I am a fan of libraries - Macclesfield is no exception! The staff are pretty consistently friendly and helpful. There are many activities centered around the library and it is always interesting to discover what event is coming up next. There is a reading club for children over eight - I am looking forward to my kids wanting to join! They have all enjoyed the big read events that go on over the summer and we were really impressed with the presentation ceremony at the end of the summer, where kids that had read their quota of books recieved a certificate and medal. There are story telling sessions for younger children too.
The library is well kitted out with computers, and easily identifiable sections. There are regular displays of the work of local artists upstairs, as well as good reference sections.
Access to the library is good - it is within easy walking distance of short and longer term car parks and is central to the town. read more
