This Esselunga is located within a mall, which I have to say is a new one for me, but the location was good for us to walk to and from our apartment and they had a nice variety of items available for purchase. Staff was nonexistent but we were able to find most of what we wanted without any assistance.

It's unacceptable! Don't write from 8 to 10 if you want to close at 9:45!?!?!!!!!! Mostly for that I give 1 star and for the fact, that the fish I bought there was only borderline fresh! You people should to better in the town of Italy's largest fish market!!! Apart from that, after 8pm everybody seems to have a rather curbed enthusiasm to keep the store clean as broken bottles lie on the floor for more than 20minutes (no, I didn't break it). The more I come here (it's right across the street from my appartment), the more I dislike it!

The Grand Central Station of grocery stores. One of the joys of traveling is discovering new…read morethings. Like a large leaderboard on the wall giving real time fluctuating water prices. I kid you not. Sell short! Maybe cause it's 10 minutes before closing- carts cutting each other off, just like the local highways, a gazillion checkout stands- so there's flow. Unlike the line to see the Da Vinci Museum- which we gave up on after an hour. Italy welcomed us with a big spit in the face. I figured out how to use the tram, but there was zero signage on how to buy tix. No ticket machines, nothing on the above ground lines. So clueless us, board the train, disembark at the 1st tourist destination and Bam! Surrounded by 3 traffic cops who threaten us with heavier fines if we don't pay the regular fine right then & there. They ask for your passport, take your credit card, & charge you 45 Euros, the cost of going to every major museum in a day + lunch. Milan, I think I hate you. The groceries were ok.

Some portions of this place smelled a little weird, but other than that, I liked the experience here. If you need some super market products at super market prices, this is the place.

We loved their freshly made food, the sandwiches, risotto, Milanese, salads, & desserts were all great & very REASONABLY priced! 2 items, dessert or side dish, & a drink for only 10.90 euros! They also have great selections of snacks (including ice cream), salad bowls, & reasonably-priced wines (u can get one for 6-7 euros for a 750ml bottle). The staff were pretty efficient, but spoke limited English. It's so conveniently located, so you can grab food on your way as you go to your destination by train.

The 24/7 opening is especially helpful, especially for night-owls like myself, this is too rare in Milan! The product selection was like a typical convenience-style supermarket (Tesco Express / Sainsbury's Local) back home, with a good selection of essentials, and a small selection of fruit and vegetables. The layout of the store was universally easy to understand and follow. Most of the prices were reasonable, the checkout experience was pleasant and fast enough, the staff member apologised for not speaking English well, and I thanked him as he did an excellent job (plus he spoke English pretty well, which is an unreasonable expectation anyway at a grocery store in Italy) 4*
