My only interest was their foodhall and it's compact and bijou as an estate agent would claim.
I trust M&S and the quality of their food is always ace. We were on our way to Sligo for our first post Wu flu lockdown hotel stay.
We had initially thought to roll into Enniskillen town and find a place for a relaxed Sunday lunch. This proved daft, it was a soulless and almost lifeless centre.
There were few places in the centre that were open and one that we rocked up to (Francos) didn't work out. I've done a separate review on that poor experience. We've now ticked Enniskillen town as a place worth missing.
So plan B was to go into M&S for picnic stuff. The next problem was Sunday itself. The shopping centre housing M&S didn't open until 1pm (closing at 6pm). So we sat in the car until opening time.
Although the M&S food hall is small it had all they key stuff for a picnic; smoked salmon, finest prawns in cocktail sauce, a range of salads, potato, pea, potato and mint, a Thai salad with a peanut dressing, rocket, mature cheese topped bread rolls.
I grabbed a few boxes of plump strawberries, double cream and some fresh cream meringues, so off for a picnic which we had across the border.
At least the check-out operator was a real friendly young chap. Thanks M&S and thanks for nothing Enniskillen but anyway all's well that ends well. read more
