This review is for the MAC counter located inside Macys. Its true what they say that there's at least one snobby artist at all MACs. (i didnt believe this to be true, i usually have a pleasant experience at all counters.) Anyways, whats worse is when the snobby, rude artist does a mediocre job at a makeover! I went with my sister to this MAC to have her make up done for her prom and we had a guy, i believe his name was Artie. He seemed like he thought like he was above us and uninterested the entire time we first greeted. Fine, i thought, just do your job. And he did. No small talk, no talk, no nothing. It was just him just focused on work right, and the occasional helping other customers. (I am an avid makeup addict and a huge MAC fan so i know how it works) But he was just unpleasant. So when hes done, i was expecting a complete transformation-- as all skilled MAC artists do- but it was subpar! I couldve done a better job than that. He mismatched the foundation and it looked cakey (hello fix+!) and the eye shadow was so basic (hello blending and transitioning colors). Even after this tragic look, while we were picking products to purchase, I had told him we needed liquid foundation and powder (because my sister was going to need it for dance) he had the audacity to try and school me on what she actually needed! Like thanks but no thanks, maybe if you had done a better job I would actually respect your opinion. Also, 2 weeks later my sister had her makeup done by another MAC artist (at home) and she did such a good job and actually listened to what we had to say. She even added pigment to the eyes! Oh lala. This is what moved me to write this review. Some artists should practice more and not be allowed to makeover until they are actually good. All in all, 2 stars for this location because i love the products and ive had pleasant experiences before. But maybe MAC should teach their artists. read more
