Some of the guests from our hotel said the food here is good. So, based on their recommendation, we came to check it out for ourselves. Please be aware it is a hit or a miss based on what you order. In our case it was 50/50. Other guests in our hotel said they loved it. So perhaps it will help you in making the right choices when you visit here. If you are from Vancouver, do yourself a favor, please don't eat here. Everyone else, lower your standards before you enter. The wonton soup was lukewarm. Wontons were tasteless and mushy (like previously cooked and added after the fact) (it also felt like wonton that was collected from leftovers and served to other customers). That may not be true but that's what it felt like because the filling literally had no taste at all. Cost of soup is $16.95 Moo Shu Beef was the redeeming dish @$25. Friendly staff, delicious dim sum. A bit of wait for the dim sum but the other food came very quickly and was yummy

After a week in British Columbia dining on "Canadian cuisine", we were ready for some Chinese food. I must admit we were a bit skeptical about eating at a tourist attraction in such a rural setting. We arrived shortly before noon and found the restraurant empty. The staff explained that they had reservations for 40+ school children on a field trip within the hour. Our servers were kind and attentive, and we enjoyed the fried rice the most. Even 4 months later my wife still raves about their "Imperial fried rice" (or soemthing like that) with shrimp and pork. The beef chow fun ("wide noodles" on the menu) was flavored with a bit too much soy sauce, but it was still better than we expected. They offer dim sum, but we didn't try it. After eating and enjoying some tea, we left just as the first waves of school children arrived. The best thing about Lung Duck Tong was finding good food so conveniently located. We did not have to settle for basic tourist fare or leave Barkerville to find a good lunch. It helped us to enjoy our day in Barkerville at a more casual pace. read more

We went here for lunch while in Barkerville and found food very good. It was during COVID and so the restaurant was not as full due to reduced number of tables...we only observed 2 staff, one gentleman server and and older lady (cook?) and they were both run off their feet; could have used some more help but regardless, the food really was good & flavourful (we both have the combination # 42) and we would recommend and for sure go back. read more

After working in Barkerville for the summer, you learn quick what the locals like, and thats the Szechuan Beef (Just the right amount of spicy goodness) Bean Curd Rolls, and the Moo Shu Pork. Everything else is great too. One word of advice would be not to get the combo meals. Thats straight up tourist food. They're good, but you're not going to get the unique Barkerville taste you came for. Don't be so boring, let your tastebuds explore. read more

The place came with a name, with history. And it was good. So we were very surprised to hear the other guests in our BnB describe the meal as bad. Nonetheless we had reservations and proceeded, deciding to order something that they had not. I must say that this is possibly the worst chinese food that I have ever had, and I have had a lot. It wasn't even just plain and boring. It tasted bad. The fried rice was unique, never having had that flavour before. It was inedible. The sauces were bland and over starched to the point of gluey. The chicken was flavourless. The vegetables overcooked. Unfortunately your eating options are slim in town and I would still recommend a drive over a meal at this place. read more

Terrible meal. Food was cold, even the soup. Chicken wasn't chewable, couldn't even cut it with a knife. When brought to the waitresses attention she loudly and repeatedly discussed it with other staff but did nothing about it. Will never eat there again. Zero stars read more
