The buildings were connected by little alleyways and paths they you could walk to from store to store. There was plenty of parking along the streets and although this was an older, historic town, it was well-maintained. Be sure to check out the various placards and signs on some of the buildings to learn about their history. Cool spot! Lots of southwestern charm and pretty lampposts in this sleepy town.

The staff was very welcoming and wouldn't answer any questions that you have. Last, but definitely not least, it is a great engaging way to beat the heat in the summertime!

During my Father's ceremony our Youngest Son was still active Duty Army SF received the folded flag from the two Army enlisted and he then presented my Father's flag to my mother. It was a sureal and beautiful tribute and a tearful moment. It was also our dream to see Mom finally join Dad again and that day was both joyous and difficult. My Brother-in-Law was laid to rest near my parents. Not by our planning but by the Grace of God! My Wife and I help lay wreaths during Christmas season and place flags to prepare for Memorial Day. I Ride my Harley in the Annual Memorial Day event with Hundreds of Veterans and Citizen Patriots. This is a Beautiful and well maintained memorial which is a wonderful place for families to visit a pay their respects to their loved ones. The drive up can be narrow at times and some people will come flying down the mountain. Once you get up the mountain, there are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view. The parking can be limited during the peak visiting times so make sure to plan accordingly with plenty of time in case that is an issue. If you are visiting Phoenix, you must stop here!!

Located in South Mountain Park, Dobbins offers picturesque views of Phoenix and surrounding areas. There are two ways to get there: (1) you can take the easy way and take a scenic drive up to a parking lot right next to Dobbins or (2) take Holbert Trail to Dobbins which will be about an hour an a half hike. Naturally, I took the more difficult route and was rewarded for my efforts with all that Dobbins has to offer. You'll see people sitting on the various benches and ledges to enjoy the views. You'll see people snapping pics. And you'll even see vendors in the parking lot selling Native American art and jewelry, drinks, and snacks. While I wasn't there during sunset, I hear it's a spectacular place to come at that time.
