It's a lot like an IKEA but a little more expensive... But not too expensive! It's centrally located in Villach so you don't have to go all the way to Klagenfort. The staff are nice, most speak English, and the store is very very clean. read more

This little ski/sport shop is a nice place to rent your ski equipment when visiting Turracherhoehe…read more I only needed skis and poles and they accomodated me. We received a small discount because we were staying in an Almhuette in the Mei Zeit Doerfl. I also received a club card so the next time I visit, it wouldn't take as long. There was only one man on staff and he was a little stressed, but at least we weren't hitting the slopes that day. The ski selection is not huge, but you can also find hats, shoes, gloves, goggles, anything that you may have left behind. Intersport is right next door, but I am happy to support a small business instead. For an entire week of skiing, we paid roughly 118 euros for the skis.

Misty cool afternoon with tons of green grass everywhere and a huge panoramic view. The great thing about this place is the top has a kitchen and bar with beer and wine. Sitting on the top veranda after walking the stairs up is very nice, the views to the mountain are beautiful with farms and animals and forest, the views to the basin are nice too, you see cars and churches and a small lake. Just sit and imagine the years that rolled by in this place and all the events that happened from celebrations to wars and everything in between.....
