Wimberg Funeral Home - Wimberg Funeral Home - Galloway

Wimberg Funeral Home

My 82 year old dad recently passed away in FL but his home is in Galloway. I flew to FL to help my…read moremom. His body was in the hospital morgue. I had no idea what to do. I made one call to Wimberg's in Galloway, and EVERYTHING was taken care of. I mean EVERYTHING. All in one call to a kind person named John Scull who answered the phone. I didn't even have to be transferred to anyone. My dad's wishes were for a traditional funeral. Wimberg's coordinated with a FL funeral home transport my dad from the hospital and to do the embalming. Wimberg's sent me a flight itinerary for my dad to fly into Philly where Wimberg's brought him to Galloway. My mom and I had one appointment at the Galloway location to make the coffin and prayer card selections. I was able to write the obituary, but Wimberg's had it placed in the newspapers we requested. My dad was religious but not practicing. Wimberg's arranged for a local priest to say a prayer. My dad was a veteran, and Wimberg's has a veteran on staff who coordinated a beautiful and touching "Last Salute" from the local veterans club at the Four Seasons community where my dad lived. I admittedly get OCD over photo projects. I was taking too long going through my parents photo collection to print out collages and posters from CVS to display during the funeral. Wimberg's kept encouraging me to send them the photos so they could make a presentation to run during the funeral. They kept assuring me they had good software that would build the presentation quickly. I dropped off a flash drive of what seemed like hundreds of photos probably the morning of the funeral. They had the presentation ready to go by the start of the afternoon funeral, and it was perfect. The day of the funeral, they helped me by having tons of easels for all of my crazy photo projects. They ordered and delivered the death certificates for me. My dad wanted to be buried at the local veterans cemetery. Wimberg's has a great relationship with the cemetery and found out for me that my dad had pre-registered him and my mom already. The burial was perfect too. After the funeral, they give you a tote bag with the guest book, flower cards, cards from the guests, DVDs of the photo presentation, a list of things to get done, blank thank you cards, laminated copies of the obituary. This was so helpful because you are in a daze during the funeral and having everything in one place was so very helpful. I can't emphasize enough how professional and kind every staff member is at Wimberg's. Thank you John, Nancy, Connie, Dave and seriously everyone else. Every detail was perfect, and I appreciate all of the challenges they solved for my family.

If you want a respectful experience, DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS. My grandmother passed…read morerecently and my immediate family went to go identify her body at the funeral home. We were greeted by Ryan, who mispronounced our last name four different times in four different ways. I started speculating if he was antisemetic considering the name was written down in front of him. We later saw my grandmothers body, which was prepared beautifully. We grieved and cried over her casket but were interrupted by Steve, who cleared his throat and began checking his watch in the doorway. He told us we needed to leave by 3 but at that time it was roughly 2:45. Steve also spoke at her funeral yesterday and it was a huge embarrassment to us all. During the readings, his phone went off a number of times, the ringtones varied from wind chimes to a clowns horn honking and he made absolutely no effort to suppress them. He should have apologized in that moment but instead struggled to turn off his own phone and ultimately gave up and rushed through the ceremony with ringtone interruptions. He also mumbled his way through the mourners kaddish and sped through it so no one could keep up. As I stood over my grandmother's grave, crying and saying goodbye, Steve thought that was a great enough time to tell everyone to line up and leave. There should have been absolutely no rush. He interrupted so many emotional moments with complete disregard for the families feelings. Steve, if you happen to read this review, let this be your sign that you need to retire.

Dear Fellow Neighbors, I didn't have the opportunity to…read moretalk with Eileen, but I did have the opportunity to meet and talk with Steve Collins. He listened, and he was more than understanding what my brother, sister, and I were expecting. If you and your family want a traditional Jewish funeral, you should contact Roth, Goldstein. We used this funeral home for my husband's uncle. They did an excellent job with his hair and…read moremakeup. He looked sleep. Im Rating them a 1 star for a number of reasons. The main one is They had no staffed pall barriers. During the funeral they asked if the men who were attending the service could help out. I understand this is a family business but the two young ladies can't carry a casket and shouldn't be expected to carry out all the services.. Stop being cheap and hire some men. Most of the men who attended the service were disabled. As we were leaving and heading to the grave site. The hearse driver started beeping the horn non stop. She layer on the horn all the way to the cemetery. When we arrived at the cemetery we were met by the owner who was driving her Mercedes truck. I asked if she was the owner she said yes. I then asked why they had no male workers. She first said they have male staff but they rather do other jobs. Then she said the state of NJ gives you a choice. You can get your family members and save the money or you can pay 25 dollars per pall barriers to the funeral home. No one offered this service because we would have paid the money. Spend the money on your business. People are grieving the may forget some details. That's what you are here for. Why did you come to the grave site. You did nothing. You didn't have a person or police officer to stop traffic and lead the cars. Shame on you. The other thing is the place is very outdated and old. We are from out of town so we didn't know alot about this place. The owner should know you have to spend money to name money.

The contractee ordered X amount of death certificates and only received one due to the funeral home giving them away to another family member who was not the contracted client. As discussed, all cards that would be received at the funeral services would be held for the contracted client, once called to gather the collected cards or anything that was left for the family, Dawn said that they were given to a family member along with the death certificates. As an end result, the contracted paid for more than one death certificate and only received on Out of the seven ordered. I think the funeral home should have replaced all copies of what the client ordered, and they didn't. in the future, i would not return to do business with this funeral home since they don't follow a legal contract
