I have 3 children that have been diagnosed with ADHD varying in age from 21-6. Needless to say I…read morewas thrilled to find practice that specializes in, and treats only ADD/ ADHD. The Greensboro office is small, and the reception staff is both friendly and helpful. When we arrived to our appointment, my son was taken to start testing. The nurse (nursing assistant?) was friendly and excited to go back and "play on the computer," so of course, my son instantly felt comfortable and excited too! Computer games at the doctor's office? Awesome, right? Well, he probably wasn't as thrilled once he realized she was going to administer a Qb test. According to the test makers website, a "QbTest is a test to evaluate the symptoms of ADHD for children and adults that combines motion-tracking analysis with a uniquely designed continuous performance task." Basically, for 15 minutes, he was instructed to respond "quickly and accurately" to shapes as they appears on the computer screen by clicking a button on a handheld controller. His responses were recorded and analyzed. While he worked on the Qb test, I had the task of filling out a rating sheet on behaviors. Once both tasks were completed, and his vitals were taken, were were all taken back to meet the doctor. I can't speak to the other providers in the office, but we saw Dr. Emily Thompson. She was thorough, informative and helpful. She left no stone unturned. While in her office she told us of a swab year that can be performed that can be used as a tool/ guide for selecting/ ruling out medications. She explained that it can help explain why some medications have failed in the past. Say what?? I want to have a swab test done! All-in-all, I highly recommend Carolina Attention Specialists AND Dr. Thompson. She was able to set us on a course to help our son that no one had thought to try, and for that I am grateful!

Everyone in the office is very nice and super understanding. Dr Stevenson made me feel so…read morecomfortable, understood, and I felt like I could truly talk to her, and that she really did care. I unfortunately moved out of the state recently, but I would recommend this office, and Dr Stevenson, to anyone looking for help with ADD/ADHD and anxiety.
