We walked the entire length of the river with its mineral fountains, alternately partaking of the waters and examining restaurant menus in search of this holy grail. We had pretty much resigned ourselves to a basic nondescript meal near our apartment, when we came across this establishment, with a menu that went on for pages. One of these pages even mentioned steak tartare! So in we went and were immediately seated in the downstairs dining area between a raucous group of local women and a table of card-playing men. We ordered a dish of the aforementioned raw beef and sundry other appetizers, plus a main course for each member of a family with wildly-diverging tastes. All got what we wanted, a good time was had, and the service was excellent. Although we were inside, there is also outdoor seating as this is located in a pedestrian-only zone.

I ordered the chicken wings ... yes, chicken wings . They melted off the bone and the sauce on the side was perfect!! I'd come back in a heartbeat, but unfortunately I will be on to my next stop. Service is excellent and so many locals eat here you know everything's gotta be good. Everyone working here greeted the locals like family . Very rare & non-touristy. Well worth the climb from downtown.

Who doesn't like a restaurant that has its own brewery?!?!…read more I saw two recent reviews here on Yelp and the low ratings. My food, and the food of my wife and friends, was pretty damn good. As for service, I understand what they're saying. My wife is Slovak and my friends Czech, so I didn't have to deal with the language barrier but a couple of the waiters looked like they just sucked on lemons. Sure, you could say that they were rude but I think this behavior is reserved for tourists. For some reason they don't seem to like tourists. Pathetic, I know. My advice is to just have a few of the delicious draft beers, order some chunks of hearty meat and kill the waiters with kindness laced with a bit of sarcasm. Don't let sad people spoil your experience.
