#4 Drew's Customer Service Experience at Lowe's Waxhaw (continued) So, I called customer service. Actually, I called customer service three times. When I dialed the first time, I had gotten the number off of Google for the Lowe's in Waxhaw, NC. I thought I had called the store when they answered. But I was wrong, it was Lowe's corporate customer service. The first woman was very nice. I explained at great length my issue with the communication of the delivery process through FedEx, and the fact that it had been dropped at my door, and then lastly the results or lack thereof any communication after my call on Sunday providing me NO answers of how the stove that was to be brought inside my house (Remember Lisa was the store manager was the one driving for a solution out of the Waxhaw, NC location where I bought the Appliances). She wanted to look up and see if there were any notes regarding the stove in the system. The nice woman from Customer Service said that there weren't any general notes. She asked if she could put me on hold while she researched a little deeper. When she returned, she said there was nothing anywhere to support my concerns. This information instantaneously made my anxiety go through the roof. Trying to salvage or get something out of this effort on my part led me to ask to be connected to the Waxhaw appliance team. I was confident that after I spoke with a manager or staff member at the Waxhaw location, my troubles would be calmed. The woman on the line said yes, she would transfer me. Following that answer from the customer service agent, I was transferred. I was clearly on hold by recognizing the marketing loop of information about Lowe's offerings. Next, I spent the next 40 minutes on hold. Frustrated and time running out before the next delivery of appliances was to arrive, I gave up and hung up. I attempted again to pull the direct store number from Google to avoid corporate and to call directly to the Waxhaw, NC store. But as I found out, the number I got from the Google page was again giving me corporate, and there seems to be no direct numbers. The second woman was very nice. Again, I shared my journey that led to this call. I tried to save her time and told her she would find anything in the general notes or in any deep dive. That said, she communicated that she was going to follow standard practice on these types of calls. She did the same routine. When she finally came back on the call, she explained that her deep dive didn't provide any information either. She did say she was going to give me the direct number for the store in Waxhaw, NC. She did give me a direct number to call. Well, not surprisingly so, that number didn't belong to Lowe's Waxhaw, NC. Here I was again, provided misinformation on something as simple as a phone number and a phone transfer. This goes beyond being about just me. This is about a system that is failing the customer. Leaving customers like us with guilt after being gaslighted over and over again. This wasn't a one-and-done situation. This all took place over 11 days, not just one member, but more like 10 or 11 team members from management, appliances, and customer service. So I called customer service the third time. During this time, the drivers had arrived. So one hour wasted on the phone, and now the biggest headache hit. The customer service woman was again very nice. I asked her not to research any history but to put me through to the Waxhaw appliance department right away. While we were debating whether there were any notes, I learned from the drivers that they were not going to bring in the stove that was delivered on Sunday. Even more alarming and so disappointing was when they informed me that they were going to leave everything they were delivering on the pallets. Meaning nothing would be put together, and no appliance would be brought in directly to the kitchen. I did giggle to myself for a brief second. I was recalling part of my conversation with Doug regarding delivery. I asked Doug about my existing Refridgerator and dishwasher, and about putting them in the garage for storage. I stated I wanted to keep them both. But I knew, as I shared with Doug, that I was not going to be able to move them myself or with the help of my wife. read more

Let me start off by saying that I'll always prefer Lowe's to their competitors just on general principle. With that being said, I completely understand all the bad reviews that are left for this location because I do see the apathy from employees towards their job and the customers. I've been frequenting this Lowe's for many years and I've experienced the lack of training, understanding of products, products being consistently out of stock. Another major issue this store has is that it doesn't stock all the same products you'd find at other Lowe's stores. Since this Lowe's is close to my house, I go here first but then 30% of the time I have to leave and go to another store that has the product in stock. The management of this store is inconsistent and doesn't always apply corporate policy equally to the customers. Management I believe is another reason that employees have apathy towards everything here. They probably are burnt out and not getting the proper training or guidance they need. I only recommend this Lowe's if you know exactly what you need and if you don't have questions about how to do a specific project. Otherwise, it's best to go to other locations like Indian Land or Providence Rd. read more

Came here to reload on cedar mulch n got a cart of misc things n brought it to the cashier to also pay for 10 bags of cedar but the cashier told me I had to go all the way back n get the item nbr! Can't believe Lowe's cashier doesn't hv a pricing folder with item nbrs??? It's also spring n the garden center's management should hv realized here we hv a temperamental spring. I can't believe how many plants are already marked down due to freeze damage. Spray water cleaning of the floor debris should hv bn done early morning instead of when customers are shopping after work‍. My shoes are all wet. 07/22/18 Omgoodness! Bought something super heavy in a big box, waited for help n no one came for the longest time so another customer who was probably in his 70's helped me together put it into the SUV. It started to rain n the box isn't taped up well on the bottom. He was even nice enough to take the flat cart away. Then, the Lowe's helper came and he was as old as the customer who helped me! This Lowes is terrible. I tried to exchange a broken mushroom solar light. EXCHANGE and because I didn't have my receipt they thought I was "scamming" them. I bought 2 sets last year and a third to complete our garden. The two women at the customer service desk started trash talking me when I walked away not realizing the next customer in line was my HUSBAND. I have said it before and I will say it again now. I enjoy shopping at Lowe's. Not only do they have what I need (even when I don't know exactly what I need), they have knowledgeable and helpful staff members. It doesn't matter who I ask, they will tell me exactly where to find what I am looking for, or take me there. As I don't often know where to find items, it is always great to have a helpful human direct me. I have not received such great service at any other home improvement store. New low set for absolute DGAF about customers. Four employees standing around acting like we were interrupting their break asking about a product that the website said they had in stock but wasn't on the shelf. Literally just stared at us and then finally said another employee would meet us in the gardening section to help. Waited around for another few minutes before asking the woman at the register where the employee was before she told us he was on lunch. One guy did actually try to help us but didn't seem to know how the store was organized. Moral of the story: order online or plan to figure it out on your own once you're there. Wanted to buy paint and have a can on Behr (home depot product) shaken. They would not shake/mix a competitor's paint. Went down the street and bought at Sherman Williams, they had no qualms. Overall, pricier are higher than home depot. Unable to cut large sheets of wood for weeks due to broken saw. Returns are much more difficult than home depot. read more

The worst customer service I've ever received in my life. Every single time I enter this store I'm matched with people who seemed overwhelmed and don't know how to perform their job. It's not just once or twice. I rather travel a bit further and go to Home Depot where people smile and say hello. So you drive down 16 to go to this lowes, big old lowes sign at the stop light, making one think that you can access the actual store. Nope pull in go all the way down the road and see a blocked entrance, you then have to go back out to the light, turn left, go back up hwy 16 to turn into the guess this the walmart entrance. The people in the store lack professionalism dont care. Literally went in one evening, get to the register, not a one open but self checkout. Actual employee or what I think may have been an employee stands there watching me check out my own things. These people would rather stand in the corner and do nothing while watching you check yourself out. Dont even get me started about the inventory online showing you where it is in the store, never right, never there. Employes's will tell you well we are a smaller location. What the hell does that have to do with anything. My pregnant daughter went in one day needed to get a pc of lumber assuming she would get help. 5/11/23: Customer Service VERY POOR!!! I am extremely disappointed to have purchased a brand new Samsung Dryer from salesman at the store, which Lowe's installed and delivered last Tuesday 5/2, only to try to start it a few days later and have it make a horrible metal screeching sound! I called the salesman, and he said since it was more than 48 HOURS from the sale, I would have to call Samsung because the store was not responsible!!!!!!! This is ridiculous since they installed, and obviously did not test, the dryer. It has never been used and still has the tape on it from delivery !!!!!!!!!!. After receiving no satisfaction from the salesman, I next spoke to customer service and they said they would have helped for 30 days if it would have been purchased with a Lowes credit card, but since it was all paid for up front, I only had the first 48 hours (which I was not told about up front) !!!! Friendly service but stocking is slow. I came here for a pair of wall lights. The lighting dept person is making me go to Ballantyne rather than order just one more for a pair. Not only this dept but other depts are lacking in restocking. Management needs to wake up. 6/11/16 Electrical aisle 10 is badly in need of WHITE single pole $1.98 decor switches. I keep coming here for them but NOOOO. U can buy them in 10-packs or u can buy 4-way but NO WHITE 1-POLE DECOR SWITCHES. Here I come Home Depot! 7/21/16 OMG I had to walk around the parking lot to find a long blue cart to buy concrete blocks in this heat n humidity. We have been waiting for a Bosch dishwasher to be in stock for about two months. I walked into Lowes every weekend. Different reps attended to me very nicely. I always missed the deliveries of them by a day or 2. One particular employee named Fred told me that he could save my info and let me know as soon as they received the dishwashers in stock. I thought in my mind, there's no way they will call... But to my surprise he did! He saved my information in his notes on his personal phone and called me as soon as they received a delivery of the dishwasher. Love there are employees who actually go an extra mile to make customers happy. read more

UPDATE 5/4/2023: I wanted to share an update, for other local Waxhaw area residents, so that you all understand the type of store and department management that you will likely encounter if you buy appliances from Lowe's in Waxhaw. The details of the issues are provided below. I won't repeat all of it, other than to tell you that the Lowe's delivery team damaged my kitchen floor when they delivered my new refrigerator. They also installed the ice line incorrectly, and caused a leak. Anyway, I asked for reasonable compensation for the damage that Lowe's caused to my floor, and I was given a complete run-around. Zero ownership or accountability from the local Waxhaw Lowe's appliance department management team, zero interest from the store manager in Waxhaw, and I won't even begin to tell you how poor the response was from Lowe's corporate "customer support" team. I have been a customer of this store since 2009, and I have made countless purchases there. The level of management and customer care has gone down. It's not the store that it once was. That's too bad. I was a great customer, and a great supporter of Lowe's. This experience has completely changed my view of the Waxhaw Lowe's store, and the overall company. In the three times I've been here, this last experience was the worst. The employee that "helped" me couldnt anser the basic questions I had asked and woildntbstay off their phone. She was really unprofessional compared to most workers I'd seen, but she was the only one nearby that didn't seem to be too busy to help. Apparently I was wrong in my thinking. She kept texting and playing with her phone, and I don't think one should be doing that while working. I would understand it if she were just checking the time, but considering she would take her phone out, unlock it (I'm assuming) and giggle to herself and reply right in front of a guest, a paying customer, is insane. I come to this Lowe's out of convience but I guess I'll be going to the Monroe one until this employee is taken care of. I don't normally write reviews - and this isn't on the store itself, but one of their subcontractors. In August 2019 I had my new house recarpeted. Initially it was supposed to be done before our furniture was delivered - the carpet got back ordered. I wasn't told at purchase, or given the option to switch colors or styles. Delivery day comes after furniture was delivered - I told the head installer to be very careful with the walls because I just had the whole house painted professionally ($5,000). He assured me up and down they would be careful. 12 hours of installation (and 6 bees in my house from them leaving the doors open) my walls, doors and millwork are gouged, scratched, dented - and even my ceiling has a good size gouge in it from them removing and relocating bedroom doors. Hundreds of dollars in damage. After I spoke with the area supervisor, anthony digorga, I was told to forward my damage estimate and they would take care of the repairs. That was a month ago and he still has not responded to multiple emails. I'm so extremely disappointed in Lowe's and the quality of "professionals" they hire to complete their work. read more

Terrible. Placed an online order, got an email that it was ready for pickup at the Waxhaw store. Arrived at the store, the customer svc Desk person has no idea and sent me to the garden center. A girl who took out her headphones but wouldn't look me in the eye told me she couldn't help me and sent me back to Cust Svc. A different Customer Svc person told me she has no idea why I got an email bc the store had none of the items I had ordered. They moved the order to the Ballantyne store. The Ballantyne store was incredibly helpful and had everything ready for me. One last item was supposed to go to Waxhaw. Got an email today that it was there. Went to pick it up and same thing - bounced me from Cust Svc to garden center, back to Cust Svc (45 wasted min) and ended up telling me that, AGAIN, no idea why I had gotten the pickup email bc it's "probably still on the truck" and I should come back tmrw. Do not shop at Lowe's of Waxhaw! I was just at the store to purchase a washer, dryer & refrigerator. The sales lady was very rude especially when I asked why the price went up on the refrigerator 400.00. Her response was"Things go up". She said her manager was not available when I asked. I went to purchase a microwave on January 17. I was told it would not be delivered to the store until January 31. YIKES! I wanted it installed. The people who do the installations called me to schedule. I work, so I told them I was home after 5 pm Mon. - Thurs., and after 2 pm on Friday. I was home all day on Saturday. They acted like I had some bizarre schedule. The first company they contacted to install the microwave could not accommodate that schedule, so I was passed along to another company, although I did not find that out until I actually showed up at Lowes to find out what was going on. The saleswoman was very nice and made a phone call to the new installation company and let me talk to the scheduler on the phone. We decided to have the installation done today (Friday) between 2 pm - 4 pm. Perfect. It's 11:45 am and I just got a call from the installer, saying he is running early and will be at my house at 1 pm. I said "Fine, but you will be there alone because I don't get home until 2 pm." What is with these people? They don't seem to understand that people actually have to work to pay for microwaves. It was bad enough I had to wait all this time for the thing to come in. I am in the market for a refrigerator and a dishwasher but I wll not be going through Lowes for them. P.S. Home Depot told me they could have had the same microwave installed three days after I ordered it. read more

The older lady at the register was very nice, she had to be probably because we had to wait 15 minutes for a "manager override" to get our 10% Military discount. The cashier called for a manager 4 times... 15 minutes later a manager strolled over in no rush and entered a code for the cashier. A message to the management... If you're going to honor the military with a 10% discount, don't make them wait 15 minutes for a manager override. I can't even tell you how nice the staff here is. I had an issue with finding a product and once it was found, I wasn't sure if I could use the particular brand (mind you this was a 40 lb bag of something) it was carried over to me and I wasn't made to feel bad about the reconsideration of the product, which is more decent that most customer service today, sadly. After 6 months of trying and several people, this turned into a Federal project - someone had it in their car, someone said that the existing door was rotted (turns out it was perfectly fine) - These people don't know anything about what they sell - right down to the department manager of the doors and window department. Terrible delivery department. I left work 5 hours early for an appliance delivery, it was a 4 hour window. I decided to call, bc it was getting late and all ready into the 3rd hour. First excuse they gave me, was my appliance wasn't in stock. So I questioned him, bc our sales person 5 days ago said it was in stock. Plus, we had an automated phone call the day before and an actual person call around 8pm the night before confirming our delivery. So then he states, the appliance wasn't put on the truck bc it was damaged. So I questioned that, bc it's now 6pm at night and why didn't I receive a phone call in the morning telling me my appliance was damaged. So now he offers me 10 percent off the appliance and now I have to wait 4 more days for it to be delivered bc they are booked. Basically, they "forgot" to put my appliance on the truck for delivery. In the past year, we have purchased 3 major appliances from Lowe's in Waxhaw. This will be our last major appliance purchase with them bc each time, we had an issue. A few months ago, while getting our fridge delivered, the driver attempted to back up our narrow driveway during torrential down pour, ran over a sprinkler head and damaged the lawn. We watched from the window. We watched the passenger get out of the truck, assess the damage. When they both entered our home, they never said anything about it. Would not recommend them for appliances as they do not deal honestly. They offered me $449 for a dryer with free delivery. I asked for a discount in return for paying cash with a total price of $420. They agreed and then after ringing it up, I noticed they added in $59 for delivery. I went through with the purchase but it will be my last at this store. If the sales staff feels they need to use such tactics to increase their ticket, then I wish them well but they won't see anymore of my money. I never write a review but I will give honor where honor is due. Yesterday our mailbox bit the dust; post, box and all. Today I decided to go to the store with my 6 month old son to pick up what we needed to replace the whole thing. I found a mailbox that I knew my husband would like but couldn't find the color we wanted. The employee Alex was extremely helpful. Alex went above and beyond!! He scanned the mailbox showing that they should have 3 in stock. He went to the back of the store to look for it despite another employee telling him it was not back there (which it wasn't). He then got the post I needed off the shelf, brought it to the front to check out, and help me find a shovel that we needed to dig the hole for the post. He then brought everything out to my car and loaded it up for me. Lastly, he returned my cart so that I could just put my son in the car and drive on. He did all of this with a smile on his face. UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I purchased a refrigerator in Lowes on 11/14 and set up delivery for 11/20. I received a phone call the evening of 11/19 saying my refrigerator would be delivered between 10:00 and noon on the 20th. Noon came and went - I was trying to be patient as I figured things happen and they were running a little late. Finally around 1:30 I decided to call Central Dispatch to find out what time I should expect my refrigerator. An employee named Marilyn left me on hold for 23 minutes without so much as a check back to let me know she was still checking - VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. When she did come back to the call, I was informed that my refrigerator would not be delivered - it was not in stock and would not be in stock until 11/29. Are you kidding me? When was someone going to tell me this? So I asked to speak to a supervisor, as Marilyn was totally useless in answering any of my questions. After once again being placed on hold for over 10 minutes my call was answered by a supervisor named Ruby. Once again Ruby knew nothing - and had no answers except for a simple "i apologize" - I told her to cancel my order and called the Manager at Lowes in Waxhaw - totally useless - after explaining it to her, once again I received no explanation - just "I apologize". Seriously? This type of customer service lost Lowes a good customer. I will not take all my business to Home Depot. If the minimum you expect from a store is an acceptable level of customer service DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS LOWES, as you will not receive it here. read more
