that started up during the Covid pandemic. Additive manufacturing was just a hobby then, but we decided that we should use our hobby to help. So we started making face shields out of clear 2 liter bottles and printed frames with elastic headbands. We distributed approx 300 to the local hospital and Hagerstown area volunteer fire departments and ems. After that our name got around pretty quickly and the sky has been limit ever since. Because of customer orders we’ve expanded our workshop to 29 printers, a laser cutter, a CNC machine, and a vacuum form. Right now the business consists of my wife and I but due to orders and the need for rapid expansion we may be adding employees very soon,

History

Established in 2020.

This adventure started when a friend bought a 3D printer and after about a year decided it was not for him and asked me if I wanted to give it a shot. Years later, here we are.

However, when I engaged him again for the second phase, he suggested that we go around Upwork to save on the transaction fees. I thought since the price was much smaller, and given our history, I could trust him. This is when my nightmare started. A few weeks into the engagement, Alex started to give me reasons on why the project started to slide behind schedule. He asked my to front the cost of the project to over his expenses. I had to explain to my colleagues why this was sliding behind schedule, I started to feel that I had to lie to defend the guy who I am paying. A few weeks later, he had asked for my address to ship the final product, I was ecstatic despite being weeks behind schedule. Then bad became worse... He stopped responding to emails, texts, voice mails, Facebook messages. I am guessing he will never return my payment, nor the components I shipped him for the project. Please, save yourself the trouble and find someone honest.
