Gangs of New York style doctors. I am a Texan who went to this business as a child growing up and then my doctors retired. I recently found a WOMAN who has been a dentist for over 25 years who was nice to me. She just gave me a night guard and sent me on my way. These doctors want us to pay them lots of money and they dont actually want to save your teeth. I know that because the doctors that used to work at this place named Lutrell and Gomillion told me dentists like to have you with bad teeth so they can make money. Don't trust dentist, vets and doctors always. Especially when they are mean to you and don't care about you at all. Like these men acted randomly towards me. As a mom and as a lady? I have never felt such disgusted and disdain as both of these dentist acted towards me just for being late driving in to an appointment. I was shocked the ladies working there for 20 years did not get vacations and bonuses. If the men took over that office go ask them if they got anything for Christmas the first 3 years. Instead of vacations they didn't get anything and I asked them. I asked the short doctor if he gave them anything there is a photo right there of the employees in Hawaii and my previous doctor did that. He said oh maybe we should do something- this was 3 years into their takeover. I have a great woman who has been doing teeth for as long as Gomillion and Luttrel and literally went to high school with their employees. I had my child and my mom's birthday and frankly they could have just said nice words. But only those who are nice and have nice people skills are capable of doing that. It's a gift to a few and a skill learned by many. It's odd when they are not my boss & they can't even care for their own employees openly and brag about it to me at all. Never artificially written. Written by me after getting great care from a 25 year long dentist who was professional kind and wanted their patients to morally and ethically be ok. I think a long time ago they could have literally called and said I'm sorry you felt that way but maybe their mom and dad never taught them to have any manners at all? Who knows. Do better men. Located in a strip mall off Potranco, parking was super easy.. especially for a 7am appointment lol Office was clean and modern...practice has been around for 5 years. The entire staff was fabulous! Tori was my hygienist and she was awesome. Kind, patient, caring, empathetic... she truly cared and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. She explained everything she was doing and always inquired if I had any questions or to let her know if I was uncomfortable. Bite x-rays were taken with a handheld x- ray gun and cleaning started with a sonic water machine, prior to manual cleaning with instruments. Love how technology has really stepped up these past few years. Met Dr. Brandon for my teeth exam. Very nice and professional. All these years of never having any dental issues or cavities... I succumbed to my first issue. After careful examination, a crack in one of my molars was diagnosed. A two appointment process was scheduled for application of a temporary crown , then three weeks after the final permanent crown. Crowns made are outsourced. Received my estimate at the front desk and all future appointments were made. Not looking forward to a crown, but I feel confident this experience is going to be ok. And received a little baggy containing a free toothbrush, and sample toothpaste with floss. Yay!!! My last dentist didn't offer that at all. Story to be continued......

This was also my husband's first time there to get a tooth filled and a cap fitted. He said it was a great experience. Dr. Wright and all of his staff are so friendly and sweet and nice. The front desk is also very nice and very accommodating. The office is just beautiful too, and they have a very nice waiting room with a TV and a little space for young kids to hang out and play.

While over the Christmas break, I was enjoying a tasty festive treat. About three bites in…read more.. CRUNCH! One of my teeth decided to chip and break. Bummer. What a way to put a damper in the holidays. Not having a regular dentist here in New Braunfels, raised my pucker factor as well. Luckily, my daughter had a regular dentist, and the wife recommended Rivercrest Family Dental. The wife made me an appointment, with the soonest appointment being six days later. Thank goodness I was not in severe pain. I showed up on the day of my appointment about thirty minutes early. I was greeted upon entry and asked for my driver's license and had my photo taken for the file. I had filled the paperwork online the night prior, so no lengthy forms were required before I was seen. The nice lady behind the desk told me to have a seat and told me that it would be a while since I was very early. As promised, I was called back right at my appointment time and was placed in the seat. The receptionist told me the dental assistant and Dr. Barber would be with me shortly. Shortly thereafter, a nice young lady (sorry, I am terrible with names) greeted me and went over some of the basic medical questions. Lunch break came, so then the nice young lady handed the torch over to another nice lady to take good care of me. She outfitted me with a bib, and put a lead jacket on me. Took some X-rays of my chipped tooth, then went to consult with Dr. Barber. She was very nice and we made small talk whilst we waited for the doc. Dr. Barber came in and evaluated my x-ray. He looked in my mouth and told the dental assistant a bunch of medical terms and jargon. He then gave me the low down in layman's terms. Said I would need filings, and he could fit me in quick before his next consult. He told me another assistant would be in shortly to give me the break down of the costs, and numbed me up. The assistant came in shortly thereafter and gave me the breakdown. Was up front about what the costs were, and how much my insurance would cover. I assessed the costs, and gave them the thumbs up. I could not talk as my mouth was all numb. Dr. Barber and the assistant went right to work. Dr. Barber kept me informed the whole time, told me what he was doing, and why. The pain was kept to bare minimum. The doctor asked if I had any questions or concerns, then told me he wanted to see me back in a few weeks to discuss a more thorough examination. I was then walked down the hall, paid my bill, made my next appointment, and was free to go. I highly recommend this place and highly recommend Dr. Barber. The whole process from start to finish was somewhat painless. No one ever enjoys going to the dentist, but this visit was not as bad as I thought it would be. Enjoy.
