They have some of everything: desserts, snacks, a bakery, fruits and vegetables, wine and alcohol, clothing & household goods, frozen food, meat, dairy with a good selection of cheese, sauces & oils, etc. However, they may not have as many versions of the same item as I might find at another supermarket (e.g., Hofer might have only 1-2 kinds of fresh mozzarella cheese instead of 5-6). Sometimes Hofer sells cheese that I haven't found elsewhere, e.g., Le Bourgeron or Vosges from France. For a few months, Hofer was the only supermarket nearby selling burrata (but this is no longer the case). I especially like buying fruit here -- they have packs of fresh seasonal fruit that are more plentiful and cheaper (e.g., persimmons, plums, gooseberries, cherries.)
