I had a great experience in the ER and was tended to by one of the coolest nurses I ever had. Rachel was a fantastic nurse!

I WAS SEXUALLY HARASSED BY ONE OF LOWER BUCK'S NURSES. The amount of medical malpractice I witnessed and personally experienced goes beyond anything I've encountered at any other medical facility. Their "medical staff" is completely incompetent and most of their nurses cannot even understand simple English... Lower Bucks needs to be investigated and inevitably shut down!!! read more

My experience is ongoing but am deeply concerned about a current ICU patient's care. My loved one is required to wear a BiPAP machine. When my wife went to visit her mother today, she noticed mom in complete distress; she appeared to be choking, face swollen. When approached, the attending nurse dismissed my wife's concern as agitation. Eventually, multiple attendees came by (students?) trying to explain to my wife that her mother was required to wear the BiPAP. My wife was not protesting the premise, but AT THIS MOMENT, her mom was choking! Then she asked the congregated if they were aware her mother wore a partial plate in her mouth. She'd communicated it to an attending nurse last night. They were not aware, and hurriedly took the mask off to eventually discover mom was choking on mucus. We are not happy with the care level and seeming lack of attention to critical detail. read more

On 4/2/25 my husband was brought to LBH ER by rescue squad he was having a heart attack. The staff from security to nursing, doctors, er techs, unit secretary were so amazing it was impressive. They had him over to cardiac cath lab in record time. Everything ran like a well - oiled machine. I was 302 to the behavior depart out of spite. The lenape valley therapist on hand agreed that no further care would be needed. The er doctor who I only saw for 30 seconds sent me to the ward anyway. They don't offer no help besides pills. You see you shrink every morning for 30 seconds, case worker only 2x in a 6 day period. I had no idea what the heck was going on. No therapist on hand beside 2 1 hour group activity. The rest of the time you are left just doing nothing. It felt like a holding cell. I would say if you need your meds regulated then it's what you need. But other than meds stay away from this. Have serious PTSD from the whole nightmare. read more

They are now a teaching hospital but there is a total lack of supervision over the students. They wrote the wrong orders in my case and missed two days of anticoagulant therapy and backed out of every conversation about it. The students have no knowledge base yet no desire to learn anything either it seems. The nursing staff never answers patient calls, when they do they say they will be right there. However whether or not they follow through with their action is another story. Nursing needs a lot of work in terms of patient communication and planning. read more

This ER is sooooooo slow. I went in at 5 AM and was one of the only people there but it didn't matter. The staff has no urgency. I was waiting for test results and stood outside of my room trying to get someone's attention and the staff behind the counter was busy talking to each other. Then 7 AM is when shifts change and they don't even tell you they are leaving and make sure you know who is taking over your case. We was amazing. The staff were so nice. They answered all my questions. After I got admitted things changed. Was there for a specific evaluation and was lied to n discharge before I talked the right person. So I went there for help and have brought the people who know me too.. no w they want to do the hole admission process again cause doctors I need were not there. Great Staff!! I just moved here and took my 9days old son to the emergency room.... the nurses and doctor moved so quickly to make sure my baby was ok. they did everything to make me not worry and understand that it's ok to be concerned and wanting to get a check up on my baby. there was a super awesome nurse who g me so much information which is super helpful! You would be better off following advice from the medical shaman on social media than checking into this pit. They take your belongings, give them to other patients, then tell you that "You didn't ax the right questions." Ax. Point out your nametag or mailing label with your name on said belongings? Then you're noncompliant. Express disgust at the bugs crawling on the floors and window? Locked into your room. For your own good, of course. I could go on and on and ON. The Physical Therapy Outpatient department at Lower Bucks Hospital is phenomenal! Everyone in the physical therapy department from the scheduler to the physical therapy assistants are so friendly, yet professional. My therapist is Bob and my sister's therapist is Jay. They are so knowledgeable and skilled, teaching us while providing excellent care. I went to another physical therapy facility after my knee replacement but they did not provide one on one therapy and my recovery suffered. I had a different therapist every time I went so there was no consistency or knowledge of my limitations or strengths and I did not progress. I was very behind because of the facility's negligence. I went to the physical therapy department at Lower Bucks Hospital where I get hands on therapy by the same therapist and also receive massages for my stiff knee and weak quadriceps muscles and supervised exercises. I have already improved greatly. My sister goes here to for therapy for her knees and hips in preparation for knee replacement surgery. I need my other knee replaced and I now know where I will be going for therapy. We feel so lucky to have found them and I want other people to know this too! Finding a good therapist is half the battle. Bob and Jay are the best!!! read more

My recent experiences at LBH have been wonderful. Very caring and courteous nurses, staff and doctors.

The worst hospital I've ever seen. Even the employees call it "Lower Sucks Hospital". I had a few visits for myself and familly over the years and it, is always a "shit show". The registration people have the empathy of a slug (no offense to slugs), one of the registration clerks about a year ago looked like she had just stepped out of a gang with her prison tattoos and certainly looked the part, )an affirmative action hire gone wild I assume). When they finally get to you after you've been sitting in one of the examining rooms for an ungodly amount of time, you will be treated with a completely different level of care depending on which physician you get on which day. Keep in mind I didn't say how the particular physician practices medicine, I am talking about the level/quality of care it varies wildly. One of the doctors believed that if your heart is pounding and you're having extreme anxiety (panic) that giving you some Ativan (it's like Xanex etc. and exceedingly common) to calm you down is a good idea. In my situation I wash terrified that I was in the process of dying from a heart attack. The more anxious I got, the worse it necsme, it was self perpetuating because more adrenaline kept releasing. He gave me the Ativan and my body was able to calm down, I'm didn't about for this drug in particular... whatever would've worked would have been fine. With regards to the same situation about six months later, the doctor felt that Ativan (which I mentioned because it come to terrifying situation six months earlier) is a of "drug abuse" and you should just simply suffer. Basically it doesn't matter to her how terrified you are, how fast your heart is beating and how much adrenaline is pumping anxiety/shear panic is not worth treating. The lack of empathy and lack of professionalism that some of this place up. If they clean up their act I will update this review. read more

I recently just moved to Bucks County. I came to Lower Bucks Hospital for the first time. The staff there was so nice, professional, and they actually cared. The women who checked me in her name was Tamara she was ABSOLUTELY an angel. She was so kind and patient. She took the time to be personable with me. Since it was my first time she even showed me where to go. Now a days it's rare to find staff that is so nice, genuine and honestly ready to help. I'm so glad I found this hospital and I'm so grateful for the amazing staff. read more

My family member came in with fluid around her gallbladder severe pain. This garbage hospital sent her home because they "couldn't do anything" and couldn't figure it out. This is the worst hospital in PA, I have no idea how they are still operating. I've always heard it's a terrible place & now I got to experience it. I highly recommend no one ever uses this hospital. Zero stars if I could. We took her to St. Mary's who did tests and admitted her immediately. Thankfully they are competent. read more

While the care may be great by the staff of the emergency department and ICU, great providers there, draconian mandates regarding visitation are ridiculous and disconcerting. Not, being able to visit a loved one in the ICU with no evidence of covid, if, a visit is "allowed", it's under special permission of the director, only for 15 mins. So much for masks and vaccines. If masks worked, there would be no issue, that's that the government and news tell us, right? Especially when other hospitals in the region are allowing unlimited visitation, granted, it's one family member, but, at least you don't have to beg the almighty director to see your loved one. Science or misguided policy based on preventing lawsuits and saving jobs..... read more

I read all the negative reviews and I can't agree with any of them. As a Dr. McGinn inpatient on 4E I was treated with respect, compassion and a genuine desire of the staff to make me comfortable. From my entry through patient services, to pre anesthesia, to the OR and ultimately the floors, no one acted less than 100% professional. My stay should have been difficult, but it was optimized by dedicated nurses, the friendliest of nursing aides, cleaning crews, dietary services etc etc etc. As a physician, I have had the misfortune to experience dirty facilities and rude staff. That was not the case here and any patient of Dr. McGinn who has any concerns should set them aside with the confidence that Lower Bucks Hospital is very tuned in and ultra attentive to your medical and personal needs. read more

I spent several hours in the ER a few months ago and for the most part, had a great experience in the hospital itself. The radiology tech and the nurse who tended to me in my room were excellent and made me feel well cared for. This hospital's billing department, however, would get negative stars if I could give them. Even though LBH is in network with my insurance, and even though my explanation of benefits explains that no further charges are to be billed to me after my copay, I still received a $12,000 bill for my stay. The issue has not been resolved for over a month of my insurance company assuring me I do not owe the money and three different answers from people at Lower Bucks' billing department. I've been told they only need a few days to adjust my claim and told my insurance company has rejected the claim (which made my insurance rep laugh when I called them and place a call on my behalf, which STILL did not resolve the issue). I've been told it would be resolved in a couple of days, then told to give it two weeks, THEN told they don't know when it will be resolved, so this outrageous $12K bill that my insurance lists as non-billable is just hanging over my head. EDIT: I do appreciate the effort that was made after I posted this review to resolve the matter quickly. read more

For a small local hospital, lower bucks is pretty good. They were recent purchased by prime health system ( joins roxborough & 1 other hospital in philly region ) Recently I was admitted there and got a 1st hand view of how they work & I was pleased with the care & honesty. Rare today. The staff does almost anything humanly possible that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Their diagnostics are equal to other hospital's plus they have done a massive renovation throughout the hospital that makes it even better. Close to home, not overly busy, good place. read more

I was in the mental ward back in March and they had to take four tubes of blood, before my arm could heal about 30 mins later they took my blood pressure on the same arm and it left a nasty deep purple bruise that remained for 2 months. I could barely bend my arm. read more

I have been admitted, and also been in ER, and did testing [sleep study] at Lower Bucks and I have to say every experience was great. The nurses are some of the best I have been around. Being a former NYer I was use to the in and out, no talk, anything you ask is a bother. WELL, in Lower Bucks the nurses were TOP NOTCH. Attentive, caring, made me feel welcome and positive of a good outcome of my stay. The doctors were OK. Same as I find everywhere. I really prefer this hospital over the others in area. read more

Extremely unprofessional... when I called to make an appointment I was immediately met with a raised voice and being told "We will NOT see you without a physical paper signed by a doctor" which would have be one thing is they didn't have an attitude about it. I called 87th medical, they said they just need the referral, faxed it to them, we called today and was met with 2 people Stephanie and Christine who both had an attitude, raising their voices, telling us in a very unprofessional way "What's the problem here? We have a problem, it's that you aren't understanding, not me." At one point they said "don't worry I have you on speaker" with the other person chiming in in the background being loud and unprofessional. They then said "I don't know why you don't understand this or how they do it there at 87th but there's nothing special about you or anyone else it's the same process with everyone" I said they're being very unprofessional and their tone is why we think so and they claimed repeatedly WITH the tone in mention that they don't have an attitude or a tone and then said unprofessionally "How about this why don't you talk to my supervisor they'll tell you the same thing" then we asked for their name and number, they said you have it it's the one you called, then gave their names and then abruptly transferred us to their supervisors voicemail. I absolutely WILL NOT be going there. The service must certainly match their attitudes. read more

Lower Bucks is a joke. I had surgery there Sunday. Trying to get any pain meds in a timely manner was worse then pulling teeth and mist of the bed aide manner is awful. I also requested for a FEMALE nurse to check my catheter and was rolled over by a male who then proceeded to wipe my ass. I just tried to call and get my prescription for physical therapy filled and the girl on the phone was EXTREMELY rude and hung up on me when i asked her to hokd on so i ciuld quiet down my nieces and nephews so i could hear her. Worse hospital/customer service in the area. I highly recommend anyone looking to choose a different hospital read more

ER is a disgrace!! I went in with chest pain and pain in the left lung area 2 days after being diagnosed with pneumonia. I had to wait 30 minutes to be registered. The waiting room was practically empty and the registering nurse was on her personal cell phone and told me to wait. And I just gave up and left after sitting for over an hour waiting to see the triage nurse. Very unprofessional staff. They gave no indication of when the triage nurse would even be available. And again I went in with chest pain shortness of breath and pain in my left lung area and made them aware of the fact that I had pneumonia. If thats not an emergency I don't know what is. A nurse came out and made an announcement that nobody would be called back anytime soon because other people were more critical. Long story short I will never return to this hospital again! read more

My mom went here in an ambulance after a horrible car accident and they took her to the waiting room and made here wait in a wheelchair. The doctor never came in and my 80 year old grandmother had to walk her out after they discharged her the same day she went in. They didn't even check if she had head trauma when she was complaining of a headache and chest pains. I wouldn't even give it one star but I have no other choice. read more

Avoid this hospital if at all possible! Do not go here unless you want to be forgotten. I went to the ER with a suspected heart attack. I was out in an ER bed, given some tests and told they'd be back in a bit to take more blood. Hours later nobody came back. They had forgotten I was there. Eventually they told me that instead of admitting me they would schedule a stress test for a day later as an outpatient procedure. I arrived just now for this stress test and am told they can not perform it because they do not have a script for it from a doctor. This place is way too disorganized. It scares me to think what this would mean if I was truly in dire need of care. read more

If you want quality service, you should probably avoid this hospital. I wound up spending three nights here after surgery and was less than pleased. The food was cruddy (though, it is hospital food), the place smells funky, the nurses don't show up when buzzed, or at regular intervals, and I had at least half a dozen bruises along my left arm because they couldn't find a vein... And they still couldn't set up an IV. The staff was nice, most nurses are, but very inept at the most basic things. Additionally, the place will price gouge you. When I first contacted them, they were under the impression I did not have insurance and quoted me a cost in the range of $5,000. After surgery, and finding out I was insured and the procedure covered, the cost spiked to $56,000. After adjustments, I wound up paying substantially MORE than if I was uninsured. This shit is crazy. Then, if this fuck-up on their part was not bad enough, they wanted me to pay my portion of the cost overnight and refused to work with me on any form of payment plan that didn't immediately get them the money. Cause yes, everyone has an exorbitant amount of money laying around. Avoid this place if you can. From my experience, you're better just waiting an illness/injury out than going to this place. read more

I came in our Saturday for pneumonia and was admitted. I thought I was going to be taken care of but instead the nurses act like you're bothering them. Asking for some Motrin when you have an antibiotic induced migraine should not be a big deal. I asked for a box of tissues 2 hours ago and have not seen 1 tissue. The other patient who shared the room with me was in dire pain last night and it took 45 minutes for someone to even come in to the room after she called for help. Then once the nurse did come in she minimized the patient's pain and basically told her she couldn't help her. Eventually she agreed to contact the Dr and he came in. The night before that all of the staff seemed to disappear and somebody in another room was calling for help. When they returned 20 minutes later the nurse went in the room and said "what's up?" The patient said "where have you been? I could have been dead by now" to which the nurse replied "well then I guess you wouldn't need me anymore". So rude and unprofessional. Never coming here again. I will die before I'll be treated here again. read more

The worst hospital. One staff member in the psych ward told my friend he was going to hell because he is gay. The other floors are empty corridors where there is no sign of life. This place is as bad, as it gets, especially in the psych ward where all patients are thrown together, drug abusers with people who are suffering a crisis. Indifferent staff with 2 terrible doctors.
