I was treated by Dr. Tenney in 2006 for a hammertoe on my right foot after a friend recommended…read morehim. I did not research him beforehand, which I now regret. The procedure he performed was a capsulotomy at the MPJ and IPJ. While it did correct the hammertoe, the surgery left my second and third toes lying flat without function. Because I have flat feet, this caused new problems--my fourth and fifth toes curled under to help support me, and over time it affected my knee and hip. I was also unable to return to wearing my normal shoes and had to purchase an orthopedic shoe. This has had lasting consequences on my mobility and quality of life. While others may have different experiences, I personally would not recommend surgery with Dr. Tenney based on my outcome. If you are considering treatment, I strongly encourage you to do thorough research and seek multiple opinions before proceeding.
