I broke my screen due to a bead left on the keyboard which I didn't notice, I then closed it really hard causing it to shatter. I was pretty upset because I only had it for 2 weeks. Looking around MacPro had the best price. I dropped it off early and even though they were really busy I got it back the same day. When I got my computer back not only did my screen look BETTER than it did before I broke it, they also gave me a free sleeve for my computer. I Went to Europe and it completely defaulted & I was stuck without a computer. Came back and they gave me a new one saying it was worth at the moment $2,000 - as they where sorry for my experience. I have an eight-year-old iMac which seemingly died. I went to Apple at the Grove and they said they didn't have any parts. I went to Melrose Mac and they said they didn't have any parts. Both said the computer is too old. Melrose Mac recommended I go to Mac Pro LA. So I did. When I told him the issue and what had transpired at the other places the fellow there was very adamant and said they were idiots because all the iMac needed was a video card which they had and which they could install. Apple and Melrose Mac just wanted to sell me new equipment and were not interested in providing me the same excellent service that Mac Pro LA gives. Got my iMac back in two days good as new. My laptop suffered some accidental water damage in my work bag. The Genius Bar didn't have any available appointments for days, and I wanted to get the water out ASAP, so I came here on a Friday morning. Ray met me curbside so that I wouldn't have to come in. He told me he'd open the laptop up, clean it out, and give me a quote at no cost. I didn't have high hopes at all, but Ray called me on Monday to let me know that he'd taken care of it and the laptop was up and running. He didn't even charge me anything for this! I wanted this place to be great. When you are inside the store they are attentive and kind. But that doesnt help that my problem was never solved or appropriately addressed. My mac wouldnt turn on, and i asked should i buy a new one or try to fix this current (old) one. They said for a few hundred they would replace the batter and clean it up. I picked it up and the computer would only hold a charge for 30minutes. When i got it back over there they said, whoops. the battery must be bad. lets try a new one. The new one didnt hold a charge either. A third visit showed that the cable was probably part of the problem, but they would call me as soon as they located a better battery. And i said, in when? about 2 months? and they laughed, and said - no no, probably just a few weeks. Radio Silence. Its been months. better communication could have sold everything here. read more

He knew almost instantly what was wrong with my laptop and even suggested I send it to Apple and they would fix it for free. This is the place to take your macbook if you get liquid damage. Jeremy has been really helpful, took my computer apart quickly to see how bad the damage was and while unfortunately my situation is worse case and nothing can be saved, he has really tried to work with me to consider most economical ways to fix it. I have appreciated their flexibility and diagnosing the problem at no charge. They really know what they're doing, don't take your computer with damage to places that just fix broken screens or phones, no matter how good the reviews. Chances are they don't know how to fix these issues and can make it worse. read more

Last week I was distraught when I dropped my MacBook Pro and found that the computer screen was completely black when I turned it on. I took it to the Apple Store Genius Bar the next day and the guy who worked with me told me it would cost $475 before taxes to get a new screen. All he did was hook my computer up to a monitor and without doing a diagnostic or opening my laptop made the determination I would need to purchase a new screen. He also told me that after they opened my laptop for the screen repair there was a possibility of finding further damages that would cost even more. I just felt they didn't do all the could to make the proper determination of what was wrong with my laptop. I ended up coming across MacPro-LA on Yelp and I'm so happy I did. After seeing the overwhelming amount of positive reviews for MacPro-LA I stopped by and Ray the owner was super helpful. He took my laptop to the back to open it up and within 5 minutes fixed a cord that was loose and my laptop was back to normal. Took my new mac book here to fix liquid damage. They quoted me a price of $800 to repair it. When I said no thanks I didn't want to spend that much they asked me how much can you spend? They told me it would cost more than that at Apple. I finally took it in to Apple and they repaired it for free under warranty. Ray is the quintessential mom and pop honest and good business person in a world dominated by 21st century technology. I could imagine him being the perfect cobbler in a sleepy town in a Barcelona outskirt, where he knows everyone's name in the village, where people travel several days by boat just for the opportunity to experience Ray's craftsmanship and excellence. Ironically, as I walked away from this amazing experience, I now have a complete and utter disgust for the Apple business model, as it truly reflects the strength of its brand to over charge and influence the consumer behavior of an entire generation simply because of the perceived social standing that having the latest Apple product gives you. Case in point, I have this old beat up Macbook I bought in 2008. I absolutely love this machine. It was the laptop I bought when I started my first internet company. It stayed with me after I sold that company, and is still by my side after three other startups. I have a bunch of stickers on it, each identifying a story and reflection of my life over the past 7 years. When I started having keyboard issues, I stopped regularly using my computer because Apple suggested I buy an entirely new laptop. Whereas with Ray, he simply replaced the keyboard, my battery, upped my RAM from 2GB to 8GB, and replaced my hard drive with a solid state, and BOOM all of a sudden I have a computer that performs just as fast as many of the brand new laptops being sold Pollos Hermanos style to an unsuspecting generation of sheep. He did all of this for a price that basically cost the same amount of what Apple charged me to replace my screen???? Overall, I'm very pleased with my experience with Ray, and am looking forward to going to MacPro LA for ALL of my Apple needs. read more

Five star reviews always make me suspicious so I'm surprised to find myself writing one. But these guys are good. My wife smashed her iPhone 6 Plus screen - not just the top glass, right down to the circuitry. I set up an Apple Store appointment for the evening but on a whim took it to Mac-Pro in the morning based on the reviews. Yes, they had the parts and could handle it without an appointment. Come back in three hours. Two hours later, it's fixed, tested and ready to go. Cost: Not cheap but about the same as the Apple Store ($169). On the more intangible side, I got good vibes from the tech. Very down-to-earth, explained everything, even the type of testing they do. I'll be using them again. read more

They were the worst service ever the guy told me that I was wasting his time by him checking out what was wrong with my computer period I brought him a brand-new computer and a brand-new hard drive and all of a sudden they both don't work after they and opened it?? It's like they did something wrong and try to blame it on me.. First line of guilt is to be defensive and that's how they came off how could a brand-new hard drive shipped from Amazon not work at all and then the hard drive I had in my computer and all of a sudden doesn't work as well.. MacPro-LA was a lifesaver; if you have opened your iMac up yourself, then the Apple store, and authorized third-party stores will refuse to repair it, but they were able to fix it, and went out of their way to make get everything working again after the monitor/screen stopped working.
