During the first online lesson, the owner took out his anger on my daughter via a FaceTime rant, yelling at her, telling her that "your mom is rude" and saying that this relationship was not going to work out. My daughter was scared. He verbally assaulted her, and when I confronted him about it in a phone conversation, he said that he speaks to everyone that way. I don't even speak to my child in the hostile way that he did. This man is scary, rude, and abusuve. He told me that we are "not his type of clientele," which, at this point, is a good thing because his "type" must be okay with verbally assaulting children. Update based on the owner's defensive harangue: I've been a public school educator for almost 30 years, so I know what good teaching looks like. I also know what positive relationships look like. He can spin this and insult me all day long, but it doesn't change the fact that he unnecessarily lashed out at my child and scared her so much that she couldn't even focus on the rest of the lesson. If he were teaching in public education, he would have been fired.

From the planning, to the day of, he made it all a breeze and always made us feel confident that we were getting what WE wanted, as opposed to what he thought we should do. Affordable, friendly, and comforting. Everything you could ask for on your special day. The little details are what left the biggest impression. He played the perfect mix of songs that would appeal to ALL the ages present. Got the history on the guests (who should toast, who shouldn't). He even threw in some stuff because he thought it would elevate the day - like special lighting. All around, a lovely guy and great DJ. He truly cares about making your wedding special. We highly recommend him!

His personality, wit, and class are so in line with us, our friends, and family, that we knew we needed to make him a part of our wedding in some way. We hired him as MC about 9 months before our reception, and really had no idea what he would be doing. You see we were having an elegant formal event without the traditional wedding conventions: no bridal party, no bouquet toss, no cake cutting, no garter, etc. We spent these pre-wed months wondering how exactly to use Neville's skills and talents. So, a few weeks before, we had a phone call to discuss our plans. All we had come up with is that our guests were a lively gregarious group that love to dress up, dance, and party. Neville said, 'don't worry about a thing, I got it!' On the night, he exceeded our vision and hopes, and took our wedding to another level. He represented our vision of a sophisticated, elegant, and energetic event. He instantly meshed with our crowd, and brought the best out of friends and family, keeping the party going and the dance floor alive. He made our night spectacular! Act fast if you're thinking about hiring Neville, because this guy stays busy for good reason. A dapper symbol of class, his personality is gold, and to our surprise he's got dance moves. A genuine talent!

Everyone says that there are just a few variables that really matter when making an event special, and music is absolutely at the top of that list. I'm sure that there are plenty of options for bands in the Southern California area, but I can't imagine that any of them could match the energy, playlist range and crowd reading ability of West Coast Music. We've been to a number of weddings with live music over the years, and successfully covering modern hits along with the oldies-but-goodies is a rare ability. Our band leader and artists were so incredibly talented (think limbo-ing mid song) and kept the party going throughout the entire night. I loved working with the helpful, knowledgeable office staff in the lead-up, too (and thank them for dealing so professionally with a brief moment of bridal panic!), and they helped us expertly script the flow of the reception to maximize the fun factor. After fulfilling the guests' requests for "one more song!" at the end of the night, the leader came up to me with a cell phone that had been dropped on the dance floor. That was icing on the cake for my amazing experience with West Coast Music. I can't recommend them more highly for a wedding, gala or any other special event.

They created a musical experience for a great price that perfectly reflected our vision. They pretty much customized EVERYTHING from the music, to the band, to the schedule. Speaking of the schedule, their knowledge and experience helped ask and answer many questions about the evening that hadn't been asked by us, our caterer, our florist, etc. Our wedding would have moved like an old desktop computer if not for Robby's efficient and informed scheduling and planning. Now on to the wedding itself. ALL we asked for was to learn a few songs by our favorite bands. For the musical experience to be funky and cool and feel totally organic. To have our a band that only played our ideal instruments (I don't like sax in rock bands, hey, I can't help it.) To have the Jewish music sound like real funk and have all the songs flow together without pause. Oh, and to do it all on our limited budget. Spotlight did it all and more. They played songs we asked for but said they didn't know. They honored our "no-play" list despite some requests by drunken guests. They jammed right through from one set to the next without a break when the schedule changed and I asked them to just keep rocking. It really was an unbelievable experience working with Robby. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.
