Recently, I needed to go to Arlington often for the wake of a deceased loved one. The easiest way for me would be taking the Katipunan station of the LRT 2 to V. Mapa.
PROS: The LRT 2 is one of my professor's favorite examples when discussing universal design in architecture (as the jump point of learning in a universally designed pedagogy). When we say universal design, it means it can cater to any kind of person no matter his or her abilities. Their trains and stations provide ramps and specially-textured tiles makes it more people-with-disability-friendly; It's not crowded and lines are efficiently handled. You even have an optin of getting your tickets from vending machines; Trains are on time. The carriages are well-maintained as well - clean with functioning air-conditioning; The staff are nice and the security people really help.
CONS: I rarely ride it because I don't really frequent the places on its route. But I enjoy my rides to LRT 2 nonetheless.
TL;DR: Out of the three metro manila railway systems, LRT 2 is my favorite. It's fast, convenient, comfortable, and secure. read more
