I really enjoyed Hamburguesa Nostra and wished they would open a restaurant in the States. There's a variety of burgers that you can easily customize. You can add different types of interesting sauces (such as garlic aioli, fire sauce, some avocado mayo, honey mustard, etc) that will make your burger tastes better. I ordered the truffle burger and devoured it. My burger was "medium rare", but it seemed a bit more red than I am used to. The meat tastes like high quality beef and I really enjoyed it! Even when it's crazy busy ive never had to wait long to put in an order or pay. The coffee is great and cheap and so are the pastries (the empanadilla de manzana is a personal favorite). If you're here for breakfast, I highly recommend the banana-espresso bread. I'm very much blessed to have this place to close to my apartment!!! It's amazing.

We started walking around the area and stumbled upon the Las Cortes Madrid location of La Mafia. This restaurant found us at a point in our trip where we were all craving Italian food. I am writing this review almost 2 months after the fact, so I do not recall exactly what everyone ordered but I know that I had the meat raviolis and they were FANTASTIC! My husband and our friends ordered a few things and rotated plates so that they could all share and try everything together. Fast forward to our last night on this trip, we had wonderful cocktails at a nearby rooftop bar and found that we were all starving, so we decided to go back to La Mafia on our walk to the hotel, there were 8 of us this time and again, everyone raved about the food, service and ambiance. I didn't realize this was a chain of restaurants until trying to leave this review. It appears that only one location in Madrid has a yelp page--so I am speaking to the location on Pl. de las Cortes, just a short walk from the Prado Museum! Highly recommend!
