Lush is a great option for a fun gift or to get an interesting soap, but their all-natural claims are not to be followed blindly.
Almost all of their products have parabens (although small levels) as well as sodium laureth-sulfates. I went in last week and asked if they had any all-natural shampoos without this toxic chemical and unfortunately the sales girl couldn't find one.
I must admit, I like this store and their bright colors, unique smells and intent on selling products that are not tested on animals. However, I recommend going in there informed and review the ingredients (even on the bar soaps) as it is important to make sure you know what you are buying.
For all-natural products one expects to pay more and you will see this on the price tags in Lush, but for shampoos that are still filled with sodium laureth sulfates it makes more sense to go to an organic shop and buy from a lesser known brand for sometimes even cheaper.
However, if you don't care that much about what is in your cosmetics, this is a fun cruelty-free store.
I would recommend trying their perfume (one of the few animal-free tested perfumes that actually smells great)! read more
