The staff are very helpful and are able to advise if you have no idea about flowers. I recently ordered some for a colleague at work and requested 'cheerful' flowers and that is exactly how my colleague described what she received! I was also advised to wait a day for delivery to get a much better selection of flowers then I would have for my original choice. The shop is very small meaning there is limited stock on display so it wouldn't be my first choice if I wanted to buy a bunch of flowers but is definitely the place to go if you want something delivered.

As with most such places, the first thing…read morethat hits you when you walk in is the wonderful aroma of fresh flowers -- it can't be beaten! We bought a big bouquet from these people about six months ago and they were very helpful in sorting out what we wanted, and we were very pleased with the flowers we eventually bought. Parking is a bit of an issue -- if you do buy a large bouquet you'll probably have to carry it a fair way back to the car (as we did) -- but I wouldn't let that put you off! All in all we'd certainly go back there.

Tammy's is just a beautiful little florist situated along the main shopping street of Horsforth…read more The difficulty with being a florist anywhere, let alone Leeds, is that there are so many to compete with. To some extent you can rely on local trade but to drum up customers, from further afield, I imagine is a pretty tricky thing. I thing that standing out from the crowd would be the first trick, and Tammy's is one that does this for sure. Not only do they sell all the usual suspects, beautiful pre-arranged bouquets and custom made, but they also sell some gorgeous potted plants. Not so unusual, I hear you say? Well, perhaps not but I haven't told you about the display yet! These aren't just your standard hyacinths stuffed into a plastic brown pot, oh no! You can get little wooden wheelbarrow arrangements, bright pink bowls and (my favourite) tea cup and saucer arrangements! They also had some really cool felt flower pot arrangements too. I was really impressed at how imaginative their window display was and can imagine that a gift of a potted wheelbarrow would be so much nicer than the plain alternative. For some thoughtful gifts Tammy's is worth travelling just a little bit further than the city centre!

You can buy one of the 'off the peg' colourful, seasonal bouquets that are on display, or get the helpful, smiley assistants to make one up to your own specifications. They also stock a variety of potted plants and shrubs that you can take home and plant, although it would be a lot cheaper to make a trip to your local garden centre. For flowers though, prices are about average - more than a garage forecourt, less than a designer florist - and not much to pay for the smile they'll bring to their recipient's face.

She was a few weeks early and so, you can imagine, it was a bit of a shock to us all. Luckily the very next day we were both in a position to be able to go and pay a visit to this newly born bundle of tiny and her Mama so we set off first thing - the drive was about an hour give or take. We got about half way there, I was trying to sort some kind of make-up in the car, when we realised that we hadn't a single gift or card! We had rushed so much to get sorted that we'd neglected to think of this. We decided that the first florists we saw on the way would have to do and I couldn't be more happy that it was here we stopped. Dolce Vita is luckily situated on the main road, so it was plainly visible for us to see on our way, in one of those adorable country set villages outside Leeds and Hull. We nipped in and rushed an explanation of our predicament. The lovely ladies in there, despite in the middle of making up another client's bereavement arrangements, were willing to put something together for us in ten minutes. We gave them our budget, which I will omit just in case my boyfriend's Mum ever sees this (heh heh!), and they set to work. We chose a beautiful pink gift bag/box, a sweet little card and took away a gorgeous arrangement of flowers. I couldn't say all of the kinds that were inside, but it had those beautiful leaves which are like a fuchsia pink, some gorgeous lilies and more. Considering that they were busy and dropped everything for us, and gave us so much for the price that we'd agreed, I couldn't have been more happy! A lovely little florists, with friendly ladies and great arrangements. Done!

This is a very well presented florist right of the main street…read more It's decorated beautifully and there's always plenty of choice. The decorations are stunning but as most florists the prices are very steep for what you get. There is a small selection outside the shop but if I was you I'd get them from inside as the ones outside often get damaged by wind etc. The owner is often about and if she sees you browsing she's there offering helpful advice but knows where to leave you to it if your just looking. They also do orders if your after something special.
