Wow! I must say I'm astonished at all the negative-to-ho-hum reviews on this shopping center. I don't know; is it maybe an innate cultural abhorrence of shopping centers in general?
Sure, the clientele isn't always the creme de la creme. The bar looks kind of seedy from the outside (no idea from the inside). And yes, what I hate most of all, they do play really loud music often!
But they have some great stores as well. There's the Schokotek, where you can find all kinds of colorful candy which pleases children and makes dentists rich. The variety there is wonderful and the service is very open and friendly.
There's the nice little Okiru Sushi Bar in the Mausi Markt Passage, just before the elevators. I wouldn't make a special trip to go here, but it is just delightful when I've accomplished a bunch of errands and can treat myself to lunch here before running to the next appointment. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is reliably polite.
Finally, there's an Aida in the Gürtel Brücke passage. Having cake and coffee right above the Gürtel is a unique experience!
All this plus the usual array of stores you need to meet your needs all near each other under one roof with free parking (for an hour or two, check ahead as it changes) underneath. It's the busy person's dream!
Yes, when I have time there are plenty of classier places I'll go shopping. But sometimes you just have to get a lot of jobs done at once and maybe reward yourself with sushi afterwards. For that, Herr Lugner's City fits the bill.
