For me, it was done remotely, although after me telling them 3 times I would not be there and my RE agent once, the day before the closing I get an email asking if I was going to be there, 6 hours away, the next morning. There were several liens in the packet that were not even my social. I had asked to have 3 days notice to get a notary at my bank since they are open for that type of business by appointment...obviously that did not happen. They wanted the notary to put the incorrect date on the paperwork, which of course she would not do. I got a call the day before closing telling me that they could not read my Emails, transferred me to the person handling the paperwork and she kept insisting no one had called me. In the paperwork I sent them prior I attached a copy showing the condo fee was paid through the month of June. I did notice they had charged the buyer HOA for June also. Wonder if he noticed? Just a few examples...maybe this is not the type of law they normally do. They certainly did not earn their fee

Back in CT, that would be a slap on the hand and the kids would be on their merry way. Not in SC! The laws and court system were completely different than what we knew back home.
