I hadn't thought about getting portraits of my dog, but once I saw the idea, I became intrigued. I originally thought I would focus on photos of just my dog. Mark had a consultation call with me first, and he said that he was up for the challenge of getting a great photo of my dog and both of my children. That's truly not an easy task! Mark was incredibly patient and we had plenty of time during our session to get the photos that I was hoping for--including a couple of precious ones with my kids and dog together. I was also thrilled that we were able to replicate a photo that I fell in love with from Mark's portfolio. Our follow up session to select our photos was relaxing, and Mark made it fun and easy to narrow down our favorites. He also worked with our budget so that we left with everything we wanted. I shared that I was interested in getting a photo printed on canvas to match a different one we already have. He worked with the sizing that we needed and it turned out well. I love that he offers social media files in addition to physical prints. I have one of them set as my phone wallpaper now and it makes me happy to see it so many times each day. I recommend working with Mark especially if you want to capture your furry friend and kids together. You won't regret it!

As part of our winnings we were gifted a photo shoot with Crimson Cat Studios (who also does charity work) Susie is amazing. She let us know what to expect, what to bring, everything was also in writing so we could go back to make sure we do not forget anything on our shoot day. Our boy loved her. She was so gentle. Shoot went great We then went to review our pictures. They were beyond our expectations. She captured our boy the way that made our hearts very happy. We ordered what we wanted, a very smooth process. (She also sent us the cleaned up prints for final approval) In less than 10 days the final pictures arrived. We also received ALL the prints with the package we purchased. (A huge bonus) A great place to go. Both in studio, or on a photo shoot Thank you Susie

She was so kind in working with our dog, had treats and squeaky toys to help him look at the camera and feel comfortable, and captured his personality perfectly. These images will always hold a special place in my heart because they were the last family pictures we had taken before our sweet boy crossed over the rainbow bridge. If you haven't had pictures taken with your loving animals, I highly encourage you to make that a priority with Natalie. You'll always cherish these special memories and Natalie is an incredible photographer.

I don't really feel natural in front of a camera, but Natalie (and her husband, who joined us at the photo shoot as lighting guy & helper) are both relaxed, upbeat and personable, and made me feel as comfortable as I'm ever going to while smiling awkwardly and wondering what a normal human would be doing with his arms just then. The location she provided has a ton of natural light, and the kind of decor that's unassuming but nice-looking -- just right to compliment but not distract from the photos' subject, i.e. me. And the photos came out good too! Much better than I usually look in pictures. I definitely think Natalie captured me at my personal best. One small caveat, I found it a little uncomfortable that I had to pay the entire fee up front, before we'd ever even met. That made me feel like I had to invest quite a bit of trust in Natalie's skill and professionalism. It all turned out just fine in the end, so my trust wasn't misplaced, but eh, not my favorite. Overall, I'm happy with Natalie and honestly kind of delighted with my photos. I'll return to her next time I need a photographer, and I'd cheerfully recommend her to anyone looking for a headshot/portrait photographer.

Marla did an awesome job! Her photos were magnificent and we loved working with her. Marla is really an artist in her photography. Also, when staging our family photos, it was very helpful that Marla brought an assistant with her for an hour or so, which made our family shots go much more smoothly and faster. The lighting she created was really beautiful. Unfortunately, for our older son, we had used another photographer two years prior. We loved Marla's work so much more than our former photographer. Marla provided much more value. (The other photographer didn't have an assistant for those family shots) I really wish I had known about Marla for our older son's Bar Mitzvah, and used her instead!! In addition to Marla's great work, her follow up was awesome. I had asked her to stay on me to actually select the final photos and finish the album after the event. I was so happy to have the album in my hands a month or so after our son's Bar Mitzvah. (It literally took YEARS for me to receive my older son's album, even though it was really my fault for not pursuing the photographer. However, the prior photographer didn't pursue me either..... Like all Moms, I was busy and it's easy to let time slide after the event.) Marla, in a friendly way, kept reminding me and we finished it together before time slipped away. Thank You Marla for your talent, expertise, kindness and delivering us an album we are so proud of and will cherish forever. It's been a joy working with you. I have been coming into Ariane's for roughly four years. During this time, her work and her…read moregenerosity have blown me away. So, when I saw that her Yelp page has a "two-star" review (keep in mind, I truly expected none to be below a solid "five stars") I was shocked and felt compelled to write something that reflects my past and current experiences. Ariane first contacted me to offer free photography sessions for my rescue animals. I run a senior dog rescue (which now includes senior cats)- a notoriously difficult population to shoot due to special needs such as deafness, blindness, arthritis, dementia, black fur, or all of the above. Ariane has handled my most difficult of cases (the "all-of-the-above" ones) with grace and patience, and the photo results have always been gorgeous. She never fails to capture the best side of the subject and turn what could be the image of an "old, run down" animal to a "regal, proud" one. Her photos have directly led to the adoptions of many of my animals, a fact that I can never thank her enough for. Soon after meeting her, I began to bring my own animals in. This included my 19 year old cat, 16 year old black Pomeranian, 4 year old albino rat, and my (emotionally special needs) 5 year old black Poodle. She was gentle with my old, skinny cat, and managed to get some of the best photos I've ever seen of my impossible-to-photograph Pomeranian. The rat was thrilled to explore her props, and she even managed to charm the Poodle (a difficult feat, to say the least). Additionally, she was able to make experienced recommendations as to which method/material would be the best option for prints. Now that my 19 and 16 year olds, as well as the rat, have passed, her photos serve as an invaluable reminder, and are kept on my mantel. Ariane is talented, and while it may be true that you could go out and find someone willing to give you free digitals and discounted prints, you would truly be missing out on the skills and expertise she offers. I have never met someone more skilled with the camera, and her dedication towards rescue animals makes her even more special. You get what you pay for, and what Ariane gives you is nothing less than incredible.

The person who purchased the photo session ended up not being able to use it, so offered to donate it back to the organization so that an employee could make use of it. I was the first person to respond by email to our development director, so I got the session. I was super excited because I thought that I could just use the session to update my headshots. Nothing fancy, no wardrobe changes. Just my face, looking normal. Well, I called her and she was super rude and seemed extremely annoyed that a. The gift certificate was given to me and b. That I wanted to do head shots and not art prints. She said that the gift certificate isn't for her Delafoto brand but for her Ariane Cecile brand. She told me without mincing words that she donated the gift certificate with the expectation that the auction winner would spend $3000 on art prints. (Yes, $3000.) This was not communicated in any sort of fine print or anything, mind you. So, our patron thought they were doing a nice thing by donating this back. Ultimately, it went to waste. Nonprofits: know that she is not donating to your silent auction out of the goodness of her heart, but to make money off of your patrons.
