I like ordering items home as I work home. During the pandemic, I had good experiences with Macy's. However, I found out that Macys and its credit card service are going rogue. I want to share my recent hassle with Macys. I ordered makeup items and found one of two items was already broken; the other one, Lancôme foundation, did not work. I guess I like Lancôme skincare's and never had problems. This was my first return to Macys. If you plan to order from Macys, think twice and don't order anything you are not sure to keep. I return in July and the credit card never reflect my return. So, I don't have items yet credit keeps pushing me to pay minimum out of the entire order. I am thinking Macys is doing on purpose. The cashier in the women's swim department found my mom's phone and tried to keep it. When I arrived 15 minutes later to retrieve the phone, she denied being in possession of it. I called the phone and heard it ringing, and the lady continued to deny having a phone or hearing the phone as it was ringing. Long story short, I got my phone back and called mall security. I went in to take advantage of Labor Day Savings. I was shocked and appalled at the poor customer service at what used to be a very high end retail store. The sales staff had no knowlage of any of the brands they sold, were not interested in selling any of the merchandise and were very poorly dressed. I was embarassed for them. I worked at Robinsons in Horton plaza in the '8os and they would have made people change before going onto the floor if they had shown up dressed like that. I asked for a manager and was told "We don't have one" Wallmart has more helpfull employees and if there is indeed a manager of this store I think they are failing at thier job quite badly. read more

Melanie at Women's shoe department is very unprofessional. My-Linh was helping me and because there was a 30% off ticketed price on the shoe I asked her if I get the 30% off on top of it if use my Macy's card and Melanie came in like she was going to attack me all mad saying "you can't get 60% off you know you only get 30% off". I didn't ask for 60% off lol. She was very rude in front of other customers and she's not even the one who was helping me. She obviously doesn't know about good customer service. We had a great experience trying & finding a gown for my mother for my wedding day! The store had a big selection of formal gowns/event gowns. The section was organized. I just wish the fitting room by the women's gown section was nicer with a bigger doorway for people walking in & out. But the sweet attendant in the fitting room was awesome. She gave my mom tips on how to hold the dress & walk, so we had a nice experience with her. I wish I got her name, but she was on the shorter-side, African American, and i believe had glasses. He totally listened to what I wanted, worked through size and color options, and made me feel confident that I left with exactly the right clothes for me. Macy's.. an oldie and a goodie when it comes to department stores! In Fashion Valley Mall there is a bridge that connects the parking garage to Macy's which is convenient when parked across the way. On my recent trip I was helped by *Carl* who was friendly and gave me good service. He was smiley and efficient on my return item which was nice with no hassle at all and a simple process! I would definitely recommend Macy's for everything and anything in between as they have something just about for everyone along with perks of their Macy's card which offers coupons and offers all the time. It's only fair I write an update as I had really good service yesterday. Once again I ventured into the shoe department of Macy's since they had a great sale. I was immediately greeted by one of the customer service rep. He took my name and the request for several pairs of shoes. He was back rather quickly which surprised me compared to prior visits. He was quick, efficient and always able to assist. This particular Macy's did not have the size I wanted. However my customer service person was willing to order the shoes for me on line and have them delivered to the shoe. I opted to have him give me a print out of all the locations that had the shoes in my size. In the end I decided to place an order on line of which I received the days special 25% friends and family discount in addition to using my Plenti points. Worst overseas customer service ever! I ordered items on a wedding registry. One of the items, pyrex dishes, was delivered broken. The shipper sent it back. Macy's made me buy another set and said they would refund me for the broken set after having sent a new set and a gift card to the wedding party recipient! So embarrassing and such a hassle for the recipient and for me. I spent another 2 hours, not even kidding, trying to get a refund. Unbelievable! Was refused a refund saying it was over 30 days! wtf??? Then after further yelling on my part, yep I am over it! They finally said they would issue a refund to my card and cancel the gift card. They actually asked me for the gift card number! Seriously?? I am not asking the bride and groom to give me the gift card number. So ignorant on Macy's part. I will NEVER shop there online again. EVER!!! Really not even banking on ever seeing a refund. I will likely have to go into the store in order to try to get a refund. Super unnecessary waste of my time and everyone elses. I am leaving this review to highlight an Employee who really went above and beyond the call of duty! Maurice in the men's department was AMAZING. Helped my boyfriend and I pick out a suit for a few weddings we have coming up. He pointed out that we had accidentally mix matched a suit and helped us find the right match. He also fit/measured my bf, recommended a tailor, found us a complimentary shirt and tie! We will be going back specifically to get more shirt and tie recommendations from Maurice. This Macy's is large and conveniently located in the center of Fashion Valley. Unfortunately, customer service is really wanting at this location. You'll spend years waiting to be attended (jewelry/beauty counters) and upon doing so, the employees are rude! This is the first Macy's where I have felt compelled to adversely review customer service. I understand being extremely busy due to a high volume of customers, but that does not justify laziness and a bitter attitude! If you can, you're much better off at the Grossmont location! I love Clinique products. However today was exceptional. I was helped by a very personable lady behind the Clinque counter name Alyaa. She took the time and effort to explain her products. She never lost patience when I asked her to repeat. I'm usually skeptical when the deal sounds too good to be true. I typically ask for clarifications or give out more questions than people care for. I only needed to get their facial foundation. I was surprised that I would be getting a great deal on the price of that foundation, compared to Sephora or ULTA. Yippee. Additionally, there is currently a promotion for 2 gift sets (valued over $200) for only $42. I love value and I always appreciate when I'm informed. I came in like 2 weeks ago to buy a ring, the lady by the name Nancy H helped me out. At first she was super nice and friendly! I had to get my ring resize so she said I should buy the 3 years warranty just to incase if I need to resize it again or cleaning.. blah blah! So I bought it then I asked her "how long does it take to resize it?" She said "2 WEEKS! We will call you or text you." My husband said "oh 2 weeks is fast!" Then 2 weeks came I called her and asked if my ring came in cause I didn't get a call or text. She said "ooh no honey it's 4 weeks it just got send out on the 30th of October." I was like "ha? I bought the ring on 26th and it just got send out on the 30th and you said 2 weeks not 4!" She said "I will never tell you it's 2 weeks." Lies!!!!!!! I wanted to go off on her but no! I called her manager and told her all about it and she was so nice to rush it for me. 2 days later I got a called from Macy's that my ring is ready for pick up. I was coming back to make an exchange a couple items that were gifted to me and I had the pleasure of being helped by Alyssa. She had great product knowledge and helped assist me in making the appropriate size changes with the few pants! I don't always shop at Macy's for their full priced items even though they do offer a large selection of clothing brands, furniture, and home good items. I do however always make sure to check out their sale/last act items in the hopes of picking up a great deal on things I do know I need. I've walked out with amazing items that originally sold for a hefty price and only cost me a couple of dollars!! Insane! The building and decor of the store seems a little old, but it's definitely worth stepping inside just to take a look around. Tons of makeup and jewelry options at this particular location too! I had the worst encounter today with my mother in law & step son on the 3rd floor, womens department [dresses]. The cashiers name is Kimmy, she was incredibly rude and was even expressing herself about how long her day was. I totally understand about working in retail, I've been there years ago but, we were checking out around 8pm and it was not busy at this time. My mother in law went to purchase the dress as kimmy was the one assisting. The dress had slight damage around the bottom zipper part and we asked to see if we could get a discount, being that this is the last dress in her size. Kimmy replies "were you the one who made this?" She already had a bad attitude just by approaching her at the cash register! Then, kimmy says "she doesn't know how to discount it, go to another register!" My mother in law asks of she can call a manager or anyone to assist, and the girl says "no, everyone is busy or on break!" So my mother in law just paid it. I was upset and we went to another register, and kimmy so happens to have migrated there and was with lelah, another worker. Lelah at least knew what she was doing & had kimmy return the dress and properly showed her what to do.. wth? Kimmy then gives us attitude and a freakin lecture on how her day has been long, be kind to her since its been a long day and said she isnt rude, that is her normal tone. I dont give a damn, but dont go off on us and vent your problems. You just made more work doe yourself and didnt even call or try to find a solution. She complained about her job to customers. The worse experience ever. Im calling managment and updating this review as much as possible until she gets proper training on customer service. read more

I debated giving this pace two stars. The service was terrible. There were only two people staffing the entire jewelry and watch counter and one employee straight up walked away without a reason and didn't come back. When I did finally get service the woman couldn't find a box of the item I bought. Their inventory was disorganized and messy. I ended up going to get dinner so she could find the box before I returned. That said the prices were low and it was worth the utter chaos for the product. On a Friday night I would expect adequate staffing and would encourage the management to better staff their store. Shop here at your own risk. It is a sad sad Macy's in a high end mall. I usually come here for their sales/clearance section, which is a huuuuuuge corner full of goodies. But beware, you will most definitely get an extreme arm workout from spreading those racks of clothes apart, looking for the best piece of clothing at a fraction of the price. I like Macy's because they have good quality clothes, and they have tons of brands to choose from. Some brands you may recognize includes Nike, Free People, INC, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Levis, and much more! There's tons of brand that I don't know either but still good quality. It's one of those one stop shops that carry everything from clothes, shoes, beauty, jewelry, fragrants, household items, and more! There's a little something here for everybody! read more
