Saw Pretty Woman the musical today. The cast was amazing- very talented. Seating is tight, especially with everyone wearing winter coats- folding chairs on the floor. They have a small concession area with beverages and snacks. Decent parking in the area and traffic wasn't bad after the show- easy in and out. Good place for a musical or concert- sound system was very good. read more

Probably the most disappointing concert ever. Saw Celtic Women last December. While the music was great the ambience was seriously lacking. Patrons either talking or constantly leaving and returning. The ushers were useless as they couldn't accurately direct us to our seats. I was never at a concert where so many people actually left and didn't return. Do not go there. read more

Don't but tickets from crooks. They postpone your concert (Righteous Brothers) and give you a new date that doesn't work and just keep your money. They've postponed multiple times and can't refund or stick to the date. They blame the third party Spectacle Live and won't help. We are out $450 for tickets and fees for nothing. The event is switched from November to May when we can't go and they do not care. They are robbing senior citizens and pretending to have their hands tied. read more

My second time in the city of Lowell was to attend a concert at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. It isn't a huge space, so even in our seats in the 2nd to last row in the balcony wasn't all that far away from the stage in the rounded room. The sound was fine as well. Bathrooms were located in the basement and moved at a pretty decent clip pre-show. Parking is street parking or a paid lot parking a walk away. If you can help it, avoid driving past the auditorium as the policeman manning the crosswalk blocked us for several minutes while allowing pedestrians to cross and the opposite side of the road to drive along in turns. Excellent acoustics; great room for New England golden gloves. The security contractor is basically a para military force. Treating everyone like criminals and setting a very unpleasant tone. Making people stash their belongings outside and refusing to check coats. Completely undignified way to treat both patrons. Turned a 5 star old school venue into 1 Star at best. Last week I saw STOMP (for the 5th time- dork, I know) here and really enjoyed the experience. Having been to the show before and paid various other orices for tickets, I realized why the tickets were so cheap once we got here. While Lowell Memorial Auditorium is a good venue you can def tell that it is not in a major city or that it has seen a real face lift in quite a few years. Well maybe it has, but the overall state of this place left me confused. The lower level seating (orchestra) was loose. Basically it looked like they took up theater seating, in sets of four, and used old equipment. The seats are even labeled with mailing label stickers. So I just warn you that the seating situation is a bit odd for a theater, however that might make it's reconfigurable nature positive for something else. I'll be back for other shows since they do get a good variety here for a good price. read more

I saw Anthony Bourdain at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium tonight. While the building was old, charming and beautiful and the venue small so you got a good view of the stage from any seat, the acoustics from the balcony were terrible. While I could hear Anthony's very recognizable voice, I couldn't make out his actual words and I sat there in jealousy as the people down below clapped and laughed at his no doubt witty remarks. Luckily, the show was not sold out, so when we went to leave (I love Tony but I didn't want to sit jealously through 2 hours of hearing others being entertained) the staff said we could take one of the empty seats downstairs at the back of the orchestra, which I thought was very accomodating of them and rescued the rest of our evening. From there, the sound was perfect and we enjoyed the rest of the show. I would return to this venue, but only if I could get orchestra/floor seats. I won't chance the balcony again. read more

Beautiful venue, just within walking distance to some great places to eat. Ventured there with my fiance to see Louis CK. The ushers were very helpful when I realized I had purchased two tickets in the same row with the seats right next to each other, but in different sections. I'm such an idiot sometimes! They directed us to the box office, where the gentleman listened, apologized, and relocated us to an even better section! So amazing. I can't wait to go back. read more

Some friends and I went to see Jeff Dunham a few weekends ago at the Lowell Auditorium. It seemed that almost every seat in the house would have a good view without feeling like you are too far from the stage. The staff was unusually friendly and seemed to all enjoy being there and ready to help! If you are a drinker, be prepared for some long lines and lots of choices. They have full bar options and more beer choices then some of the bars I visit. The only issue we had during our visit was parking. Getting into the garage was way to easy and cheap. Getting out? Not so much. We sat at a complete stand still for at least 45 minutes in the garage. I would probably park a few blocks away and save myself some time after the show. read more

Worst venue I have ever been too! Just spent more time waiting in the cold than at the actual concert. They have 3 entrance doors but didn't allow people through the other 2 doors until 1hr after the concert started. They didn't state that you aren't allowed to even have vapes on you. So they offered me a choice to either throw away my $120 vape or go put it in my car and wait another hour in line. Cop suggested I go stash in the bushes like it was a crackpipe! All staff had attitudes towards anyone that came in through the doors. Than because of time constraints Kodak only did a 40min set! Was supposed to start at 8pm and he didn't start until 9:20pm! He couldn't even start the show because everyone was outside! If I would have known this stuff I would have never gone to this place! read more

You can sit anywhere in this place and have a great view. I was in the back row of the balcony and saw the event perfectly fine. Would of gave more stars if they updated number of restrooms. Also not many choices for food. Homemade pizza, hotdogs, popcorn, and pretzel. Other than that this auditorium is a pretty good for events. read more

I have worked on the sound crew a lot of venues in New England, and I'm very impressed with the changes made here over the last few months. They've installed a half a mil in new sound equipment now flown above the front rows giving a fuller sound to any performance. If you haven't been here before, it's a great size venue, and facility. Despite the lack of parking, this a perfect place for events too small for the DCU center, and too big for the palladium. read more

Went here to see a concert last night. The venue itself is gorgeous, but I couldn't believe how unorganized it was. The staff had no idea what they were doing, and it showed. There was a meet and greet after the show, and not one of the staff members knew about it or had any idea where to tell people to line up. I was in row Y on the floor, and people kept walking in the aisle, blocking my view, throughout most of the show. It was made worse by the ushers' inability to find the correct seats. The seat numbers are very unclear and can only be seen when the seats are up. Like others have said, expect to spend a nice chunk of change on concessions... $5 for a small box of popcorn?! $10 for a beer?! Overall, concert was good, but venue left much to be desired. read more

Never again. I've enjoyed LMA shows for years and the venue itself is very nice but the last one was just that, my last. I paid $60 to join my family in the balcony for Le Grand Cirque only to have a wayward spotlight that was backlighting the performers blind us constantly throughtout the show. We weren't the only ones inconvenienced either as those before and behind us were heard to be complaining as well. I contacted the venue in March and got absolutely no response. I contacted them again in May to say I would never attend an event there and would make why my Facebook status. That got their interest and I received a reply from the General Manager the following day asking for my phone number "to see if we can make it up to you". I left my phone number and received one call that I missed bc a family member was hospitalized. My follow-ups went unreturned. My family and I won't waste our hard earned money on a business that has no sincere regard for their customers' satisfaction, discomfort or finances and that apparently is LMA. read more

When we arrived at the auditorium I was shocked to discover that I could see significantly less than half the stage and less than half of the video screen from my seat (Balcony, section K, seats 9, 10, and 11). My 6 year-old daughter could see even less due to our height difference. Even when standing she could not see most of the stage. My husband could not see the stage at all. Not only could we not see the performance, but there were numerous production "difficulties" - the mics didn't work, the curtain wouldn't open, the mics didn't work again, the video screen had to be reset. All in all, our experience was disappointing. I do not recommend Lowell Memorial Auditorium to friends, nor will I be returning. read more

I saw BB King here last year. This is a great little auditorium. I would compare it in size to the Orpheum. It might be a little bigger than the orpheum and the acoustics are much better. Anywhere you sit, you will have a pretty good view of the stage. There are a lot of options for parking in downtown lowell, the closest and cheapest is the garage that middlesex community college uses. read more

Came here to see Joseph and the Amazing technicolor dreamcoat play. There was plenty of free street parking as long as you don't mind a brief walk. The place is a basic auditorium, exactly as expected but the seating is a little tough. We had floor seats which apparently isn't stadium seating so you literally can barely see the show especially if there is anything going on low on the stage. They have an amazing balcony and the people there were nice enough to let us move to the balcony when I asked during intermission. Would have been a much better experience had we moved initially. But overall, this was a nice venue, the sound was great, lighting was spot on and the play itself was phenominal. There are also some beautiful restaurants nearby to eat ahead of time. We used a Groupon for the play and it was so simple to use, no issues and we even got there only a few minutes before the start of the play. read more

Lowell Memorial Auditorium is a good place to go for concerts but I didn't like it too much when seeing a show there recently. The floor seating is flat which is what you'd expect for a concert but not for a show where there should be an incline. Also, the floor seating consists of collapsible plastic chairs which you wouldn't mind at a concert because you're mostly on your feet but when sitting for two+ hours, they're not the best and don't give much room in between so plan on being cozy with your neighbors. With that being said, it's still hard to find a bad seat in the place because it's small. They have great shows and the acoustics are pretty good. Great local place to see shows. read more

I saw Buddy Valastro the day after Thanksgiving at 7:30PM. It was supposed to start at 7:30PM and didn't start until about 8:40. Buddy took questions from the audience and talked about family stories, etc. for over an hour. He was a great sport because I would have been red with anger. After all the purpose of his show was to show us techniques in the kitchen. So when the show came on, it was only in black and white. Imagine a Christmas show only in black and white. The poisetta cupcakes, the blue Christmas cake, the wrapped present: all in black and white!! What a waste! The LMA should be ashamed and they should fire the audiovisual employee(s) responsible. read more

I saw NXT Wrestling here. The place is really cool looking from outside and inside. It was surprisingly easy to exit out of as well - and this was a sold out show. No Wi-Fi, mediocre concessions, and some odd quirks like stairs leading down to bathrooms. But it's somewhat old fashioned and charming and there probably isn't a bad seat in the entire arena. Parking garage was a pain to deal with though. read more

I ordered tickets threw them last night for Sesame Street live ! I wanted 4 tickets and somehow ended up with 5 and the one that is nowhere near my seats ! So I immediately called the office and let them know so I could be refunded the one ticket but, still wanted the other 4 . I was told by a women aya that she could not because of the no return policy it's my fault bla bla bla I should have seen the issue before I paid !!! My family's first trip to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium was on Friday Nov ember 23rd to see the Cake Boss show. We were very excited to see the show but as soon as we got there...no one could find out Groupon will call tickets so we had to wait around until 7:30 (when the show was supposed to start). Luckily (?), you had several technical difficulties which delayed the show by almost an hour. But even when the show did start, it was fraught with more technical difficulties. The camera never worked, it was in black and white when it did work and it was extremely awkward. My family and I were enjoyed the show but we were disappointed. read more

The theater is good, most seats are good. Parking is a challenge, get there early. Also, be ready for a nasty service charge when you buy your ticket. Service charges, handling fees, and a "restoration fee" adds another $12.75 to your ticket cost if your ticket is over a certain amount. read more

I ordered tickets to the Price is Right event. First I elected to download the tickets, never happened. I called and was told they would email them to me, never happened. Called again and was told they would mail them to me. I then put it out of my mind until I received the tickets the DAY AFTER the event. I called and spoke with Jen Shappel, supposedly the box office manager and she told me, "We're not responsible for the U.S. mail." That was the customer service I received. read more

Recently I was at the Auditorium for my daughters dance competition, I've been going to this particular venue for quite a few years as my daughter is very dedicated to her dance. I have never had a problem with the building and staff until recently. Not only are we not able to bring in our own food or drinks (which means I can't grab a coffee for myself on the way for the 6 am start of dance), but the prices of everything have gone up dramatically. I understand that prices do need to go up, but you mean to tell me that the same size box of popcorn is now $4 instead of the $2 I paid last year, and it isn't even full and to top it off the popcorn was stale! The staff that was there last year were friendly and always had a smile on their face despite having a long day, we were always able to sympathize with one another because we too had a long day. This year, it seems like everyone is just focused on making a sale, not once did they ask my daughter how she did in her dance--EVERY TIME I went to the stand it was a rush, I felt like I was in an assembly line and just another dollar sign to them. A small older woman would pound on the counter and scream out to us "NEXT", only to then call us "hun" and "babe" which I found to be juvenile and almost condescending. It was a total confusion as to where to pay and where to order. It is absolutely ridiculous that I am FORCED to buy from the concession booth--as if I don't spend enough money as it is with all of the costumes and the competition itself. This is just another thing for me to stress about over the weekend. Its sad to see how much has changed and not for the better, it is scary to think what the rest of this season will bring as just the beginning has been a complete disaster. read more

I saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat here last night. Overall, I had a great experience. Parking is easy, ticket prices are much better than what I'd pay for the same show in Boston, and the show itself was great. My one and only problem with this theatre is the floor seating. While I've been to this venue several times, this was my first experience toward the back of the floor seating. We actually moved to the balcony minutes before the show began because we couldn't see the stage at all. Seriously, the people in front of us completely blocked our view. Apparently, we weren't the only people to feel this way, as dozens of folks vacated the floor for the balcony. I also found the new seats on the floor to be way too small, especially in winter when you're wearing thicker clothes. The balcony seats are much roomier, and they're generally less expensive. We were lucky that the balcony wasn't sold out; we might have been stuck in our more expensive yet not so great seats if it were a sold out show. I'll definitely return to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium for future shows, but I'll sit up front or in the balcony next time. read more
