The man is a fantastic doctor. He tends to err on the safe side of things, which, at a high risk pregnancy center...I don't blame him!!! The ladies at the front desk are amazing. I think at first, they were a little cold but once you got to know them (like me who went 3x a week for practically my entire pregnancy!) they are actually very sweet and caring. Quite honestly, I don't blame them for being that way at first, they are swamped with pregnant people all the time. I mean the waiting room is always packed, and lets face it, pregnant people get irritated rather quickly. Sadly, you don't get to see Dr. Atlas every visit. He has many other doctors nurses and sonographers working for him that do all the leg work, he basically looks things over and tells you if everything is OK. Since I got to know him so well, he came in and checked on me if he wasn't very busy, even if everything was fine. He worked very closely with my OBGYN (http://www.yelp.com/biz/hoffman-and-associates-baltimore#hrid:VTohqOA-OXFkpupsUs7j3w/src:self) which I really like. I didn't have to repeat things and I was never concerned that they didn't get reports. One thing that I really like about this place is that if you're really sweet to the sonographers and you're in the right room (only a few of them have the right equipment to do this), they will give you a 3D sonogram of the baby (if they have time)! Usually you have to go to a separate place for that and pay $100+ so, that's pretty awesome of them. These people hold a special place in my heart, they made having my children possible and made it a great experience even though I was having a difficult time. When I was admitted to the hospital for delivery, both times Dr. Atlas came to my room, checked on me and just sat and talked on his break like we were friends. The nurses called upstairs to ask all about the babies. They're just good people and they know what they're doing! I was going to write I'd trust them with my life, but I actually did trust them with my life, and the lives of my children, and they went above and beyond!

I interviewed three doulas and immediately knew Elissa was the one. She told me to think things over and get back to her on my decision for a doula, however my mind was really made up on the spot. First of all, she has a calming aura about her that makes you feel calm. She is so sincere and you feel like she is speaking and trying to help you from her heart, no judgment. After talking to her for a short while, I realized this was not just business for her, it is a calling. She listens keenly to you and customizes the process to your need. She was with me every step of the way up to birth and postpartum today. During the birthing process she made all the difference. She was so calming and explained things every step of the way. Postpartum she was always there immediately after and still is today, 6 months later. I can always call her or see her to discuss anything. She even helped us put our baby gear together because we had no clue. When she thought I was staying in the house too much and was afraid to venture out with the baby, she came by to try to get me out and acclimated to my new life. Also their location can be a bit tricky to find but the main door is off Keswick Rd (and is stroller friendly). Walk in past the dress shop and bare to the right. That way you end up inadvertently meeting the different doulas. We went with Cara. She has a ton of experience and super chill vibe. Our hospital was not allowing extra visitors due to COVID so we signed up for a virtual doula service. She met with us a few times before the birth to review questions, birth plan, and provide support. She was also available via email for random questions that came up in between. The day of my labor I reached out to her as needed and she guided me through some of the decisions we had to make. Her support made it so that I could better advocate for myself and my baby during my labor. She was 100% supportive of all my decisions and in the end I ended up having a beautiful and quick birth. I am so happy we got a doula and recommend it to anyone no matter what type of brith you are planning on having. I found the groups to be more helpful towards the beginning of my pregnancy, especially as it was a time that COVID was just ramping up. The only issue is that the people in group vary from week to week. I think it would be nice to be able to connect with the same group from week to week so there is some continuity.
