Vicki did it again! She NEVER disappoints. This is our 3rd trip to Europe planned with Vicki. Technically this would have been our 4th but because of Covid in 2020, we had to cancel our trip to France. Vicki's expertise in every minute detail of our trip was thought out carefully and perfectly executed. For every trip that we have booked with Vicki, she has always advised us to purchase travel insurance. Thank goodness for her insight as our France trip had to be cancelled in March of 2020 due to Covid, we recovered every cent that was prepaid when we cancelled. This summer, we booked a 3 week trip to Italy for our family of five. I knew that I wanted to visit the Puglia region, Amalfi Coast, and Tuscany. Aside from these three general regions, I left it up to Vicki to help decide what cities within these regions to stay. We also wanted to have a car rental to explore but also travel by train because my husband loves to travel by train. Our 3 week journey went seamlessly well. We visited Matera, Bari, Lecce, Positano, Sorrento, Florence, Lake Como and Milan. Vicki made sure our car rental was large enough to fit our five carry ons suitcases and three teenagers for 11 days. Vicki suggested not having a rental car in Lake Como as it's better to use ferries to travel in the area. Our hotels was always centrally located to allow us to walk to restaurants and sights. When we took the train to our next destination, our hotel was within a7-10min walk from the train station. Transfers from train station to hotel was planned, transport from hotel to airport was set in place. Everything that needed to be planned, Vicki was on top of it. From reminding us to renewal our passports to obtaining an international driver license, no stone was left unturned. The best part of working Vicki is that she knows our family likes and dislikes and was able to help us planned a trip that fits our personalities and needs. We did not get a generic itinerary, our itinerary was carefully curated with Vicki's expertise in the region. Our accommodations were top notch, always centrally located, and close to transportation. Even after arriving in the various cities, Vicki was sending restaurant recommendations for each city we were at. It was reassuring to know that she knew where we were while on our trip and that she was a text/call away if needed. I'm grateful to have an amazing travel agent in Vicki. She has made every trip we've had effortless, enjoyable, and memorable. I can't imagine planning a trip without Vicki's assistance. She's truly a gem. read more

We recently planned a graduation girls trip/cruise with Pam. She was very patient with all our questions and suggested an awesome hotel in Venice prior to our trip. At the start of our trip, we experienced a delayed flight, a missed flight due to the delay, then a canceled flight. My wife and I trusted Luxe travel for our honeymoon. Sharon was our travel agent and we had doubts from the beginning that she would not book the best hotels and we were right. We even got in touch with her boss who assured us that Sharon has done everything the right way and we were in good hands. Sharon told us we could get a discount on a hotel we wanted, but looking at the details that was not the case at all. It ended up being more than what was originally in the itinerary. Once we arrived at the hotel We tried to get a drink at the pool when we got in, no one would come up to us or offer a menu or anything. The initial room we stayed in, had a broken toilet and clogged sink. They moved us into an upgraded room which was the right thing to do, but that room had broken A/C! They had to come by our room multiple times to try to fix until they just offered to move us back to our original room since they fixed all the plumbing issues. We stayed her for two nights and had to move 3 times all on our honeymoon. Seriously don't stay here, the pictures are very deceiving and do not really show the true hotel. They didn't try once to make our honeymoon special, except to offer us a cheap $6 bottle of wine for the inconvenience. We contacted Luxe travel (in June when this initially all happened, which means this has been over 2 months!) to request a refund from the hotel and they were unsuccessful. She replied to one email and never updated us on the status of the refund. Instead, all the offered us was a $300 credit towards another stay. Why would anyone want to book thru this travel agency again? A $300 credit is meaningless. Find another travel agency. read more

Radio silence. We fly this Monday 5/30 and ever since we booked our airfare I have not been able to get in contact with Kim, Vicky or anyone at this company. Are they still in business? It has been 2 months since we booked airfare and despite emails and voicemails requesting help with airport transfers and tours in Paris (family trip for 15 people including children and infants!), no one will get back to me. (I even emailed the generic Luxe email). I previously used this company for a Maui trip and had a different experience, but now our extended family has this giant expensive vacation planned and no vacation actually planned. I just feel hopeless to find everything on my own in time. I do not recommend you use this company at all. They do not care for your business and will never contact you back. read more

Insert foot in mouth..... Ouch, hopefully you don't do the same to someones travel itinerary. Lesson for the day for on how to handle social media reviews, contact person directly so you actually look like you care rather than posting a totally false statement showing you didn't look into this issue at all. Need another reason to use an expert travel advisor rather than booking online yourself? Talk to anybody who has been trying to get a refund for cancelled international trips due to COVID-19. After months of haggling, I turned to my travel advisor Angela Miller at Luxe Travel for helping me get a refund for a sailing tour she hadn't even booked. London-based Yacht Getaways had required my final payment for a June sailing trip to Greece in the first week of March. Despite my written concern, staff assured me that the COVID 19 virus wasn't likely to affect my trip and the company would be sure to take care of me if it did. Within three days of making my final payment for two travelers, the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 was declared and by March 19, the trip was cancelled. When I asked for a refund, the company advised that it would give trip credit rather than refunds. (They claimed they had to pay their supplier - the yacht charter? - although the trip had been canceled more than two months out and I sincerely doubt they would have paid anything out by then.) Since I wanted an actual refund - not knowing how long COVID would be affecting travel - I went to my Capital One Visa card to ask for a chargeback. Capital One would not allow the chargeback, giving various vague nonsensical explanations (but that's another story). Yacht Getaways sales staff later volunteered they could "possibly" give a refund after July 31. Not hearing back yet, I followed up a week later. Another week passed before I was sent an email saying they would refund half my payment and provide the remaining half another year later. Five months of haggling for the full refund wasn't working. At last, I asked my travel advisor colleague Angela Miller, to call Yacht Getaways at their London office on my behalf. She quickly agreed, writing a detailed, impassioned email, stressing the importance of positive customer relations and good will to ensure future business. She advised me she would then follow up with a phone call to them, rising early for London Time. The call wasn't necessary -- Yacht Getaways' (Irma) came through the next business day, with an email saying I should be receiving my funds within two weeks. Expert Travel Adviser Angela Miller surely saved me at least another month's worth of frustration. As international COVID-19 travel restrictions continue, remember your expert travel advisor/agent is there for you, helping you get the best travel experience for your money and to help you sort things out if they go wrong. read more

My husband and I used Nathalie Douence, Travel Consultant at Luxe Travel, to help us plan and book our 10 day trip to Italy to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Every detail of the trip was first rate and made things very easy for us to navigate in a foreign country. We were so grateful that she had arranged drivers to pick us up from the airport and train stations, as well as arranging to have a young agent meet us in Venice at the train station to escort us to our water taxi and the young agent who accompanied us on our water taxi to the Venice airport who then assisted with checking us in. Even the train rides were a pleasant and fun adventure made even more special by having first class assigned seats. Each of the hotels was beautiful and unique, and conveniently located within each city. The hotels' staff were friendly and helpful. It was a treat to find a warm note and bottle of prosecco (as well as chocolate covered strawberries in Rome) from her waiting for us in each of our hotel rooms. I still dream about the amazing breakfast buffets provided by the hotels. They were not only delicious but a work of art in the way the food was displayed! We truly enjoyed each tour that she booked for us and appreciated her knowledge in selecting each tour in each city. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and made history come alive to us. Walking and exploring each city also became a highlight for us. I wouldn't have imagined that I would feel so safe wandering the streets of Rome at night. Also appreciated were the articles of advice for travelers that she shared with us. As this was my first European trip, I felt very prepared with what to pack, what to avoid, and safety tips. Ann Sinclair at Luxe saved my life once again. Adjusting travel on the move is routine for me and having an excellent travel agent has saved me time and lines at the airport during flight cancelations more than once. But this time was exceptional. Everything that could have gone wrong just about did except that Ann saved the day. I've been traveling for business for more than 30 years and constantly hear from my younger colleagues why I don't just book online. Well this trip is exactly why. I booked my trip three weeks in advance, Air, Hotel, a multi city, multi airline trip. On the day of departure my international trip was delayed by 3 hours impacting my connecting flight. While everyone in my situation from the flight was scrambling, waiting in long lines, frustrated and unproductive; I just called Ann, went to the Airline club and worked for 20 min while Ann solved the problem. I had to switch airports due to the delay. As I was walking out to switch airports, I saw the same folks in the long line trying to solve their issues. Upon arriving at the new airport, a delay was once again announced (the 737 Max issues seems to be impacting multiple flights). Instead of worry or wait I simply called Ann then continued to work. When a hotel situation in France surfaced I did the same. When a flight from Germany was canceled I did the same. All tolled just on the front half of my trip I've saved at least 5 hours of frustration and probably 2 hours just booking the trip initially. Instead I worked productively on emails, on the phone at dinner with clients. Never to worry that ultimately all will be solved. My salary exceeds the booking fee, my frustration cost more than time and my piece of mind is PRICELESS! Thank you Ann!! read more

I rarely write Yelp reviews. But some pictures popped up today on my Facebook page of my trip to Europe at this time last year. And that reminded me I have been meaning to Yelp about Kim Vetter at Luxe. Kim will take the time to get to know you and your "style" of travel. Her energy is infectious and her knowledge extensive. She admits she learns from each of her clients and builds her knowledge base as a result. She took my ideas, added some of her own and put together a flawless travel itinerary to the Netherlands, Belgium and France. She arranged for a private guide to pick me up at my hotel in Paris and take me on a four night five day excursion to the Normandy towns and beaches including Mont-Saint-Michel and back to Paris. My impression of Kim is that she really cares about her clients and puts extra effort into making their travel experience special. As for the Luxe facility, it is impressive, and quite comfortable.
