There is no way that you can avoid the soapy sweet smell of lush floating in the air when you are near to the store - it is simply impossible. That in itself is like a testament to how delightful their products are, all of which are hand made (with cute cartoon stickers of the person who made them stuck on each item!) and lovingly crafted. The ingredients used are all natural too which is great, the only downside being a lot of the more fruity products smell good enough to eat! The staff in here can be described alongside the products - bubbly, quirky and lots of fun! I was in here during the Christmas period and the shop was blooming heaving. The staff we as happy as ever though, helping overwhelmed husbands and curious girlfriends to choose their products. The manager of the shop also held a 'queue buster' whilst I was in store. This entailed getting the attention of the whole shop, the queue literally snaked round the entirety of the place at this point, and got everyone to do a Mexican wave! Embarrassingly enough I think I was the only one, other than the staff, who joined in on this but in exchange everyone in the queue received a free bath bomb for free! Now that is lush! Lush seems to employ the kind of happy, bubbly outgoing people that could well be Santas little elves in all their jolliness! They're always so enthusiastic and more than happy to chat with you about the product background and let you try the goods out. They also do lovely gift sets ranging from £5 upwards and have plenty of choice, so it's easy to find something different. I always buy 'Honey I Washed The Kids' which is a gorgeous honey bath soap. It really does smell delicious! I've heard many mixed views on Lush, most of them positive. A few however, have described the small of the producs a little over-bearing. Thank goodness for the ladies of Lush! Like most men I am useless when it comes to buying gifts for the wife, everything I buy always seems to be received with a fake smile or a confused expression. I know my wife loves smelly things and she always smells delightful but she has a whole dresser full of perfumes so I was really stuck for ideas, then a friend suggested Lush to me. What is this marvelous place of heavenly aromas that all the women in my office rave about? I went to investigate. As you walk up the road the gorgeous smells waft out into the street from the Lush store, even from three or four shops away the glorious fruity fragrances and spicy scents tickle your nostrils tempting you inside. I was personally greeted at the door and given the low down on the latest products etc. I must have looked a little lost, dazzled by the shimmering, sparkly haze of colours shining out from all corners of the room and then mixed with the divine perfumes, it really hypnotizes you. Yes I could get a fabulous gift for my wife in here, but what would my wife prefer? Everything is so...so LUSH! They have lotions and potions, bath salts and soaps, bubbles and bombs in every colour, shape, size and smell! The choice is endless but luckily i had two angels there to help me make decisions and guide me to the till......not that they needed to, they were not pushy or annoying like some sales people can be. They were spot on, just there should you need them, giving good suggestions and asking the right questions of me to find what my wife would enjoy the most. They really knew their stuff and understood the products they were selling. After around twenty minutes I was heading out of the door with a gift box and a pamper pack. I was happy with my purchase and my wife was happy with her present. Now when the women at work rave about it i too can join in and agree that a gift from Lush, really is Lush! read more

I love LUSH products in general, and I love this shop. It smells amazing, though that can be a downside as it can be quite overpowering when you first go in and sometimes I leave with a headache, this is because the whole array of products are on show, ready to be hand picked, so there are lots of mingling scents. Some of my personal favourites are 'The Comforter' bubble bar, 'Snow Fairy' solid perfume, and shower gel (Christmas specials sadly!), and the Tea Tree Toner. But I have never tried anything that I disliked. The staff in the Leeds LUSH are so lovely and friendly and ready to help you, or even have you sit while they give you a little lush pampering treat - the last time I went there they gave me a hand massage treatment which was lovely. They're not pushy either, they offer help but don't keep nagging you if you tell them you're browsing. It's just a really nice relaxed atmosphere with lovely staff. read more

When it comes to businesses that are on the 'earth friendly' band waggon I'm a bit of a cynic as it's often just a good way to reach another demographic and increase profits. *steps down from soap box (how apt)* I like Lush and I'm sure they really are earth friends (at least for the foreseeable future). I must admit I find the smell in Lush at times too over powering however this is easily over come by the very friendly staff who are always welcoming and helpful. My son suffers from Eczema but the honey I washed the kids soap and its raining men have done wonders for his skin. You cant go wrong buying this stuff for any aunts or inlaws its always gone down well for me read more

MMMMM! That's what you have to say when you walk past Lush. Except it's rare that you can just walk past, because the smell is so very tempting that you have to go in and buy some stuff. My favourite Lush items are: 1) Angel's Delight Soap (only comes out at Chrimbo!) 2) Joy of Jelly shower jelly (you can even freeze it!) 3) I love Juicy shampoo (someone bought me it because it rhymes with my name - it is very nice in its own right though!). Lush offers a massive amount of novelty soaps and skincare products. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the overpowering smell of their products - they have a huge collection of all kinds of fruity, flowery scented things. I must clarify that if it were not for my girlfriend I probably wouldn't have gone in, but the one major problem that I noticed was the over-eagerness of the staff - please allow me to browse for 1 minute before you jump on me to show me your products! I am a big fan of Lush products but have to mail order because the smell coming out of there is so strong I can barley walk past without feeling sick. I did think it was because they have so many products with differant scents it was so bad but I have been told by a friend that started working for them they spray scents near the doorway to try entice customers. Another birthday...another spa visit! This time I went for the Validation facial and the Tailor Made massage, where you pick your most painful spot and they work on that. My appointment was made for 1:30pm, but on the day, I had a phone call from the lovely Sally-Ann saying that there'd been a double booking and there would be someone else coming in at 1:30pm, so could I possibly come in for 1pm instead. Of course, I said yes. Why delay my epic pampering session any longer?! I arrived and of course, the staff upstairs were their usual awesome cheery selves. Lindsay was all set to pamper me a bit before I went down to the spa, but lo and behold, David, one of the therapists (who's French) appeared and so the mini-pamper was put on hold while I went down to the spa. As before, we started with a consultation, which would usually be done upstairs, but with it being three weeks before Christmas and absolutely heaving, David had brought all the necessary items down to the spa. The facial consultation obviously takes a bit longer because you get to choose exactly what gets used on your skin, so we did that one first. David talked me through all the products - cleansers, serum bars, moisturisers etc... all the while asking me questions about my usual routine and the products I do use or have used in the past. Once I'd picked an item, it was arranged on a black slate in the order that they would be used. Awesome. After that was done, we moved on to the consultation for the Tailor Made, where I pointed out the areas that were giving me problems (back and shoulders) and then picked out a massage bar. Then it was in to the therapy room for the pampering to begin. I had the Tailor Made first, which lasted for about 30-40 minutes. To say I felt incredible afterwards would be an understatement! I felt like I was walking on air and my back felt amazing. I then went and sat out in the waiting area with a cup of tea while David sorted out the room for my facial. While I was sat there, Sally-Ann came down and we had a chat. She thanked me for coming in early and as a little thank you present, gave me a bath ballistic, which was amazing. Time for the facial and back in to the therapy room I went. It was amazing, the use of the hot cloth to remove the products felt incredible on my skin and it left my face glowing - which is always a good thing in the midst of winter! An hour later and it was all over, sadly. David left me to change and finish off my drink - which was very fruity and had a strawberry in it, but I've no idea what it actually was! Tasty though. Back out in the waiting area, where I met the other lady who my appointment was set to clash with. David and I chatted amongst ourselves for a bit and he then presented me with a gift box, which I was speechless at, and told me to consider it a birthday present from the spa team. Well, it's safe to say there was a considerable spring in my step as I walked back upstairs! As I was leaving, I got a massive hug off one of the staff upstairs and then I went on my way, feeling incredible - even the cold that descended on me later in the day (one of my boyfriend's birthday presents to me, so I keep telling him) didn't dampen my spirits. Thanks Lush, for yet again giving me an amazing birthday. I'm now planning my next visit! read more

Lush has always been one of those places that the tomboy-clean-shower-smell loving side of me always despised. I used to resent the fact I'd walk down Commercial Street and a waft of scent would cover me like a cloud as I tried to walk on by. Then came the day I needed to buy a gift for a bath loving girly scented organic indulgent type of person. Then like a sensory alarm bell, Lush sprung to mind. I walked in kind of bewildered, as I was overly perplexed on how a place could generate an income and regular custom out of bath products. I was approached by a lovely young lady, who seemed to sense my combined disdain and confusion, did I mention she was in an apron. Why an apron? Is it messy work this bath and shower malarkey? Anyhoo, after reluctantly taking up her offer of help I explained my predicament and was instantly shown a wonderful sensetastic and colourful, yet practical mind, array of bath bombs, bars and bahoosits. When I poked at something and said "whassthat?", the assistant kindly broke a bit of whatever took my fancy off into some water, mixed it up and created a demo. I must say, I was instantly hooked with the prospect of purple bathwater (it doesn't take much to amuse me) and the sheer full scented flavour of the product. I've never looked at a bar of soap in the same way again. Soon enough we were wandering around the gift boxes and the assistant was informing me what we've just looked at in relation to what was in the box, complete with prices, and little added extra tidbits, like the fact the gift tag actually had seeds in it that could be planted afterwards, awh cute! There were also a few offers in relation to single items that the assistant also informed me of. Informed being the operative word, nothing was forced on me at any point, and there was no pushy attitude, the staff were all really helpful, and I ended my time in Lush with a gift, a sampling of body lotion which I could smell all afternoon, and a change of heart about the place. Who doesn't enjoy the smell of Lush when you walk past? Seriously it is just the best thing. Although if I had to work there I think I would be sick at the smell, about 10 minutes of being in there its potency becomes a bit too much to withstand. This place has no faults; everything they sell is just divine. They are known for their handmade, completely natural products and I don't know anyone who hasn't tried something from Lush. Everyone has to try one of their bath bombs, 6 years after having my first one (I guessed how many years, I didn't actually keep count), they are still as exciting, dropping it into the bath with an array of flowers floating around the bath, what gets better than that after a long days work? Its dead in the centre of town and if you don't smell it you will see it not far from Next. Its perfect location makes this a very busy shop however every member of staff is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and there to attain you're every need. My recommendation is to buy any bath bomb, they are fantastic, and they often have experiments for you to try out before you buy. Also their jelly shower gel is incredible and gooey, very innovative. read more

I love this shop. As pinkystan says it's hard to resist the smell of a Lush store as the unmistakeable aroma hits you a hundred yards down the street, and this is a really good shop. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and friendly so that it is virtually impossible to pop in without being warmly greeted. I haven't had anything from Lush that isn't nice - but the Karma range - soap, bath bomb etc. is particularly nice. I used to just buy bath bombs and bubble bars but my current obsession is the soap. Sure you pay four quid for a bar of soap that lasts less than a week but the luxury you feel washing with these is worth it. All are superb but they had a pumpkin one recently to celebrate Halloween that was really glorious. read more

The are so helpful and know everything about the products and are happy to make suggestions to you.
