Combination hot food

It's Chinese New Year. I always buy this kind of snack during this holiday. Most of the snacks was hard and funky. Anyway, it's like an almond powder. When I opened this box and taste one, it doesn't taste normal. Taste toxic! There's even a warning outside the box saying cancerous. Hmmm...maybe it's a different company but it's warning to us consumers. I will just dispose it and remember this brand and stay away from it.

Spring rolls

They carry all the essential ingredients to make your favorite Vietnamese dish. Prices are reasonable. However, this review is strictly about the spring rolls (goi cuon). It is the best supermarket spring rolls I have tried. Just the right ratio of veggie, noodles, pork and shrimp. Sauce is deliciously balanced and the peanut butter is not too overwhelming. $8 for 3 rolls may seem expensive but it is worth it. I arrived at 9:25 AM and they only have 7 portions on the counter. They don't appear to restock based on my past visit so come early!

The market will lose a customer who is me, sorry to say, I take pictures to do reviews, and if a random employee came and asked me to stop taking pictures even though I already told him why I was doing it, it's lame. No signs saying I can't take pictures here, it's a public space duh. But I still managed to snap enough pictures, I used to come here when I dated my ex in Mira Mesa, yes one of those Vietnamese super market if you're not closed to Vien Dong or Thuan Phat, they might have more items in stock, even some new items that I don't see every day at other markets, they even have a hot food togo area, and now Pho Lucky, but I will not come again because of 2 things, that employee in the seafood section, and secondly the cashier who asked me to pay extra for bags because EBT didn't cover it which to me is total BS, I went to plenty markets to know they are covered the plastic bags. So Lucky Market, buh bye, not so lucky anymore

Bahn Banh Mi(bread)

It was solid, the bread had a good crunch and the filling tasted fresh. Overall a good Bahn mi.

It's adequate. Nothing more, nothing less. The Hot Food Express Deli is a fast casual cafeteria-style spot inside the Lucky Seafood Vietnamese grocery store. They serve up mostly traditional Vietnamese dishes that are surprisingly hard to find anywhere else in the nearby area (too much pho, too little variety). I got a two-entrée plate for $10: Fried rice, thit kho, and char siu. Decently large portions, high-fat, high-flavor pork. Their food isn't winning them a James Beard award any time soon but it gets the job done well enough. Likely won't find many deals as good as this and it's enough food to last the day. I'm sure it's a small, family-owned establishment so please consider paying in cash to help them avoid high processing fees. I'll be back to try their other menu items

There is no reason say I can't return the box of apple.

Do they sell lychee flavored soda?

No. But I bet you can find it at the store next door.

I still remember when I first moved here to San Diego 13 years ago; I didn't know anybody and was very homesick, so my ex-husband brought me here. It was very funny because I was too shy to say hi to anyone, so he took the courage to say hello to a group of girls who he overheard talking in my dialect and introduced me to them, and that's how I started meeting new friends. That being said, this is the right place to go whether you're feeling homesick or missing food delicacies back home. This is my favorite Filipino supermarket; they also have a branch in National City. The wet market is the best since I love fish, they always have different varieties of fresh and frozen fish daily. There's no pungent smell and it's always clean, it's big factor why I love coming here. You pick your own fish, put it in a bag, head to the weighing section, and they clean and cut it for you after weighing. They could also fry it for you for an extra cost, which is very inexpensive and convenient. It's one of my favorite services that they provide because it saves me a lot of time frying it myself at home and getting oil everywhere. However, coming here is always challenging. I always tell my son we're just going to come in and out, but we never leave the store with only few items, always a full cart. There's a lot of good stuff everywhere, next thing you know your cart was over $200-$300! Next to the supermarket, there is Chowking, Red Ribbon, Atlas Shippers Box, LBC, and many other shops that carry everything you need.

I am sharing this for awareness. Seafood City Mira Mesa has generally provided good products, but…read morethere seems to be an issue. I purchased Hawaiian bread last night, and although the expiration date was not past, it was full of mold when my husband opened it this morning. I am unsure if this is due to improper storage or a lack of attention to expiration dates. I feel disappointed because it results in wasted money. This also made me concerned about what other items might be past their expiration dates. I will share the image in the picture. You can see the handwritten expiration date. It should be one more week, but it is covered in mold.

I love going to supermarkets and especially ones that I am not familiar with and like to explore and discover new things to try. This market is fairly small and it had basically two aisles but its filled from floor to ceiling with Russian and Eastern European goods. The front deli case has all the smoked fish you want and also plenty of different kinds of sausages too. And since its the holidays, there are also plenty of fun chocolates and gift items! I chose to buy some rusk bread crisps (salmon and cheese flavored) and Russian style egg salad. Both were good! I didnt know what to expect with Russian style egg salad as it has cheese and fresh garlic in it, so I was a little worried if I didnt like it, but good thing is that I definitely liked it and can definitely pair them with some Carr crackers as a snack! Almost everyone in here was speaking Russian and I definitely felt like a weirdo in there but everyone was nice to me and welcoming. My only gripe is that the rusk crisp was labeled as $1.99 and I was charged $2.50. Id come back here again and try other things too next time.
