We had an electrical fault at our house and contacted a few electricians to get an idea how much it would cost to do the required testing. Mike was by far the most friendly, competitive and up-front we contacted, saying that due to the type of fault (a tripping RCD on the fuse board) finding it could take as little as 30 minutes or much longer it just depended on what and where the fault was. He was very reassuring however and said he would try to find it as quickly as possible. I was very pleased with his advice on the phone, and he offered a competitive hourly rate with no call out charge even at weekends and evenings. He was very punctual in arriving (on a Sunday morning), has a courteous and friendly manner and he explained what was he was doing and his progress as he went along. His approach was methodical, he was obviously knowledgeable and managed to locate and fix the fault promptly and without any hassle. He tidied up after himself and made good the holes that had to be made when looking for and fixing the fault. He didn't expect payment straight up, preferring to invoice us. Mike has just rewired our lighting, installed a new consumer unit, earthed the house (!) and installed an outside socket and light in the process. Mike responded within hours to our initial email enquiry, provided a temporary fix to our electrical problems whilst quoting for the work and delivered on everything he said he would do. Thoroughly professional in every aspect. We had a series of outdoor security lights installed as well as some additional power sockets to an out-building. Mike replaced a stainless steel double socket and fixed two downlighters by replacing the 50w 12v transformers. He tested the instalation and issued a certificate. The work was carried out efficiently and the charge was extremely reasonable with no call out charge. I cannot recommend MB Electrics highly enough and will certainly use them again. read more
