My 79 year old mother has purchased and paid for 3 Refrigerators from Rincon Lowes for a cost of approximately $2500.00 total. One of the refrigerators, the most expensive, quit making ice and was also building up ice on the bottom of the freezer, leaking water all over the vinyl flooring in the kitchen that was also purchased from Lowes, so a repair service was called to repair it. The repair service worked on the ice maker and could not repair it. This cost my mother out of her own pocket for nothing, as the ice maker never worked again and today it is still leaking and building up ice and you cannot hardly open the freezer door and then you have to pray that it will close. Two weeks ago. after working all day, I came home and opened the freezer and it would not shut, so I spent two hours defrosting it and getting the sheet of ice built up in the bottom and back, out and got it to close. Two days later, the sheet of ice is back covering the bottom of the freezer. She also purchased a washer and dryer for approximately $1200.00 total. The washer broke down about a year after being purchased and she was told that there was no-one within 100 miles that could repair it, so it is sitting outside in the shed. It looks like brand new except it will not work. She went elsewhere to purchase a washing machine. She has recently purchased and paid for a freezer for approximately $ 1200.00, and we are waiting now to see how long it will last. Last year she purchased a Troybuilt riding lawn mower for approximately $1000.00, which was operated 4 times when it quit working. I went to Lowes to find out what I needed to do and was told at the return desk that if it was purchased on her Lowes credit card and paid for, to get someone to bring it and the Lowes credit card and they would replace it for a new one. Well obviously my 79 year old mother couldn't do this, but her son that lives in Bulloch County was kind enough on his day off to empty his trailer and come to Clyo and load the lawn mower up by himself and take it to Lowes and was told that when he got there, they couldn't exchange it, that their employee had mis-informed me. They could however send the lawn mower to the manufacturer for repair, which will require another of his days off to be spent picking it up. We look very stupid obviously as how do you continue to purchase sorry equipment and appliances after you continue to pay for crap? I guess now we have finally had enough and will never spend another penny at Lowes. Hopefully this will inform others not to waste their hard earned money on anything from Lowes. We will now find another company to purchase our appliances and outdoor equipment as well as the money we were about to spend at Lowes on home remodeling. I had to rate 1 star, obviously I wouldn't rate Lowes any star, but it wouldn't submit without. read more
