7-Eleven - For all its cons, it's usually moderately busy here.

It is conveniently located near Rittenhouse Square, The Schuylkill trail and 30th Street Station. The only reason I prefer this place over other gas stations is that they have a Subway. It is just like a regular one with the fresh ingredients and good sandwiches. They don't really have a sit down area though. The gas here is a bit pricey, but at least they got rid of the TVs, which used to be loud and annoying.

This is my local gas station, and regretfully so. Often, a good handful of the 16 pumps are…read moreunavailable for use for one reason or another. Sometimes they don't even mark them as unavailable or broken, and you find out only after going all the way through the pre-fill process. In the warmer months, you can find folks out here offering to re-rack your gas pump so that they can not fully re-rack it and then invite their friends to fill up on your card. Do be careful and only return your pump yourself, no matter how friendly the offer. The 7-Eleven itself is slightly below average in cleanliness, and honestly I haven't checked it out that much because I'm too wary of leaving my car unattended when I come here to fill up on my own. Will I still come here to fill up? Yes, since the alternative for me is going out to West Philadelphia and this is good enough. But not a great place to go if you can avoid it.

I was skeptical about eating gas station fried chicken, but the sheer number of supporters they have curb stomped my fear. I hopped out of the uber to a Winter Wonderland, as snow had been POUNDING the City of Brotherly love all night. A personal existential crisis ensued: If I reviewed the RoFo fried chicken outside in the snow, it would undoubtedly get more views than if I ate it inside the gas station. However, the most fair rating would be inside because the chicken would be unaffected by the elements. At this point, I had to ask myself "Who do I want to be? The guy doing things for views, or the guy doing it for the love and integrity of the game." I decided to do it outside, but when I opened the door to a gust of bone chilling wind, I had to call an audible. I just knew doing it inside was the right thing. Good vs evil is a battle we all must fight every single day. This fried chicken was SMACKIN. Nice crunch on the exterior, with the breast even being tender and juicy. Do you know how hard it is to get tender breast meat on some fried chicken? It's truly an art. 9.1/10 from me. I still can't believe some of the best fried chicken I've ever had came from a gas station. SHOUTOUT TO ROFO! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

I just left from there and I was trying to order some food considering I didn't have much options…read morebecause most of the food was either dried out looking or a few pieces. I decided to go with the chicken tenders and fries since the tenders looked as if they were the freshest items on display. I kindly asked the man that was making the food if he could drop me some fresh fries since there were only a little bit and multiple had just walked in and started placing an order as well. He told me that the fries were sitting there for a "little less than an hour". I said to him I could see if you said 20 mins maybe even a half an hour but I don't want any fries that been sitting out for "a little less than an hour". He refused customer service for something so simple. I don't understand how are you the manager of something when your physical appearance is of someone who shouldn't even be working with the food. No gloves on, shirt not properly tucked in, hair sticking all out of the hat which possibly has fallen in someone's food and you don't have good customer service skills on top of that. The young lady at the front register looked clean and kept and way more presentable and she wasn't even a manager based off of what she told me. This store has just lost a good paying customer!

I admit my issues up front. Now that I have given my disclaimer I can complete my review. I pulled up the BP in desperate need of gas. I start filling my tank only to notice two sets of prices. Apparently, there are gas stations still charging two different prices based on payment method. So regular was 4.09/gal with cash but it costs 4.17/gal with the use of a card. The same pattern followed for the premium version as well. I did not know that gas stations still did that. I heard about it years ago but have not been to one in years. I know its my fault for being ignorant of this but gas is high enough. To make matters worse, the muffin from the Dunkin Donuts at the gas station was stale. I know I was upset about the gas thing but a stale muffin is something that I cannot tolerate. Its simply unforgivable. In any case, unless your desperate stay away from this BP. Stale muffins. Extra charge for people using a credit card. Where does it all end?
