Initially I attended night classes, which later saw me turning to a full-time immersive course in user experience design. The course helped me transition into a new career as well as meet lots of new friends during this exciting journey. Melbourne GA has a group of organised and active producers who are well-involved in the community. I regularly attend their panels & workshops and my personal education has been all the better for it.

Our presenter Bart was great at conveying a massive slab of information into something that was both funny and engaging (a rare skill). I think that the majority of the attendees gave Bart their email address to receive the PowerPoint presentation which is a reflection of how much they enjoyed themselves. Our Community manager Mel P. Was also there to give a brief overview of the history of Yelp, another great public speaker. Go Mel :) I hope that Yelp partners with GA (that's what the cool kids call it) again :) :)

This is not the first time I have studied in Melbourne, I've studied for 2 years in Monash and a…read morebachelor degree from Melbourne University. Now I'm doing a tiny one year dental course from this institute, and it's the worst decision I've ever made. The teachers are mean and unprofessional! We have 2 trainers everyday teaching us different methods and have an absolutely different explanation for what they want. The admin people keep loosing our unit marks and send us letters stating our slow progress. When my class complained about this they simply apologised saying the trainers dint send them our updated scores. The teachers keep screaming uselessly, if you don't get anything they make you feel like a looser and insult you in front of the whole class. I suggest don't ever apply in this institute ! We have filed complaint forms too but they do nothing about it.

So I thought what the hell it's close, I'll give it a go. I'll admit being an institute I was a little nervous thinking some student hack would leave me looking a bit worse for wear. I walked in and one of the teachers quickly found someone to help me. Walking towards the back of the building to the treatment rooms I was a bit concerned but my beauty therapist was chatty friendly and über professional. The treatment rooms were spotless, not as pretty as other salons but hey with the cost of an eyebrow wax only $11, less then half of the average full service salon I don't mind a spare treatment room. My therapist was excellent. She was not a student but rather a full time employee who works there, so treatments are done by experienced staff. She also trimmed by fringe and I was pleasantly surprised when the bill came to $19. Apart from hair and waxing they also do massages, pedis and manis. I will be back and will be referring my friends to go there as well. Great value for money and great service.
