wow. My ancient 2007 iMac desk top suddenly conked out after a power cut shortage, not a spark of power. I took it to Apple; they said the parts needed for this issue were obsolete and sent me to Melrose Mac! They said exactly the same thing and sent me to MacPro. I arrived feeling a little distraught, immediately I was put at ease by their helpful and confident manner that this was not an issue to fix. Ray, the owner, not only called me back the next day with a fair price, but fixed it one day later. When I came to pick it up, upon seeing my power cable cord was not an Apple brand - Ray gladly handed me an Apple one free of charge - how often does that happen!!! Super nice, authentic guy. So I bought a used Mac off of Craigslist, and i seriously regret buying it. I should have made business with Ray instead. i took him my Mac and he knows his Macs. I asked Ray how long has he worked with Macs and he told me 13. He was nice and straight to the point. He wasn't nagging at all which was awesome. He is very HONEST!!! These guys were the best! Dropped my computer and completely shattered my computer screen - was devastated. Found these guys on Yelp and dropped it off at 11am on a Friday morning. Called me by 4:30pm to say it was fixed. They had given me a loaner in the meantime and had transferred my hard drive, so I didn't lose any time or work. I wasn't able to pick up my computer that day or Saturday, but they had no problem letting me hold on to the loaner. Finally made it back over there on Sunday and picked up my computer good as new. Hopefully I'll refrain from dropping my computer and won't have to go back anytime soon, but would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needed repair service. read more

My 1+ year old Macbook Pro started displaying the spinning beach ball occasionally, then frequently, then non-stop; it quickly got to the point where it wouldn't even start. Found Pro-LA here on Yelp, they were in the area so I walked over one afternoon and gave my Mac to Chris at 2, Ray called at 3 and said HD cable, I said GO. It was fixed by 6 the same day for a reasonable price (and the diagnostic/estimate was Free, I'm used to paying $25-65 for that at other places). I mentioned that I'd repaired/reinstalled the OS more than once trying to fix it myself, they spent more time checking that everything was still there and working well. I'd give them another star if I could - quick, low-key, friendly, professional, reasonably priced - and that's not easy to find anymore. Mac problems? Go to Pro-LA, nowhere else. My mid-2010 27 inch iMac was increasingly getting a black screen needed to be rebooted up to 10 times before working - until the next incident. I spoke with Ray who sent an excellent technician to my home the very same day and after some analysis concluded that rather than needing a new hard drive, as I had thought, it needed to have the video card replaced. Taking the iMac back to his store and ordering the right part, this was done promptly and I was not charged until the iMac was completely fixed and set up back at my home.
