My wife and I recently purchased a rental property in Palm Desert. We don't know the first thing about pool equipment or how to troubleshoot if something goes wrong. We also had a person servicing the pool from the previous owners. I reached out Mauricio because we had a guest checking in who requested that we heat the pool for them. I attempted to turn the heater on remotely, but after several hours, I noticed that the heater was not working, and I wouldn't know what I was looking at. We reached out to our normal pool service to see if they could assist in any way. After a few more hours, the only response we got from our pool guy was a picture of our bill for the next month. This is how I found Mauricio, after hours or waiting for a response from our regular guy, most pool services are now closed. I called Mauricio, and he answered immediately. He said he'd be happy to go look at my pool after he finished with his current client. He was at our house in 20 minutes and sent me pictures of the problem. He said he would get the part and replace it the next morning. True to his word, he got our pool heater going first thing the next morning. Mauricio is a total Life saver. We've needed his assistance a few other times and he responds very quickly and gets the job done. We've since moved on from our other pool service and Mauricio has taken over. Just bought a house with a pool and am a first-time pool owner. Mauricio knows pool equipment and was able to assess a problem that arose after another company serviced the pool and left me with a cold drained spa and overflowing pool. And a case of "spa rash" from the chemical balance to add insult to injury. I called Mauricio at 7:30 pm Thursday and his wife answered and said he had stepped out, but she would have him call when he returned. True to her word, he called back 15 minutes later and scheduled a Saturday appointment and arrive on time, even a little early. Mauricio identified the problem and corrected it within 5 minutes, then he programmed the filter and heater and explained how frequent and how long the filter needed to be run each day, and how long the heater needed to be run to achieve a comfortable temp. His price is a little more than the first company, but reasonable and he brings a helper so they're super efficient and they leave my pool sparkling. You get what you pay for! What started as a new pool service ended with a complete pool renovation, tile removal, new tile replacement, acid wash plus cement walk around pool re staining and cured, fountain repair and new tile all done at a very fair price that exceeded my expectation. I have never had such fast, super quality, on budget, on time work done in the valley. On top of that Mauricio and his staff were wonderful to work with, friendly, professional, responsive, helpful and a total package. We live in the Palm Desert area where it's really hot and windy at times and the pools must be kept up. I was so frustrated with my pool man after many tries at getting him to consistently clean the pools, in frustration, I fired him. Then I needed to get another pool man - but who? I came here and looked at the reviews and then set up interviews for the next day. I had four interviews set up but two of them cancelled and wanted to do it another day, (I was only available that day so that was disappointing.) I talked to one pool man who couldn't even find the skimmer for the pool (new type infinity pool) and thought there wasn't one. Then I had an appointment with Mauricio of M&M pools. He was polite, conscientious and very knowledgeable. He took me around to the pools, I have two homes here, and showed me the filters. It looked like they had never been cleaned. I was amazed at the way the equipment looked for being only a year old and supposedly being cleaned two times a week by the other pool man!!! I had a good feeling about him and hired him that day. The next day he was here getting the algae and other things out of the pools, then came on Saturday and worked for several hours on the filters, replacing the old cartridges and putting in filter baskets that had never been there in the first place. By his third visit the pools looks like brand new ready to welcome us for swimming again. I also have several fountains that need weekly care and he cleaned them and their filters and everything became beautiful again.
