Ray and his team are seriously awesome. They have fixed my cracked phone screen a number of times and all went seamlessly. I took my computer in to get a new battery and a couple of days later it crapped out on me. I kind of thought it had something to do withy the battery so I took it back. They told me that the battery was fine but the hard drive was on its last limbs. They gave me a free diagnostic - took a look at it and got it back into running shape free of charge. I accidentally spilled water on my MacBook Pro and Ray was as helpful as possible. He tried his best to save the computer, he was honest about the cost and the diagnosis was free! Also, even if they get the needed parts to repair your computer, he won't charge you unless they fix it! While my computer was just too expensive to try and repair (I was better off just getting a new MacBook), Ray was able to save the memory!!! The total cost landed a little over $200, but ALL of my data was recovered and he did all he could to try and save the computer ---so TOTALLY worth it! I came here because of the ranting yelp reviews besides the fact that I live a block away from the joint. Well i was not disappointed at all. I was greeted right away by the owner Ray (Really cool mellow guy). I had a problem with my CD drive as it was making all kinds of noise when I put any CD in and wouldn't read my discs. He told me right away that it could be my CD drive but to make sure he would do a diagnostic for free. I understand this as I'm a mechanic for cars and to be sure you always have to run certain tests just to be sure of the problem and to properly diagnose the issue. I dropped off my computer at around 5:30 pm and they close at 7:00pm. He said there would be a chance if it was the CD rom drive that he could most likely finish the repair before they close. I was so excited to hear that and crossed my fingers hoping it would be the CD drive. He also mentioned that he stocks the part. I gave him all my information and took off. An hour later at 6:30pm he called me and said it was the CD drive and that my lab top was done. WOW!! These guys are the shit I said to myself. I went over in a heartbeat and picked it up and happily paid for the repair which was $149.00. I was so happy with the service I just had to get on the computer and write the review. My CD rom drive works like a charm again and I couldn't be any happier. Thank you Ray and his crew. I bought a refurbished macbook pro and the first one I got had some issues. He ended up giving me a different computer and upgraded me for free. Great service. Brought my laptop in today for repair (fans were going bad) and Ray broke things down for me as clearly as possible. I initially brought my laptop to another repair shop on Melrose but they told me that it took 2-3 days JUST to get the assessment, not counting repair. That wasn't going to work for me since I need to work on-site tomorrow and needed my computer back asap. Even though this shop is a little further from where I live, I went in for a consultation; I dropped my laptop off at 10:45am this morning and got it back by the end of the day. My MacBook Air display was not working. I brought it in and he asked me what the price was at the Apple store to fix it. I told him and he told me it was a better price at the Mac store. When I explained I needed an important Word file off my hard drive, he made several attempts to get the file. He finally got it off my hard drive within an hour and did not charge me for the service, even though I asked to pay for the time involved. He said they are a neighborhood store and would rather I tell people about the great service. So, here I am on Yelp, making sure that other Mac users know that you'll get quality service here. There is no other place in town I will go to... or send my friends to. Having been a customer since they opened, the service and help only gets better with time. I just sent a friend to Mac Pro-LA. His dog had knocked a glass of water onto the keyboard and after clicking the "On" button fried it. They called me asking for Ray's number. The laptop was not able to be repaired. Apple had said the same. Here is where Mac Pro is amazing. Showing him a new laptop that was in his price range. Saving "all the data" transferring it to the new box. Really extraordinarily happy with the service at MacPro-LA! Our hard drive was going kaput on our iMac. We took it first to the Apple store. They said they couldn't recover the data themselves but suggested that we go to an authorized Mac dealer to have them do it. Sooo, I went to Best Buy... because they were close & I thought I'd give them a shot at it first in case it was just a super easy job. Well, they thought they could recover it, but after having it a day they called me to say they could only get about 25% of the data off of it. Yech! So, then I followed the Apple tech's advice and searched for a certified Mac repair person. I found MacPro-LA via a web search and decided to give them a try after reading all of the positive Yelp reviews about them. So, MacPro-LA not only recovered 100% of my data for me, but also installed my new HD and upgraded my operating system to the newest one it could take. (It's about a circa 2009 computer). Overall they just made it like a nearly newish computer again! I'm really quite happy. Ray was the gentleman I dealt with there. He was very kind, no condescending like you get from some techs - he couldn't have been nicer! He gave me a few good tips on how to back-up my computer in the future - which I'm still working on following. Kind of contemplating the possibility of doing an online backup in the future rather than or in addition to an external HD... not sure yet. (The external HD I'd had for back-up was kaput also.) I was overall even very content with the cost for all of this. It wasn't free by any means... but what we had in the end was a workable computer with a new operating system and no longer sluggish as hell (from the HD that had been dying for over a year). In totality... an excellent experience. I'm going to try and get a dead tablet into their hands & see if they can do anything with that. Would use these guys again in a heartbeat... Just hope I won't be needing them for this computer for a while! ;-)) read more

Ray aka Ramzan set me up with the purchase of a 27" iMac after repairing my external hard drive that was damaged and needed to have iphoto and itunes libraries recovered. He not only successfully recovered the files, but installed the files onto the 27 iMac, saving me the additional purchase of another hard drive. I originally saw the 27" imac on Craigslist which led me to read and re read all of the 5 star reviews on Yelp. The reviews are consistently 5 star reviews, unheard of and questionable, but I can truly vouch for their knowledge and recommendations to their customers without any hard selling attitude. Go into the store and see for yourself the selection of Apple products that have enticing prices to fit your budget. Then go do your own research, and after weighing the 3 month warranty that comes with a purchase, you can feel confident that they will be there for you even after that warranty ends. Take your Mac here. The dudes that run this place are mad chill and super friendly and knowledgeable. My track pad was busted and my battery was dead and they fixed it up good as new.
