I had bunch at Lulu's Restaurant on a Sunday morning. Arriving early paid off because the restaurant wasn't too crowded. The restaurant became busy while we were eating. I heard good things about Lulu's red velvet waffle. My mind was made up on ordering the red velvet waffle. Lulu's red velvet waffle is served with pecan cream cheese and fruit. I liked the presentation of my meal. The red velvet waffle definitely lived up to the hype (delicious).I enjoyed each bite of the waffle. The pecan cream cheese served with the waffle made my taste buds jump. The pecan cream cheese complimented the waffle better than maple syrup. The waffle was small (not as big as a Belgian waffle). If the waffle was bigger,I would bump Lulu's up to a 4. Service was average. The employees were friendly. Parking is hit or miss especially on weekends. After my previous review, the manager, Duncan, reached out and apologized for the service (or lack of). He hoped that we could give the cafe a second shot and offered a round of drinks on the house. Because the brunch we had was really good, we decided to go back for a second time - and this time, for dinner. The dinner was just as delicious as the breakfast! We had fries, empanadas, spicy shrimp tacos, the bacon and egg burger, and camarones con arroz (mix of seafood items). We all enjoyed our orders. My tacos weren't really spicy, but they had great flavors. The burger was humongous, and anything with eggs is just pure awesome. The drinks/cocktails were good. I think my friends especially loved the Strawberry Mule. I found the drink a bit strong - which is not good for me since I'm slightly allergic to alcohol, but awesome for everyone else! We went on a Saturday night. It was not particularly busy, and we did find that the service was still a bit slow. However, our server Mollie was super friendly and sweet. She apologized for the delay at the beginning and was attentive throughout the night. Overall, this visit did change how I feel about Lulu's, and will be back more often! I still think the food is a solid 4 star, but I am impressed with the manager's customer service - addressing our concerns in a professional and friendly manner. Went in about 930am for breakfast on Sunday, asked if we had a reservation. The restaurant as a whole was empty and we were seated in the other room where the bar and coffee bar were. Nothing on your site states Reservations only for the weekend. Server was great, food was decent. Made reservations at Lulu's at 2:45 on a Sunday and when we got there there were no tables for us, however the hostess and manager went out of their way to make sure we would get in in time for brunch since we had a reservation. Had to make the reservation pretty late due to my parents getting into town later but I recommend getting there before 2:30pm. The kitchen had run out of potatoes which was kind of a bummer, I think we were all looking forward to some breakfast potatoes but the wait staff and manager let us know that we could substitute with basically anything we wanted. If you're a bloody Mary fan definitely get the Chesapeake Bloody! It was way more flavorful than the jalapeño, so skip that and get the Chesapeake, it won't disappoint. Three of us ordered the fried chicken and red velvet waffles with a biscuit instead of the potatoes, it also came with gravy and scrabbled eggs. Everything was amazing, couldn't recommend it more, the chicken was literally perfect, I could've eaten just the chicken. BUT the waffles were so good too, perfect combination. If you happen to run into the issue of no potatoes definitely get a biscuit, it was definitely home made and just so perfect with the gravy. Brazenly unapologetic about getting my oder wrong... I'm a vegan, and take total responsibility for my diet when I eat out. I'm no stranger to ordering the side of green beans and calling that a meal. I ordered a greek salad, listed as having a red wine vinaigrette, without the feta. "I'm vegan," I say. "Is that doable?" No problem, the waitress told me. It comes out and its covered in a cream-based dressing. That's when I was told they don't have any vegan options and aren't willing to try. Totally unwilling. Really happy I found this spot for brunch! What a gem! First let me recommend the Momosa. I love breakfast cocktails and this is one of the best - it's champagne, pomegranate liquor and oj AKA happiness in a glass. My usual brunch entree is huevos rancheros and I love comparing different versions. Lulu's huevos rancheros were delish, I polished my plate off no problem. It was a bit messy and I wish that the fried eggs weren't soooo runny but the mix of black beans, onions and cheese on the corn tortilla shell was on point! I tried some of the steak burrito and it had a solid amount of steak in it which was not grizzly at all and prepared well. I also tried the Bacon Bloody Mary which was made with bacon infused vodka and topped with celery and bacon. Overall a heavenly brunch with above average service! Yay! read more

Sigh. Another extremely average brunch location. I went in with a friend at 10 AM on a Sunday morning. The restaurant had some tables filled, but we were still seated immediately. Note: if you arrive about 30 minutes after this, you will experience a wait. SERVICE- 1 STAR We experienced poor service from beginning to end, unfortunately. I would have given it 1 star, but I thought the food deserved at least an "a-ok" rating. The waitress did not come to our table for 10 minutes after we were seated, did not introduce herself, and rushed us immediately to order. After we ordered, she brought us the check before we were even done eating (by about 15 minutes!), didn't ask us if we wanted dessert (I didn't, but you should always ask), and then kept our change without asking! I almost called the manager about this part. I always tip, even if the service is mediocre; however, it is very unprofessional to not ask a patron if they need change. She kept $3 of my friend's money and $2.50 of mine. Seriously uncool. FOOD- 2 & 3 STARS, respectively I order the CHICKEN AND RED VELVET WAFFLE. I enjoyed the texture of the waffle; the flavor of the chicken and gravy was fine. It did not blow me away as I was expecting. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the overly salted, oily potatoes and peppers on the side. My friend ordered one of the BRUNCH SPECIALS: a biscuit with apple sausage, poached eggs, and hollandaise. The biscuit was good- buttery, dense, and moist. The apple sausage was tasty. The apple flavor was more prominent than most apple sausages I've had previously. I liked it! Her hollandaise was fine and the poached egg was also...fine. Her dish also came with a side of oil-- I mean, potatoes and peppers and flaccid asparagus. I didn't find that they took much care in preparing the dishes, nor did the server deliver a pleasant experience. I am also not a fan of Mlllie's over-priced plates of oil. Great place to brunch. The red velvet waffles...are on point... However, I did not have those this time around. Instead I opted for a burger and potatoes. Good stuff! The potatoes are good. The burger was nice and thick. Definitely a filler. There's a lot of tasty dishes on the menu so you definitely should find something to feast on. The staff is very friendly as well and they don't skimp on the adult beverages. The Brazilian Mimosa will definitely have you feeling some kind of way. ;) read more

Went here for brunch on Saturday morning. We made reservations ahead of time which was great because we sat down right away. Our server came right over and took our drink order. Food was great. There is nothing more I could have asked for from LuLu's throughout our entire experience. Our group of 5 unsuccessfully got into the the neighboring competition named C'est le Vin (when they were supposed to be open). LuLu's accepted us with open arms and a big smile, starting with the hostess. Our server, Sarah, was beyond amazing. She always kept a positive attitude and anticipated our needs. She took our drink & entree orders while also giving great recommendations when we were undecided. Close to closing time? "No worries" said Sarah! Every drink and food order was made correctly and deliciously. I tried every dish that came out of our group, so I know. Delectable, every single bite. Promise! Sarah consistently came by to check on us and anticipated our needs. She even asked with ease if we'd like our checks separated, although no server really wants to go through the hassle. All with a smile. I am beyond appreciative with how comfortable Sarah made us feel. She should be proud of how well she does her job & keep up the good work. I've never been to Lulu's before. My friends and I decided we would go out this morning instead of our usual at home brunch as no one really felt like cooking. We arrived just after 10AM and asked for a table for four. The restaurant was practically empty-Maybe three or four tables sat and an empty bar. The hostess was initially very friendly and asked if we had a reservation. We did not. She was immediately displeased and made it seem like it was a really big issue (I can see the reservation list on the monitor behind her). She stopped, looked around and in almost a snooty tone said "Well, I guess we can do it this time but next time try to make a reservation". Yes, this is exactly the tone I want to start my Sunday morning off with. How rude. Our server was very nice. Her attire seemed a little odd for a restaurant worker. She was wearing sneakers, jeans, and a black zip up hoody zipped about 1/3 of the way. An emphasis on casual, I guess. That was fine but I was a little put off that her long hair wasn't tied back and she had sunglasses on top of her head. Other than that she was helpful in answering our questions and delivering our beverages and meals in a timely friendly manner. We certainly did not want for anything. The food was excellent. Prices are very fair and timing was great. My friends got one of the omelettes on special and Red velvet waffle. So good! I got the Shrimp and Grits. The eggs were poached perfectly and there was no shortage of shrimp in my dish. Very flavorful and really hit the Sunday Brunch spot. Our plates were cleared as each person finished and checks were right on time. The only "issue" was I was charged for a Brazilian Mimosa when I had ordered the poinsettia- only a dollar difference so I didn't care to dispute it. Over all a very good experience. The decor is fun and it has the perfect amount of light (some places just seem so dark). I would have given it a 5 star rating but the host was rude and even if it was an issue there is a right way to address it and a wrong way. read more

I came here for brunch. A very trendy atmosphere, friendly and quick service can be found at this restaurant. I ordered the crab and asparagus omelette. The omelette was pretty good, but wasn't hearty enough to me. I felt as though it was lacking cheese or some other type of filling. The potatoes that came with it were cooked perfectly and were very delicious, but needed just a little bit of help from the salt and pepper shakers. Three other people I dined with ordered the bloody mary and said it was the best they've had. I don't like bloody mary's, but it wouldn't hurt to try it if you stumble upon this little restaurant. I had a good experience, but I think I ordered the wrong dish, so I'll be coming back here to try the Lulu's florentine or Chorizo ;P read more

Since Lulu's is the creation of the same restaurant genius that's behind Millie's, I was all ready for a happenin' place with unique food and drink offerings. On a recent Saturday brunch visit, however, we found instead a pleasant but pretty average place, not at all like Millie's but still a decent place for a meal. The restaurant is on 17th Street, across from the Farmer's Market and Main Street Station, and just a few blocks walk from the Poe Museum --- a good location if you're out being a tourist in Shockoe Bottom. It's one of several small restaurants in that block, and their brunch menu seemed to offer a good mix of the usual brunch favorites and some more unique (we thought) combinations of eggs and other ingredients, a la Millie's "messes" (again, we thought). I ordered a chorizo special, and my wife had what sounded like a variation on huevos rancheros. Mine turned out to be a whole grilled chorizo sausage, two fried eggs and fried potatoes, all pretty greasy and just basic diner food. My wife was served two fried eggs on tortilla chips, black beans, red sauce, cheese and fried potatoes, also pretty basic stuff. When you're primed and ready for a "mess," this was pretty disappointing. We may have just hit it at the wrong time (Sat, around noon), but the restaurant also lacked any feeling of excitement or "spunk" that we so enjoy at Millie's. The place was about 3/4 full when we were there, but it seemed pretty sterile and sort of felt like a cafeteria --- order you food, eat your food, leave. The hostesses and waitstaff are all young and try to be energetic, but never seemed to quite pull it off. They're efficient and pleasant, but seem more like high school girls than the characters that serve at Millie's. I think our problem was one of expecting another Millie's, and being disappointed that Lulu's was just a pleasant, average restaurant with average food. What a breakfast! This is a gem of a place. Spurred on by the ratings on Yelp and detailed reviews, I picked this spot for breakfast with my lady friend this morning. Stepping out from the semi-bleak, tired cityscape into LuLu's, we were greeted by friendly staff and wonderful decor. Simple yet industrial, with hints of Americana, I felt comfortable in a casual yet classy scene. The simple menu had so many solid choices, it took a few minutes to choose what we would have. The French roast coffee I sipped while deciding was smooth and strong, better than any restaurant coffee I can remember. I skipped the adult beverage while my companion enjoyed her mimosa, which she said was excellent. Upon the advice of our server, we stuck with the biscuits and gravy and huevos rancheros that caught out attention from the menu. The food was served quickly and at the correct temperature. Unfortunately, the huevos rancheros came with the rancheros sauce on top, as opposed to on the side as it was ordered. This was identified as a kitchen error and promptly sent back as we got to work on the biscuits and gravy. The eggs were done perfectly, potatoes were amazing. The gravy and sausage were DELICIOUS atop buttery, hearty biscuits that had just enough crisp baked unto them. Beware if you're sensitive to spice as these had quite a kick! I love spicy foods so this was right up my alley, while being maybe a notch or two too hot for my friend. The Sriracha drizzled on the edge of the plate went well with the creamy, rich gravy. Not your traditional country gravy, which is just what I needed. It's nice to see they took license with a classic breakfast and hit a home run. The second attempt at the huevos rancheros arrived with the sauce on the side but the eggs not cooked to order. The server noticed upon checking back (major points for attention to detail), and offered to send it back again but we decided to eat them as is. They were great. The pico de gallo was fresh, with diced (not seeded) jalapeño that had a nice heat. The ranchero sauce had plenty of garlic, and it was so good I actually ate it straight out of the ramekin on its own! The server asked us to choose a dessert on the house a minute or two before the manager stopped by to apologize for the "huevos debacle". We told her it was fine and that we'll definitely come back. Our Guinness cake was awesome. Great taste and texture... The Bailey's buttercream icing was light and whipped. Our overall experience was excellent. No wait, great food, topnotch service in a clean and attractive environment... This place fully deserves the five stars we feel it has earned today! read more

***BRUNCH REVIEW*** Seriously. One of the best brunches I've had in the past year. The food was delicous and the service was great! We couldn't help but take a bite from everyone else's dish. The chorizo fritatta? OMG so good. Topped with savory ground chorizo sausage and chunky guacamole. The guacamole tasted better than most of the Mexican restaurants I've been to. The side of potatoes was cook perfectly. The steak and eggs brunch special was fantastic! The tender, well-seasoned beef with poached eggs was a party for my palate! Lastly, the red velvet waffle is a gay gasp away from being the best waffle I've ever had! Topped with pecan cream cheese and strawberry campote...this would satisfy any sweet tooth! My brother was recently visiting from out of town. After our adventures on Saturday night we were thinking about where we could have brunch the next morning to fuel us up for our next set of adventures. The spot we landed on was Lulu's. A go-to in Richmond for brunch. The hype did not disappoint. We got to Lulus a little after 9. There was a decent size crowd, but the restaurant was not full. It had a comfy, but hip vibe. The service was prompt. I had my liquid necessities of black coffee, water and mimosa almost immediately. After some thought, my brother decided to go with the eggs Benedict and I went with the omelet. The food was not over done, or over the top. The food delivered exactly as it stated on the menu, which I can appreciate. My plate was not overwhelmed with breakfast potatoes, and my omelet was not watery or stuffed to the point of it being unappealing. The food was fresh and exactly what we needed for the day. Half way through eating I finally decided to take a look around the restaurant again, and it was packed! There was a definite wait, but at no point did we feel rush. We've just returned from a uniquely disappointing brunch at LuLu's. The two stars I did add are entirely for our server, who was lovely and very personable, and the space itself, which is cute. The ($7) mimosa was almost entirely filled with ice cubes and served in a pint glass. The French Toast was covered in the promised cinnamon creme fraiche and strawberry compote; however, both toppings were cold, as was the syrup on the side, which was brought to the table in a small plastic to-go container. The cinnamon wasn't detectable in the creme fraiche. The plate was also cold, which meant instead of the sweet treat French Toast is meant to be it was a gloopy, mushy, cold, saccharine letdown. In addition to the French Toast I ordered a side of regular toast and an over-easy egg. While the over-easy egg was well made (runny yoke, solid white), the toast was only broiled, almost to the point where it was black, on one side and didn't come with any butter, jelly, etc. Our server had to bring the spreads separately. Despite having some burnt edges on one side, because of the lack of toasting on the underside of the bread it wasn't remotely crunchy like toast should be. My dining partner ordered the Huevos Rancheros. When the dish arrived at the table the plate was positively swimming in grease. The tortillas were soggy and grease-soaked. He said the home fries the dish came with were by far the best part. I know I've been spoiled by the calibre of brunches in DC, but every single time I've ventured outside the warm embrace of my favorite Richmond restaurant for brunch I've been incredibly underwhelmed by RVA's offerings. Came in on s busy Saturday during s festival and did not have a reservation. They said it would be 2 hour wait do we waited for the bar seating. Took about 10 mins to get it spot which was great. We sat down and Daria came up immediately and treated us with a huge smile on her face. She was excellent from beginning to end and had a wonderful spirit. I ordered the beef hash as per reccomendation. This is not a dish I would normally order but it was absolutely delicious. The hollandaise was exquisite and the brisket was tender and flavorful. Perhaps my expectations were too high after reading all of the positive reviews. It was a little frustrating that our 15 minute wait for a table turned into a 30+ minute wait because of reservation mix up with a large party which just created a domino effect. Definitely make reservations if you decide to go! We ended up snagging seats at the bar which ended up being a smart move and the bartender was great. However, the food & drinks were disappointing. The Bloody Mary's lacked spice and the horseradish flavor. I ordered the chicken and red velvet waffle which was simultaneously overcooked (the chicken) and under cooked (the waffle). It was difficult to cut the chicken because parts of it were so tough/crispy. Also, the accompanying gravy was bland. However, the potatoes and eggs on the side were very good. My husband enjoyed his shrimp and grits and I wished I had ordered that instead. read more

My new go-to spot for brunch! I wanted to wait until after my 3rd time eating here before reviewing so I could say that I've tasted at least 90% of the menu first. With that being said, everything was exceptional, except for 2 things that fell a little short of amazing (the mimosa was a little tart/bland, and the strawberry french toast wasn't really anything more than strawberries on top of regular french toast). The grilled corned beef is the perfect amount of savory/salty for the poached egg with hollandaise on top. If you want something more Millie's-esque, the chorizo frittata or the huevos rancheros are always a safe bet. The shrimp and pimento grits are a little runny, but still are delicious. I love the potatoes that come with most things, they're cripsy on the outside. Everything else has been at least pretty darn good. Don't forget to ask for the sriracha! I usually don't grade on service/ambiance unless there's something to be said about it. But LuLu's is roomier than Millie's with a more modern look, and the servers/bartender/hostesses are sweet and fun! read more

Lulu's offers nicely prepared comfort food without any pretense. The restaurant, located near Shockoe Bottom, is easy to pass by, as it is housed in (what appears to be) an old store. Like the exterior, the interior is quite rustic and unadorned, with just a few offbeat, artsy touches. The dinner menu was small, featuring just a few salads, entrees, and desserts. Most of the dishes are inspired by classic southern comfort foods: fried chicken, roasted pork loan, meatloaf, etc. I had a wonderful starter salad of mixed greens and tomatoes, tossed in a citrus vinaigrette ($5); not something I will remember for years, but refreshing and crisp. For my entree, I had the best version of chicken and dumplings I've ever tasted ($18.95): simple pulled chicken and thick strips of pastry in the most flavorful, addictive, thick chicken gravy you can imagine! I've thought about that dish time and again over the past few days, and just remembering it now brings me to salivation. Yes, it was THAT good! Unfortunately, my dining partner, who hates rare meat (!), was served a bloody steak that took away her appetite that evening, despite having ordered it medium-well (tragic, I know, but one should get what they order). I DOWNLOADED YELP TO WRITE THIS REVIEW. The service was incredibly unprofessional and rude. Our waitress told us she was "just trying to make money" and then proceeded to bring us our check and to go boxes when we still had half our food on our plates and 3/4 of our mimosas left. We had not asked for to go boxes *NOR* the check. After feeling rushed and like a burden, our waitress came back after 2 minutes of leaving the check on the table and picked it up to see if it was ready. After we gave her our cards she stared at us at the bar until we left. Overall, I would not go here. The food was good, but it is not worth the price and especially not worth the service. Brunch is supposed to be enjoyed, not a chore. But if you do go, get the red velvet waffles, they're dank. read more

I went with a group of friends and we all had a taste of each other's dishes - there wasn't anything I didn't love other than their less-than-par mimosa. I ordered the crab and asparagus omelet which came with a side of potatoes. The omelet came out perfectly cooked with just the right ratio of each ingredient. My stomach was very happy! I am also a personal fan of "crunch", so the crispy and flavorful potatoes (with an extra drizzle of Sriracha on my behalf) hit the spot. Other dishes I had the pleasure of trying were the grilled corned beef (served under two poached eggs and hollandaise), the strawberry french toast, and a special for the day that I can't remember the name of, but it was "breakfast fajita"-like. There were steak, peppers, and onions all scrambled with eggs served with tortillas and a side of zucchini. Full of flavor and super satisfying! And the grilled corned beef is a must-try. I enjoyed the strawberry french toast, but I do have a disclaimer - I think it's one of those dishes that you can really only have a couple bites out of before feeling overloaded with sugar! All-in-all, I fully enjoyed dining here and will definitely be coming back! I also had a similar not-so-great first experience here, in spite of the fact that's lots of local hipsters and foodies raved about it. I had lobster mac 'n cheese with a lot of mac and very little lobster, and the service was perfunctory at best. But, every restaurant has a bad day, and so does every server or bartender, so I'm always willing to give a place at least three meals to convince me I should be a regular. I do love the industrial look and feel of LuLu's...it would be just as at home in the East Village of New York as it is in the Bottom. read more

We went to check out Lulu's because Millie's was PACKED! I definitely don't regret the choice. Lulu's had a much more comfortable atmosphere and the food was delicious! They have a very diverse brunch offering and a group of six of us did our best to clear our plates before nearly falling into a food coma. The leftovers were just as good though, so it's ok if you don't finish. I have never eaten the food at Millie's, but I can't imagine it being too much better than Lulu's. Combined with the amazing food was a great atmosphere that was much much calmer than Millie's. (Millie's was crazy busy and we could barely hear ourselves think, much less have conversations). Ummm... Comfort has this place beaten by a long shot. The lobster fritters were pretty much a ball of dough over seasoned with old bay. Neither of us could taste lobster at all in them. I ordered meat loaf which was good, but not great. I prefer my own recipe. Mashed potatoes could have used some seasoning. My friend ordered rigatoni (which I told her not to). I said to leave pasta to the Italians (love you Mom!!!) but she went ahead and it was very lack luster. Half of the dish was not even sauced. Service and decor was great... but it could not make up for the lack of exciting food. It's not like Comfort belongs in NY or anything, but it's unfortunately setting the bar in Richmond. read more

Four of us had dinner here on a Friday night and for the most part, our food was good. I had the pork loin - the meat and the greens underneath worked great together and were tasty, but the potatoes on the side were bland in my opinion. My friend got the steak, which was seasoned very well- 5 stars for its taste. The other two in our party had dishes that were just OK (risotto, salmon). Our server was very polite and accommodating. I would give this place 4 stars, but am not due to the following: 1) It took a very long time for our food to come out, and the restaurant was dead while we were there. 2) The dessert menu was disappointing: two pies (key lime, buttermilk), a raspberry bar and a blueberry buckle. None of these tickled my fancy so I didn't try any of them. If I lived nearby and could walk here, I'd probably go back and give it another try. However, if I'm going to drive downtown for dinner, I'll probably go somewhere that I think will offer a little more. read more

Consistently good experiences here. I have had brunch twice and dinner once. Apparently they are only serving lunch right now. Good service at the bar. Great spot near the farmer's market. High end diner feel, but food is excellent. Just finished pork pupusas with poached eggs- delicious. Great spot near the Omni and Berkeley hotels. Update 11/1/13: New manager is changing the beer selection to go with all local beers on tap. Good move! read more

Woke up this morning ready for an Brunch at Millie's. After driving by and seeing 30 people standing outside it certainly proved that Millie's brunch was fantastic but I was on the verge of Hangry and could not wait. Quickly searched for another spot in Shockoe Bottom and found LuLu's (while writing this realized it was owned by Millie's) Atmosphere is chill with an industrial modern feel. After a small wait we decided to sit at the bar and eat. The bartender was fast and friendly. I ordered the Lobster Biscuit and it was amazing. Huge chunks of lobster, mushrooms and tomatoes mixed in with what looked like 4 eggs over the most delicious biscuits I have ever had. Needless to say I am no longer Hangry and quite full. My new favorite restaurant for brunch. Always great food, service and time with my friends.

Was here for a holiday party earlier in the week, and I think the restaurant made some errors in terms of planning and execution during the event... however, since most folks likely won't be having a corporate party at LuLus, I'll focus on what I ate vs. the service experience... Butternut squash soup- not bad, nothing remarkable. This is a pretty standard offering esp. in the fall and winter, and it was executed well but it was nothing I'd feel compelled to order again. The only thing that made it at all memorable was that I think they fried pumpkin seeds and put them on top, or something along those lines- there were some crunchy salty things in there... Sea bass- mine was undercooked. Was supposed to be pan-fried but only one side was seared. It was simply seasoned and would have been fine had it not been mostly raw. Creamed spinach- not as thick and creamy as I would have liked- it was definitely a very light cream. Also could have used some salt, and a little more seasoning overall (some nutmeg maybe)? Wouldnt get it again... Mac and cheese- really good. I could have eaten this all night. It was rich and flavorful and hearty, and there were some crunchy cheesy bits as well. Brussel sprouts- These were served candied, and they were great. They were a bit more finely chopped than I would have anticipated but they had a great ratio of nuts to sprouts, and they were a tasty accompaniment to the other sides. Mashed potatoes- Also really good- creamy and thick and well-seasoned. Flan- Better than expected. I love flan but sometimes I find restaurants make it tasteless- this was nice and sweet and creamy, with an apparently homemade caramel sauce over the top that made me want to lick the plate :) Overall, the problem I had with the food is that there was nothing so stand-out that I'd go back, and there was no consistency in the items to make me want to take the risk of finding out of they really could serve a good complete meal. It's too bad because half of what I had really was good if not unique, which tells me they have promise... just perhaps some issues in their kitchen. read more
