I was looking for a software that protected my PDFs. I'm gathering my stuff for tax time to be sent electronically. I do have Acrobat reader, however, I wasn't interested in paying $15 a month just to have a less than five documents protected. I'm all about supporting software development but for something I'm going to be using less than once a year it seemed really pointless to pay for a membership. I feel that document production is something that should automaticallyincluded in most software's but that's an argument for another day. I did a quick Google search and came across this company that offers free password protection for PDFs for free in limited small quantities with a registered email. I was only PDFing no more than five documents and T slips for submission to my tax adviser. I'm overly paranoid about transferring over sensitive information, especially, documents that contains my social insurance number hence the extra protection step. The software was easy to use online. All I did was upload my document from my computer and it turned my desire PDF into a password protected document automatically for a quick download. . My only problem with the software is that after each time you transfer a file you get a pop-up to try and use their desktop feature. I understand that when you're paying for something free there's a lot of advertisements and up selling incentives. That goes without saying but you don't have to have a pop up every single time you do transfer file. Other than that this was a pretty awesome so far and I'm happy that this was available for free for such a small amount of batch protection. read more
