My husband and I booked three weeks at this vacation rental home in Surprise Arizona - March 16,…read more2013 to April 7, 2013. We had our children and grandchildren stay with us during most of that time. We paid $4800 rent and $700 damage deposit in advance of our visit. When we arrived on Saturday 16th March, the water in the pool and spa was cold and the pool heater was broken. We advised the homeowner immediately by email and phone call. The following Monday, March 18th we called the manufacturer of the pool heater and received the name of a qualified repair company in the area. We arranged an appointment for the service call on Tuesday, March 19th, to diagnose and fix the pool heater. We advised the homeowner of our actions and she subsequently CANCELLED our service call. After daily calls and emails, a "handyman" arrived on March 21st to look at the pool heater. This self employed handyman had no knowledge or experience in fixing this kind of equipment and actually caused further damage to the heater. After daily calls and emails and no effective action from the homeowner to fix this problem, we called a qualified pool heater repair company and had the pool heater fixed. We paid the repair costs. The pool heater was finally heating the pool on March 28th - 13 days after we arrived for a 22 day vacation. We left the Arizona home with absolutely no damage or excessive cleaning required to the property. Upon our return home, we advised the homeowner that we would wait 14 days for a complete refund of our damage deposit and the repair costs before taking further action. To date we have received nothing from the homeowner. The homeowner was ineffective in resolving this simple issue during our three week stay. The homeowner has not refunded our damage deposit, now three weeks since we departed. If you rent this property and expect it to be as advertised - buyer beware.

The guy did get upset because we didn't upgrade what they wanted us to, but that's all we could afford. The only thing I didn't liked is that they were pushy and come on. We already bought something and we can't upgrade and they get upset. But our room was cute like a small one bedroom apartment. We enjoyed our staying we walked around the whole resort. There's a lot of stuff to do. Just make sure you bring extra money. We are going back so we can enjoy other things that they have since we only stayed on the weekend. We were able to go to the adult pool and they were having a game where it was called name that tune it was fun. Got to meet other people and then that poor for adults only they had a bar. The guy was super friendly. We really enjoyed our time besides the guy who got mad at us for not upgrading our timeshare. We got a $75 gift card for buying a timeshare but the guy just gaved us the gift card and walked away and didn't say much to us after we refused to upgrade. Other than that resort was nice.

There are so many negative reviews that I was a little concerned. But our room was updated, clean, and everything was in working order. The pool was amazing, with a slide, and a huge hot tub. A lot of the negative reviews were about the owner updates, which we always opt out of. I will say that they called three times before our arrival to see if we would like to have an update while we were there. I said no, so eventually they got the hint. So I can see them being aggressive. I'm glad I didn't have to deal with that. The resort is beautiful, but there isn't much to do right around it. Most activities would require going to Phoenix which is about 40 mins away. Just keep that in mind when planning. We enjoyed our stay at this resort.

I'm highly allergic to dogs and cats, and I didn't realize this hotel was so pet-friendly. I had an allergic reaction the first night, coughed heavily, took my inhalers and Benadryl and thought I could get through the night. Jessica at the front desk was helpful when I asked to be moved to a room that didn't have pet visitors, but she said there are no rooms like that. Pets are allowed in all rooms. She had housekeeping clean my room, vacuum, and change the air filters. Unfortunately, I continued to cough and needed meds all week, and just limited my time in the room as much as possible, which was only to sleep as I'm at work all day. In retrospect, I should have changed hotels. I'm grateful to Jessica for her help though. On the plus side, loved the pool and hot tub, although guests smoke outside so that's rough if you are sensitive to smoke. Breakfast was very nice. Free, plentiful, nutritious. And there's a soda fountain at the breakfast bar with Diet Coke, which I can't get at Marriott properties. Jason at check-in was especially friendly and welcoming. A good stay, except for the allergic reaction. I won't stay here again for that reason, but if you aren't allergic to pets this is a fun option with a great pool and free hot breakfast!

When we returned later, the room was still not ready. The manager seemed stressed and the check-in process felt unorganized. On the positive side, the buffet was amazing, the breakfast was great, and the room was pretty clean once we finally got in. The rest of the crew provided excellent service and were very friendly throughout our stay.

Over the last few months, I have interviewed half a dozen vacation management companies in search…read moreof a great parter to manage my property in Old Town Scottsdale. All of the other companies that I had spoken with were experienced and knowledgeable, but nothing about those conversations left me excited about partnering or gave me the confidence that they would manage my property with the level of attention and care that I expected. I felt like my house would just be one of the thousands of other properties they manage across the county. They cared more about getting the sale than working with me to develop a tailored strategy for my home. I set up a call with Ellie (Owner) to hear what she had to say and learn more about her approach to luxury vacation rental management. It immediately became clear to me that Ellie knows exactly what it takes to not just do well in a competitive market such as Scottsdale...but how to excel and produce extraordinary results. Ellie provided guidance and what it would take to get my home to appear in the top search results, generate the highest possible nightly rates, provide a full service luxury experience to guests, top reviews, and a management team to support the entire operation so that I can be a completely hands off owner. She backed up everything she said producing reports with 24 months of property performance on all of HomeSlice's existing properties. I not only hired HomeSlice to manage my property, I hired Ellie to do the entire interior design and I am SO happy I did. Her design was incredible and she put 100% of everything I needed for the home in my shopping cart...only thing I had to do was make click "buy". The #1 thing I learned during this entire experience was to not go looking to hire a property management company....look for a partner you trust and one that will produce results. I found that in Ellie and her team at HomeSlice.

I think maybe air bnbs in Arizona should require AC? Idk if that's just me. She treated our group like we didn't know how to operate a very simple thermostat. So much that it took her hours of telling us how to use it, that it was too late for a technician to come. It was so hot, we had to be outside. We had 10 people. 1 was pregnant, and 4 more of us were not drinking. She tried to charge $1,000 for a noise complaint that was never made. Which she says that her neighbor took "multiple videos and photos" of our "house party" of girls in the pool with bikinis on! She never sent the actual video that we can listen to. Just a screenshot. But that pretty creepy of the neighbor to take videos of girls in the pool. So maybe don't use the pool if you stay at her house in phoenix. . Besides that, going back to the house being 86 DEGREES and her not caring or being apologetic at all. It was finally fixed 6:30 pm on Saturday, but it probably took until 8pm to cool from 86 degrees to 73. Not once were we rude to her. We could've been under these circumstances. Sorry your ego is fragile and you're unable to take constructive criticism. A woman of your age, I would expect a bit more professionalism and maturity. House is cute tho! Good job decorating! PS. We don't need your money. Your house with no ac just wasn't worth it. But thanks for the feedback. A budget in or hostel would've probably had better service and AC. This isn't "retaliation" for money. Just standing up for my friends and letting everyone know you're a pathological liar when we have every screen shot and video proof of everything.
