Flying out of Denver's Terminal B, it was nice to find this trendy bar so close to our gate. We were greeted right away and got our drinks quickly, which was a great start. We also ordered the avocado toast, and while it was pretty tasty, it took much longer than expected to arrive--so we had to rush to eat before heading to our flight. I later realized the bartender was also making the food, which explains the wait. I don't blame her, but for an airport, the service really should be quicker--maybe having more than one person working would help. That said, she was friendly and as efficient as possible, given the situation. The drinks were decent, and the food was good. Would I stop by again? Yes, but next time, I'd make sure to mention how much time I have before my flight. read more

Came here on a long layover and experienced some of the poorest service I have had in a while. I entered on the far end (away from the bar) and wasn't sure if I just grabbed a table or had to be seated since there was no sign or directions. There was another woman who entered before me and eventually sat down at a table. The waitress (shorter blonde) was in the area so I wasn't sure if she had directed her or not. After the waitress finished at her tables in the area while not acknowledging me, I asked her the process, she told me yes just grab a table. There were only high tables open and a few short tables that were almost done. I decided after a few minutes I didn't want to wait for a short table so I decided to leave but as i was halfway around the other side I saw 2 short tables getting up to leave so came around and entered from the bar side. I stood for a few minutes by the recently vacated tables waiting for them to clear it. The shorter blonde finally came and cleared the old drinks and put down a new napkin but did not wipe the table. She wanted my order but since I had not looked at the menu or even sat down for that matter I was not ready. A taller brunette waitress was wiping the 2 other tables so I assumed she would come wipe mine too, she did not, just went back behind the bar. I sat down, looked at the menu and waited a few minutes. The tall brunette came to take my order, I asked her to wipe the table, she said ok and took my order and walked away. Minutes passed and she came back with a glass of water and I again asked her to wipe the table. She said "Oh, I thought you told me the other girl wiped your table?" I said, " No, why would I announce that to you? I specifically asked you to wipe it because the other waitress cleared it but did not clean it." She then proceeds to say loudly OK, my goodness as she is walking away as if I was acting ridiculous or requesting something outrageous. No one wants to eat at a dirty table from a previous guest and politely asking, which is exactly what I did does not warrant any person in the service industry to get smart with or try to make a scene with a customer. A simple sorry about that and wiping the table would have solved the issue but she chose to be ignorant instead and when she left was not grabbing a rag to wipe the table but instead decided to fiddle with things on the bar instead. I gathered my things and left and will not return. If that is the level of cleanliness and service they set as standard, I will pass. I went and spent my money elsewhere with clean tables and a friendly, attentive waitress. read more

For an airport restaurant I was satisfied with the smoked salmon salad that I had. The service here was pretty fast and the staff was super nice. I thought the bar was a good spot to finish up some work before taking off. I forgot to ask for dressing on side, and for those of you that aren't huge fans of heavy dressing like me, definitely get the dressing on the side. My salad was pretty good, but the dressing overpowered a bit and I probably would have enjoyed it more with a lot less of it. Before coming to the Denver Airport, I researched many options before planning to spend some time here before my flight. Their menu looked great, the vibe seemed right, and it was near my gate. Unfortunately, things didn't really go as planned. They have a much smaller website than listed online. The items I came to try (such as an ahi tuna item) have apparently been off the menu for 4 years! Prices are typical for an airport ($17-21 small plates such as burrata). I ordered a wild basin seltzer (they have 4 flavors on the menu), only to find out they just sold the last can. Additionally, their lounge chairs need to be replaced. They look comfy, but they're sadly a little gross and broken (one was wobbly, and the other sank all the way in). Upstairs vantage point and pretty quite! Drinks are serious here! When I say serious I mean seriously GOOD! Concourse B at the Denver airport... what a find. Get off the escalators and look up! It's a long bar with light food and 5 star craft cocktails. I recommend the holiday cocktails right now... they are wonderful! The service is stellar... the location relaxing... and the drinks are out of this world! I'm impressed! Was coming off an early morning flight and had a two hr layover so was looking for a place to get a good lunch. I had read some previous reviews that gave this DIA eatery great reviews. It was early afternoon so I didn't have one of their drinks they are known for but they did have a great selection. I did however ask the waitress what the best thing on the menu was and she said I had to try the burrata plate. I get the appetizer and it was literally heaven on a plate. A soft mound of burrata with a sauce of thick, sweet balsamic vinegar and a couple of slices of warm, crusty, perfectly soft rosemary bread. Each bite was the perfect mixture of sweet, salty, and crunch that you crave. It was one of the best meals ever at an airport and I caught myself literally scraping every last dripping of the wonderful balsamic vinegar with the last bite of bread at the end of the meal. I also had a side of salad to accompany the meal. It was lightly tossed with an olive oil dressing and was a great light accompaniment to the cheese plate. The only downside to some is that because this is considered a bar you have to eat your meal in the lounge area and can't take food to go. If you have an hour or so and end up in Terminal B at DIA you should stop at the Lounge and try this plate of food. You won't regret it! read more

They have dine in, but be advised it is limited and reduced seating! Specializes in drinks and taps, and serves locally owned Colorado whiskey! I love the Shanahan's brand because it genuinely supports a small business and 5280 helps with promoting that. They serve Tommy Knocker's!! This wonderful Colorado Beer Brand is from Idaho Springs!! The original Tommy Knocker's is located there! They serve hot tea, (9 whole options) coffee and espresso, (6 options) bottled water at 4 different options, fizzy drinks (3 options) and even, get this: Breakfast COCKTAILS! 8 options for the morning gin hour. Enjoy tv at the sit down bar, or read the newspaper in the dining area. Bartenders are laid back, cool and knowledgeable on menu. Lounge 5280 is a stylish, upscale bar with a contemporary edge! I really enjoy getting a unique combination of the "Appetizer Plates," for $15.00. With that being said, I enjoy the Triple Cream Brie, because even saying the name sounds delicious. I love anything with Gorgonzola and Tomato Soup! The Tomato Soup is served with their fresh Rosemary Bread. I don't mind paying a little more, if it means I'll be comfortable during a layover here. The mozzarella burrata is a huge hunk of VERY fresh cheese served with toasted tomatoes, balsamic glaze and some more of the wonderful rosemary bread. Took about 20 minutes and was forewarned it would take that 'long' to receive, so appreciated the heads up. Upon receiving, the food itself looked weak... but I will say, I unnecessarily judged. Did a 3 item charcuterie plate - prosciutto was my favorite and the fig jam was nice and sweet. The mozzarella plate had a tasty balsamic drizzle. At the table was a single electrical outlet that was handy for recharging. We sat at the low tables by the railing. Also have high top and bar seating. Lounge 5280 is an attractive, airy, central location within DIA terminal B. It's got almost everything a boy or girl could want: lounge chairs with power plugs, micro brews on tap, big screens for the game, a good wine and cocktail list; they've even got a nice mezzanine view of the terminal B hub. Hard to pick a better location. This is where they first fell short: my burrata app came with decent quality cheese, but the tomatoes weren't fresh, the herbs were wilted, and the rosemary bread was stale. $14 for this; Jeez. But the main issue: The wi-fi signal was surprisingly bad; Such a damn shame with everything else they've got going on; I became so annoyed with all the drops and re-connects that I decided not to linger longer. Note: Lots of useless pics of this place on Yelp - mostly closeups of wine bottles or cocktails. I did my best to add more useful ones. Every time I come through Denver I stop here. I always have the same thing, the little chicken sammich on a little roll that looks like focaccia but isn't and a little bowl of this phenomenal tomato soup. Sounds really boring, but omg it is great and soooooo worth the very little more you will spend here than at the chik fil a or "mexican" or "chinese" restaurants in the middle of the united terminal. In quotes, because if you think that.s mexican or chinese, good luck to you friend. Its centrally located, easy to find, and the bartenders are always very nice. The chairs they have at the short tables are very comfy too. What moar is there to sez, sure they have a variety of beers and booze too, but (and I know this is sacrilege) I don't drink when I fly, usually cause I have to drive at my destination. Sometimes when I travel I want to feel like a high class baller. Lounge 5280 lets me fulfill that dream by crafting up my pre-flight drink of choice... a bloody mary. This is not any ordinary Sunday discount brunch bloody mary, with watered down house mix tomato juice. The bloody mary here has body and full flavor. Get it with an infused jalapeno or bacon vodka, but if you are a traditionalist, they have several different vodkas you can get. I try to arrive a little early to the airport to get one of these. Even if I have a flight at a different terminal. This place is the place to get a drink and do some great people watching. Wow - when I arrived I was about to sit at the bar. The bartender asked me if I was looking for an outlet and when I said yes she told me there are no outlets at the bar and that I should sit at the tables to plug in - she referred to the tables as tip tables - I clarified with her that she meant I had to tip when I sat and ordered there. I put myself through school waitressing and always overtip so I was offended that she told me I had to tip. A little later a man came in, sat at the bar and was looking around for an outlet. The bartender came over to him, asked if he was looking for an outlet and when he said yes she said "there is one over here on this side of the bar" - which is the exact place that I was going to sit at the bar earlier when she told me there was no outlet! OK that is bold as I am clearly within earshot. Also had terrible service at my "tip table" from the waitress. What is it with this place???? Looks like others have had similar experiences. Avoid this place unless you are a wealthy looking white man who the bartender thinks she can get more tip from by flirting with you. read more

What do you do when you land at Denver International Airport and learn that your three-hour layover is extended by a four hour delay? You drink. Normally I would spend time between flights at the smoking lounge, but I quit smoking earlier this year. Lounge 5280 isn't listed on the directory in Concourse B, so I found out about this place when another lounge closed at 10, and one of the employees there recommended it because they are open late. I would have much preferred spending the entire evening here, rather than the first place and its $14 martinis and boring Chili's-like atmosphere. Lounge 5280 is stylish, comfortable and staffed with friendly, attentive people. Their drink menu offers some inventive specialty drinks (Colorado Corpse Reviver anyone?), but I didn't stray from my usual vodka martini ($11), with a Diet Coke inserted every once in a while to ensure that I remained vertical until my flight finally left at nearly 1:00 a.m. You'll find me here for the duration anytime I'm stuck at DEN again. read more

In the B concourse: Nice place to kill time during a layover. I had a 2.5 hour wait between flights and I was happy to find this spot. Free WiFi, outlet under the table to charge electronics, and a very nice drink menu. I give them credit, the custom drink menu had some very intriguing items, not just simple vodka sodas or G&T. Server was friendly and attentive. While I didn't eat, I was extremely happy to kill time here while at DIA. read more

So, I tend to find I'm passing through this airport when I do my annual trip to Montana/Wyoming and this lounge/bar/eatery is an oasis away from the thousands of people running from gate to gate. The servers are very engaging and great conversationalist. The menu is very good with some neat selections, but not too large to weigh one down running to their next flight. If you're in Denver Airport for more than an hour or so, skip the bare bones United Club and relax at Lounge 5280. The seats are incredibly comfortable. Squashy, red, and ergo-designed they are made to lounge in. The tables have power outlets to recharge, and the staff- AMAZING. The menu is small but great. Charcuterie board is ideal for 1-2 people, but they have shareable items and regular fare as well. Alcohol selection is great for a smaller place. Like the food menu it's limited, but what they have is really good. Colorado draft beers, a handful of fun cocktails, and about 2 dozen wines. On the whole, the $50 (including generous tip for the excellent service) was a far greater value than the $59 for a club pass with meager snacks and well-level wine. You don't be disappointed if you park your rear here while at DIA. Although, if I had the munchkins with me I'd probably skip it. Not made for kids. read more

Pre-flight drink of choice for me is the Bloody Mary and Lounge 5280's will not disappoint. The mix is homemade and they come with a variety of garnishes. One is a pickled green bean. They are crafted especially for Lounge 5280 by a nice little old lady. The secret ingredient to their mix that will have you wondering??? Some of that pickled bean juice.
