Super cute ice cream shop ! The place is cosy, modern and full of charm. They have different and original flavours such as strawberry-rosmarin, salty caramel or coconut-strawberry. If you have allergies, it is really easy to understand how the ice creams are made of, thanks to a colours system. They also create vegan ice-creams ! You can either eat inside or take-away. read more

Like its St. Georg outlet cousin, Luicella's deserves the long line-ups on warm days - simply for the quality of their great ice cream. And given the location, you might even find more days without those long line-ups. This is a smaller place with a smaller assortment, and it's lacking the cute seating spaces. But they stock all their favorites, they will also give you an additional flavor to try out, and the taste is simply awesome. read more

A long line in front of this place hinted that the reviews were legit. Each scoop was 1.40 EUR, a bit more expensive than usual, but you get a taster of another flavour for free, on top. Onto the ice cream itself: one taste of it and we were hooked: the coconut sorbet is quite simply the best coconut ice cream we've ever tasted. It kind of reminded us of Booja-Booja's Coconut Hullabaloo, until now our favourite - only that Luicella's was ten times better. Pistachio was also very good. Highly recommended! read more

History

Established in 2013.

Luicella's - Die Idee Wir glauben, jede gute Geschichte beginnt mit einer Liebesgeschichte. So war das auch mit Luicella's. Ganz am Anfang war die Liebe zum Eis. Dazu kam ein Auslandssemester in Italien, viel Eiscreme in Kalifornien, Eiskurse an der berühmten Gelato University in Bologna und schließlich der Entschluss: Wir machen unser eigenes Eis! Wir, die Gründer Einer unserer Eltern meinte zu unserer Idee: "Naja, ihr seid ja noch jung! Also ich hätt den Drive gar nicht mehr!" Wir wollen mal testen, wie es ist, Träume zu verwirklichen. Deshalb haben wir "nicht können" in "können" eingetauscht und Träume in Pläne. "Wir" sind Markus Deibler, Schwimmer und Olympiateilnehmer und Luisa Mentele, italienisch sprechende Eisliebhaberin und Eisproduzentin. Und hinter uns stehen schon jetzt ganz viele liebe Leute, ohne die wir den Drive auch nicht hätten. Denen werden wir bald an anderer Stelle danken.

Meet the Business Owner: Markus D.

Nach dem Abitur 2009 kam Markus Deibler aus dem Schwabenländle nach Hamburg, da er dort bessere Trainingsbedingungen für seine Leidenschaft, das Schwimmen, vorfinden konnte. Mit seinen heute 23 Jahren hat er schon zwei Mal an Olympischen Spielen teilgenommen, kam dort bis ins Finale. 2010 wurde er mehrfacher Kurzbahneuropameister und Vizeweltmeister. 2012 gründete er seine eigene GmbH, welche Ohrentropfen für Schwimmer vertreibt und eine Plattform für Studenten betreibt. 2013 gründete er zusammen mit Luisa Mentele die Luicella's Premium Ice Cream GmbH. Im April `13 eröffnete die erste kleine 2go-Eisdiele auf St. Pauli in Hamburg und wurde schnell zum Erfolg.

Not the best ice cream in the world, but its good UPDATE Schmidt eis is only recommendable if you are there for ice cream. their coffee and cakes are not that good. i got a coffee which was COLD, and too milky... their coffee cake doesn't taste like coffee... it was edible, but i couldn't recognize any taste in it... I'll probably stick to ice cream whenever i am there, but on that day although my friends had a cone it was too cold for me to even look at the ice cream sortiment
