The doorman, unprovoked, called me a "loud mouth" and made some weird, patronising comments about my age (I'm 33) because others in the group were in their 20s. He also said if I could sing, why wasn't I on Idol instead of being at a karaoke bar, which made zero sense and just felt unnecessarily rude. It was especially humiliating because I had just met a few people in the group and had been having a great night up until then. We walked in to give the place a chance but left after two minutes because the atmosphere was completely flat. As we left, I asked the doorman if his comments were targeted, since I was the only brown woman in the group, and he kept going, shouting after me down the street. It really soured what had been a lovely evening up to that point. I'm sharing this so others know what to expect, and it's clear that others have had similar experiences here. There are loads of other karaoke bars in Amsterdam that are way more welcoming and fun. Avoid this one.

This included using equalizers to add head-room to your song, how to use synthesizers to make his own sounds, how to structure and master songs, how to use audio samples, how to layer sounds, how to use compression/sidechain compression, routing, how to use distortion and saturation to add perceived loudness, and much more (I can,t even understand what I'm writing LOL) He also got the chance to DJ on a boat during King's Festival and was invited by Boris, the school owner, to the Summer Energy Festival in Amersfort! The teachers were very professional, knowledgable and flexible some times even allowing him to stay some extra time practicing his lessons at school. He even became really good friends with his teacher! Boris was also very helpful during the entire process from our very first conversation to suggesting places for my son to live in and even inviting him to his house for a family farewell dinner and ride to the airport on his way back home. He comes with creative ideas for the attendees to pose for his colorful photographs. And he is always friendly, makes you feel at ease, is extremely reliable and professional. I also had Dennis take my professional portrait for my LinkedIn profile picture. I was very pleased with the result; lighting, pose, color and composition, it was all on point. Dennis has an amazing eye for detail; I even noticed he added extra eyelashes in my picture when I compared the before and after picture of post-processing. I was very interested to see Dennis' fashion photography work, when I was at his place for my portrait picture. Dennis showed his beautiful work for the Shuz campaign. He explained with great passion the creation process from concept to end result. Dennis is a great photography talent and I would love to see more of his creative work in fashion.

Friendly. Professional. Talented…read more That's all you really need to know. But I will tell you that Dennis is one of the friendliest people I have met. He has this amazing way of getting you to feel completely comfortable even though you know he's around an event snapping away. The photos he takes are so stunning. He finds angles that I wouldn't have ever though of, his composition is right on the money, and he catches the right moment with smiles, hugs, drinks and laughter. Oh and light! He knows how to use it! I truly appreciate his work. His photos are more than just snaps in time - - they give the feeling that takes me back to that moment. THAT is what you want from a photographer!
