The thing is.... food? Amazing. The fish tacos are my go to and the pork is great!!! The service? AWFUL. If you wanna watch your waitress sit and yap behind the bar with all the other girls who work there then this is the place for you lol. No napkins, no silverware, no drink refill, etc. It's unfortunate cause the place is cute and has nice outdoor seating. Hopefully y'all have a different experience.

Prickly pear margarita at happy hour prices, yes please!!!

First time at chador and some things were great, others just meh. The service was awesome. The hostess was kind and for us seated right away even though it was crowded. Our server was also attentive but not hovering which was really great. It was happy hour and I LOVE that they have specials for both food and drinks. I had a prickly pear margarita that was great. I also got a chicken tikka masala taco, a grilled shrimp taco and a General Tso's chicken taco and they were just alright. I like the idea of experimental confusion tacos but the chicken was not hot and the flavors were not strong enough. The general vibe of the restaurant was cool. It was super crowded but there was decent music playing on the speakers and funky art on the walls. Overall I'd still recommend. But the tacos could use some work. Oh, the queso and tortilla chips were excellent though. I never get queso because it's not my fave but I demolished this one. Definitely get it. That will bump my review up from 3 to 4 stars.

Cool atmosphere, pretty average tacos and bortitos, solid margs! Staff was super courteous. I got the chorizo burritos. It was pretty solid, nothing crazy special. The chorizo was yummy, but everything was pretty average The tacos my friend got had this great yummy orange sauce on top. Pretty reminiscent of that stuff they put in the quesadillas at Taco Bell. We got house margs and ya really can't go wrong with a marg! TLDR: not the bestest, but it's a solid place for a taco and a drink

I have been here twice now for lunch and loved it both times!! Love the cool vibe and decor of this place. Great for groups. Nice selections on the menu and the food arrives quickly. Staff is courteous and is able to easily split checks. The red and green salsa is delicious and they keep the chips coming. I love their chicken bowl, it is so tasty and fresh. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite or for a fun night on State St.

Oh. My. Goodness. I was not expecting the food to surprise and delight me as much as it did. I got a Gyro Taco (my personal favorite), a Buffalo Chicken Taco, and a Crispy Fish Taco (second place). Our waiter was great. The place is decorated in a very bright, lively way. We came after the football game and the energy in there was perfect. It was extremely busy though, so be prepared if you go on a weekend evening.

My friend loves tacos and I love tequila & beer. This place has all our favorite elements. As soon as we walked in we were greeted, the staff seemed nice. We sat at a table across from the bar and perused the menu. The place had a cool vibe with fun eclectic paintings and club music in the background. I liked that back wall of the bar as it had a nice selection of tequilas to choose from. I actually couldn't read the tequila menu as it was all in tiny print, so looking at the backwall was easier. I was recommended by the bartender to try a reposado tequila from a brand named, "Siempre" - I sampled it and it was good. My friend ordered her tacos and said they were good. There were 3 different tacos and one tasted better than the others so she ordered another one but it didn't look like the before. She asked the waitress to take it back and have it remade. It still didn't like the original but she ate it anyways. We discovered there were some gambling games the like the Milk tabs (we win $10), a video poker game, and a slot machine. Being from Las Vegas, my friend had a bit of fun trying the games out. Overall, the place is nice, the staff was friendly, it seems the food is pretty good too. Maybe you'll find yourself here, I hope you have a great experience! Njoy!

Luchador is a Mexican taqueria located on state st. They offer a bar as well as table service. It's is a little bit modern with a younger crowd primarily made of college students. While I didn't try their food, they had amazing frozen margaritas. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality frozen margarita.

I absolutely love this place! Their chips and red salsa are some of the best. I also love their carnitas burrito smothered in queso. The meat is tender and the burrito itself has a ton of flavor. The bartender there is the best! He gives great service and always remembers my wife and I when we go in. The location is great! They offer indoor and outdoor seating right on State Street. We love sitting outside or right at the bar. The decor inside is super trendy but also funny. They have luchador photos of Bucky badger and Nacho Libre. It's hilarious and really adds to the theme. For all you Wisconsin people, they even have pull tabs! I'd definitely recommend Luchador the next time you're craving Mexican food!

Taco and margarita heaven!! Luchador has a unique and extensive list of margaritas. Some of the margaritas they offer are rainbow, spicy, coconut, elderflower, and more! They also have several flavors they can add to house margaritas. The flavors include strawberry, prickly pear, huckleberry, raspberry, and watermelon. You can get your margaritas frozen or on the rocks. You can choose salt, sugar, or tajin for your rim. There is an entire wall filled with tons of different tequilas at the bar. They offer Don Julio, Teremana, Patron, and many more! I ordered the chicken burrito smothered in queso for dinner and it was FANTASTIC!! So flavorful and delicious! I would absolutely order it again. The other food looked delicious as well. Luchador has a really cool, modern atmosphere. There are neon signs, cool pictures, and a colorful bar. The bar has pull tabs and a few other games to play. They also have a patio for outdoor dining right on State Street. I am so thrilled this taco bar opened in Madison. It's so fun, trendy, and delicious! Not to mention a great location with fantastic service. It's a great addition to State Street and to Madison in general. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants on Madison!

I'm came for a weekend trip to Madison and was trying to find somewhere to watch the Chargers game and get a good michelada. Most bars in the area were closed until later in the day and the ones that were open couldn't make micheladas. I was surprised at how empty it was. But the drinks are great. The michelada had a good spice to it. The Paloma was alright but the tequila they used made up for it. It's very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are extremely well kept compared to other bar bathrooms on State Street. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good tequila selection.

Frozen Margarita (lime, strawberry, & huckleberry) with Tajin rim
    Fawn J.

Luchador Madison is a great place to go if you are a huge tequila lover & taco fan like myself!!! :) When my husband & I walked into Luchador which is located downtown Madison, WI right on State Street, I was instantly in tequila heaven as the bar has a huge selection of different types of tequila including Patron, Casimigos, & Clase Azule tequila which are some of my favorite tequilas! The atmosphere is very festive with fun neon signs, large tequila themed bar area, dining area with booths, & an outdoor seating patio option. They have a great cocktail menu with all types of different flavors of margaritas including large sharable margarita pitchers to share with friends & family! I got the rainbow frozen margarita (lime, strawberry, & huckleberry) with a Tajin rim which is all 3 flavors. You get a choice of of a traditional salt, sugar, or Tajin rim with your margaritas with Tajin being a chili lime seasoning. The margarita was absolutely delicious!!!! My husband & I ordered the fried chorizo tacos for an appetizer. My husband scarfed the tacos down quickly as they were delicious packed with seasoned chorizo & deep fried corn tortillas!!! Next, we ordered the the chorizo & garlic shrimp burritos with the option of being drenched in queso cheese for a couple dollars extra! Our burritos were good but we both noticed that our burritos were mostly stuffed with rice and beans and very little meat inside so that's mainly why I am giving 3 stars. If there was more actual meat in the burritos, the burritos would have been so much better! To us, the burritos were not worth the price point about $8-12 when it was mostly rice. Getting the option of having our burritos drenched in queso cheese made them taste alot better but be prepared to need lots of napkins! I would like to come back and see if there are some better menu options. We weren't super impressed with the burritos but we received excellent service from a really sweet attentive waitress! Overall, Luchador is a super fun place to go with all the different choices of tequila but the food itself could have been a-lot better! The drinks, the large tequila bar, & great happy hour specials were excellent and I would definitely come back because I am a huge tequila fan! Since Luchador is located very close to University of Wisconsin it seemed to be more of the college student crowd but really it is super fun for anyone who enjoys tequila!!!

    rainbow frozen margarita
    Morgan F.

I came here with some friends for the super bowl and I had a great experience. I'd been here once before awhile back and it was great then too. The food is delicious and they frequently run specials that make it even more worthwhile. For the super bowl they had $5 snorkels, $3 traditional tacos, $5 nachos, and 50% off all drinks. The nachos were really fresh and vibrant and I tried a chicken taco which was also tasty. I shared a couple pitchers of frozen margaritas with my friends and they were delicious, especially the rainbow margarita. Above all that though, the atmosphere at Luchador is what really makes it special. The staff are friendly, the lighting is fun, the decor is colorful, and overall it just has a really welcoming and positive vibe. I would highly recommend stopping here the next time you're on State Street!

We had some old fashioneds before ordering food, and I thought they were good. Service was super attentive, especially as we delayed ordering to enjoy drinks and an appetizer for a bit. I ordered the beer battered cod fish fry (my staple), and overall it was yummy to eat. The two pieces that came out were enormous and a bit wonky shaped... made me wonder what on earth this fish looked like in its swimming days. The batter was quite tasty, crunchy but not too crunchy/hard, but it was so incredibly think I'm not sure I got fish in every bite. I took one piece home and give the fish part to my pup as a meal topper, and the ratio of breading I had to pull off compared to fish was a bit (quite a bit) much. Still, everything I ate was tasty. I got the salad with my dinner, and was so happy that it came out with quality greens instead of a chunk of iceberg type lettuce. Overall, I'd come back again if others wanted, but wasn't wild about the batter to fish ratio.

I'm glad I came in when I did, because a mob of people came as soon as I placed my to go order. The hostess that took our order was super friendly and even recommended a few sauces to try with the cheese curds (paprika and ranch). We placed our order, and within 10 minutes, we had our cheese curds. Walked across the street to the Capitol and sat at one of the benches, prepared to try the cheese curds. The cheese curds were......ok. I have not had a ton of cheese curds, but from what I was told to expect, they should be crisp on the outside and nice and cheesy on the inside. These cheese curds were cheesy no doubt, but were not crisp at all. It's as though they had been sitting out for a while (maybe that's why we got our order so quickly?). The sauces were good, but did not elevate the cheese curds to the level of "must try." We went on a Saturday night. The crowd was mostly young college students from the nearby university but it is for all ages before 8pm. The atmosphere was a very fun, high energy vibe, with music in the background but still laid back because it is a small arcade bar. I loved the arcade/gaming themed bar and food menu that goes perfectly with the whole atmosphere! They have cheap fun cocktails that come in cute cups like Pac-Man(sweet Sex on the Beach cocktail) and fruity shots like the Fiery Mario and Kitby's Dream Potion. There was a decent selection of tap beers and even mocktails! They have a small menu of bar food like the Donkey King Chicken Strips, Street Fighter Nachos, and a selection of Lorenzo's Pizza. Make sure to check out their website because different days they have different deal specials throughput the week. To play the arcade games you need to purchase a loadable Tap and Play card with denominations of $20, $30, $40, $50, $75 and $100 but beware of the $2 new card fee. To play the games, you tap the machine with your card. It's 35 - 95 taps per play depending on what game you want to play. I thought the pricing was high compared to some of the other nearby arcades since its also a small selection of games. Some of the games you can earn points or rewards called CAPS where more tap points are added on your card to play more games or even claim for food/drinks off the CAPS menu. Double Tap Beercade didn't have a big selection of classic games but they had my favorite game "Street Fighter". They have games a small mix of carnival, pinball, and arcade games such as skee ball, Mario Kart, Pac-Man, and Sink It. I noticed a-lot of dirty food plates, empty drinks not cleaned up from the tables left on tables when people were clearly done. I hope they make an effort to be better about staying on top off of picking up dirty plates, clearing, and cleaning tables as people are done so guests can enjoy available clean tables because it wasn't super busy and there was more than one staff. The Double Tap Beercade has room for improvements but it is definitely a great, small, laid back, fun arcade bar that is fun place to meet up with family, friends, or a date night! The bartenders provided attentive, friendly service! I definitely plan on going back again because it was such a fun atmosphere!

They could've gave us a heads up as the lunch menu had more items and more of what we really wanted so that we were a bit frustrated with the staff because of that. Place was cool as it was game day for foot ball so it had people in there cheering and giving the place to life.
