It took about three months since August for some over-plucked parts to fully come back. Pretty happy with the results and the natural shape, I wanted to take off a few stray hairs to get the eyebrows look more symmetrical and also to trim the top part in a way that looks clean and not over-groomed. I normally do this myself, but since I haven't had full-blown natural eyebrows in ages, I figured it'd be a great opportunity to go to a stylist and treat myself. I've had terrible experiences in the past when people would pluck the heck out of me for no good reason, so I was pretty hesitant to do this, and the fact that none of my girlfriends normally did it at a salon also didn't help. After checking a number of places in the neighborhood, I was blown away by the amazing reviews, the IG account of Eye Love Beauty, and more importantly the beautiful luscious eyebrows of their aestheticians. So I booked an appointment, thinking that with every single girl rocking bushy eyebrows these days, the worst thing that could happen to me would be just paying the money and leaving with almost no changes, which I would have been totally fine with to be honest. My appointment was with Rochelle, who was very friendly and attentive. She examined my eyebrows, listened to my preferences and confirmed them to make sure we are on the same page. She also suggested to take off a bit of hair at the bottom to open the eyes/define the arch, which I was happy with. She carried on, was fast and very gentle. When she was done and handed me the mirror to check out the results, you could only imagine my surprise as I saw two skinny flat tasteless eyebrows from the 2000s on my face with half of the width gone, including good 3 mm from the top, and the arch was no longer there. I was completely stumped as I realized there was nothing that could be done at that point. So I mumbled something about the top of the eyebrows. Rochelle suggested that it wasn't as dense as the middle part, which is absolutely true by the way - my eyebrows are not perfect, but they are definitely much thicker than most of the average ones, and with a bit of filling they always look extremely voluminous. At this point I could only assume either the majority of their clients have perfect model eyebrows, the staff was trained on such eyebrows, or it was simply not my day. I felt extremely bad, but I didn't want to make a scene or argue - Rochelle was very kind throughout the whole session, there was nothing to be done at that point for the hair to magically grow back, and I was rushing back to work. So I just paid and left. I hate to be the person to leave this as an online comment rather than in-person feedback, but I honestly don't know what I should have done differently, since we both seemed to be on the same page, and I am not the type of person to interrupt an expert to check every two minutes on their work. I liked Rochelle a lot and wouldn't mind coming back if I knew I would be getting what I want. I just want to cry in a corner and shave this shame off. It will take me three months to grow back the hair, with the ugly stumps sticking out, and I cannot even properly conceal this with a pencil/shadow, since it looks absolutely ridiculous in this spot. The dumbest part is I don't have anyone else to blame for this but myself. So if you are someone like me, having beautiful eyebrows and contemplating about saving time shaping them yourself, please don't repeat my mistakes, set aside two hours and do it yourself. No one knows your face better than you, and not even the best stylist can read your mind. Or if you decide to give it a try, maybe ask a stylist to fill in the final desired shape before they start tweezing.

Both my sister in law and I drove from the east end all the way to Vaughan to get our lashes done because we got a great promo deal via Groupon and their work on Instagram looked pretty good. Location: it was a little confusing to get here, but if you look for the TB Tax sign in the plaza, you're in the right spot. There is free parking available and it's a fairly large lot. The salon itself is up a pretty steep flight of stairs and there wasn't an elevator as far as I could tell. It is NOT baby stroller or wheel chair friendly. The space itself is small, clean and pretty. I liked the little touches, like the glitz on the hand towel in the bathroom, and the huge fluffy pillow on the couches. There is no separate area for waiting and treatment, so if you're shy about being beautified with a possible audience, be warned. Mind you, when we visited, there was one other girl finishing up before us and we basically had the place to ourselves. This was great because I had to bring my 8 month old daughter with me and she is a giggly little thing that babbles quite loudly some times. Nicole did both my lashes and my SIL's lashes, although she received an HD set for a 20$ upgrade fee. It was totally worth it if you have a lot of lashes because it looked fabulous on her. I have much shorter and sparser lashes so I stuck with a more natural look. The thing I loved was that I literally just said, "Hey, I just don't want to wear mascara on vacation and still look bright eyed in photos..." and she just knew what to do based on my lash length and eye shape. I also wear glasses so it was important that I didn't get cartoonishly long lashes that bumped my lenses. The lashes were soft and didn't feel stiff to the touch. I left with a little pink pouch with some aftercare instructions and a pink mascara wand to keep the lashes brushed. The lashes held up pretty decently without any refills, even after about four weeks. I've always been pretty good about lash care, but this vacation had been pretty hectic so I hadn't brushed them as much as I normally would and they still looked full, albeit a bit tangled by the end of the day. I'd say they looked pretty good at up until about the six week mark, after which there were just too many lashes that had fallen off. This, however, far exceeded my expectations. Overall, I'd recommend this place, particularly if you live in the area. I don't think I'd be returning regularly only because it's such a trek from my place, but Nicole did a great job and knows what she's doing when it comes to lash extensions.

If this was my first time, then I wouldn't have any expectations but it isn't so I am quite disappointed with the results. By day 4, I only had 20-25 lashes left (I had 60 originally) on one of my eyes and came in for a recount, where I received a free refill to 55 lashes per eye. I know that 1-2 lashes can fall out per day, but it's day 8 now and both eyes are only at ~30 lashes each. I am really disappointed because 1) I purchased the sealer and am using it as indicated 2) I have not worn ANY eye makeup since I had my lashes done 3) I don't sleep on my face or rub my eyes. I'm giving a 3 star since I had my eyebrows done for free and they gave me a free refill but I'm disappointed that my lashes can't even stay a week (might be an issue with the glue they use or lashes were too heavy for my eyelashes).

Not so pleasant. She worked on my right eye which took quite awhile but when she worked on my left eye, the amount of time spent was so fast. When she finished, she gave me the mirror and it was completely noticeable that the eyelashes were uneven. My left side did not match the right side. I asked her if it looked like it didn't match and she said she used the same size eyelashes on each eye. But she sat me down again and added some longer eyelashes to the left eye. It helped a bit but I still didn't feel like it looked good or even. Anyways, seems like she was in a rush to leave. Her friend was waiting outside and she was on her phone texting while I was paying. I went to work on Monday and my coworkers told me it was horrible before I said anything at all. Unfortunately, I won't be returning as I went to a different place after, that is more expensive and further (super unfortunate because I live so close to Fabulash) but they had exceptional customer service skills and made sure their customer was satisfied. The more first experience was interesting as I wasn't used to lashes weighing down my eyes, once I got used to it the maintenance and care became a little too much for me and my busy schedule. When I first approached Fabulash I had already had a lash tint done at another salon. When I was in for the appointment I got to talking to the lash technician Brittney, I told her about my past experiences and she recommended a lash lift with my tint so I went for it. I think the total experience was around an hour or so. And let me say it was totally worth it! My first lash tint only lasted two weeks, Fabulash's tint and lift lasted about a month and a half! Brittney was very patient and knowledgeable, she answered all of my question and more. I was really impressed because she honestly told me the tints/lifts typically only last two-three weeks but mine lasted way longer. You can really tell that Brittney really cares about her clients and knows her stuff. The salon is convenient and welcoming, on top of everything Brittney let me take as much candy as I wanted from her candy bowl. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a lift/tint. Brittney is your girl! Note: The salon is on the third floor of the building so just be prepared to climb.
