(And I've gone to dentists in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and all over the Bay Area.) The staff at lucky dental are great: they always have bilingual staff on hand, and they're always very helpful and patient. The dentists I've worked with here are always professional and on time: whichever procedure I needed to get done, I've never had problems with the service or the after-care. My dentist always walks me through what needs to be done in detail, and follow up with me after to see how I'm feeling. Procedures I've gotten done here include: fillings, cleanings, braces, and Invisalign after. Dr Lucy and James are both great. Highly recommend them if you're looking for a new dentist! DO NOT waste your time with this unethical dental office. They have charged fraudulent claims to our (crappy) insurance. Two dates of service for June 2020, total charge $3,300 and now $1,170 is my responsibility (to procedures that were never done). Apparently someone in their staff has instructed clients to lie to their insurance, if they are ever questioned if a procedure was done, "say yes". Why? Because according to the dental practice they'll do the procedure at a later time anyway. Completely ridiculous. The BBB will definitely be getting my complaint. read more

Dr. Tang and team are outstanding! I have been to her office a few times, including cavities filling and regular teeth cleaning. I have to say that I could not have been more impressed with the speed, professionalism, courtesy and expertise I was treated with. Dr. Tang was very patient explaining me about every step of the procedure, telling me what instrument she was going to use, what it did, and how it would feel. She answered all of my questions and really took time and care with my teeth, she made what should have been a frightening, painful experience a genuinely pleasant one. In addition, her office is always kept immaculate and in good order, which welcomes you with extra comfort. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well as all of the hygienists that have cleaned my teeth in the past. Came in to get my teeth cleaned... was helped right away and placed into a room got my Xrays done and during that process at least 10 people must have came in and out to help out - total teamwork!- after taking 8-10 injections to my gums *tears* - 45 min later my teeth were deep cleaned and I was out the door. Anesthesia lasted about 2 hours to wear off. Very Nice people and very gentle... I will be back in 2 weeks to get one of my wisdom tooth pulled!. woohoo!. DO NOT GO HERE! It's a total scam! They have these coupons on some magazines and it says $20 for cleaning, Xray and consultation if you're a first time patient. My dad and I went here on Friday, we only wanted to get our teeth cleaned. I went in and they took Xrays, then the dentist came in and checked my teeth, he said I had one cavity. OK. Then he asked me about my lip piercing and how long I've had it and told me to take it off. I thought it was on his way but he meant take it off definitely. He didn't ask, he TOLD ME to take it off. Are you fucking kidding me? Can you clean my god damn teeth already? I also have this thing where I can't stop biting the insides of my cheeks and bottom lip. It's like biting your nails (which I also do) and he told me what I've heard a million times before; "if you don't stop this you might get cancer". OK. Clean my teeth now? Then he went on saying how I need a DEEP cleaning, so I said "how much will that cost?" and he said "well you brought the coupon so, 200 dollars" TWO HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS?! Yeah dude I just came here for a regular cleaning so get to it. Then he said "today we won't do the polish because you need a deep cleaning first. So get a deep cleaning and then we do the polish OK?" NOT OK. Then he sent me out to the front desk. The lady said "OK that will be 20 dollars". If it wasn't because the lady was super sweet, I would have flipped out on her, I did say "I don't understand why I have to pay 20 dollars if I didn't get my teeth cleaned, which is why I came here for in the first place" and she told me the same thing the dentist did. I pretty much woke up early (which I hate to do) and paid 20 dollars for some short Asian bastard to DEMAND I take off my piercing and tell me what I've heard before. And my dad? My 10-years' experience with Dr. Xu and Dr. Tang has been the best dentist experience overall so far. I felt comfortable and in good hands. Every time of my visit to their office, I always received personal attention and customized care. Both Dr. Xu and Dr. Tang take sufficient time with me discuss my oral health problems, cosmetic concerns, treatment options, and alternatives. I was never being pressured or misled in their office. Instead, I am always informed, and doctors walk me through each of the options with professional analysis of the pros and coms of each treatment method, and let ME make the final decision --- unlike other few dentists I had experienced with before Dr. Xu and Dr. Tang. As for the chair-side manner, both Dr. Xu and Dr. Tang are gentle, soft-touching, calming, yet, get the job done perfectly (I had a dentist, she was really soft-touching while conducting a teeth cleaning, but the teeth were not cleaned thoroughly which should be the main goal of my appointment). Did you know if you go slowly, Novocain doesn't have to hurt going in? :-) The office is always clean and modem. DAs at the office are very helpful and professional. Every staff is comfortable, cozy, and very friendly as well as professionally. You'll find yourself in a true hand-held customer environment... Dental office visiting is, by no means, a joyful experience, however, it definitely can be a smooth and less anxiety-filled one under Dr. Xu's and Dr. Tang's care. Since then I have been going to them whenever a dental service is needed. For so many years Dr. Tang and her well-trained team are like friends to me. I see the old faces whenever I visit them and all of them recognize me. This makes me feel very comfortable. I get routine cleaning dental reminder through phone call which I appreciate it very much. For any appointments that are set up, I receive phone call to remind me the day and the time. As I aged, I appreciate reminders a lot more than before.
