For tourists/cruisers buying expensive product(s) here, make sure the salesperson will give you the actual VAT Tax Refund Form to claim your tax when you leave Marseilles, France or Europe. Google search to know what it looks like. My mom and her friend bought bags worth over EUR2,000+ each and a sunglass at Louis Vuitton, Magasin De Marseille, 24, Rue Grignan location. We told Max, the salesman, that we'll claim VAT tax refund and presented both their passports to show that both are tourists and are not European. He came back with receipts and papers saying we need to show that before we leave Europe to claim VAT. We were on a cruise so on our last port in Barcelona, Spain, we presented the papers given to us. The Customs officer said you were only given the receipts but that is not the actual VAT Tax Refund form they need to issue the 20% tax charged. We were so upset. I called LV Customer Service and the lady said I was not the only one who called about the missing Tax Refund form. I am wondering if this salesperson is in connivance with someone else in claiming these tax refunds because my mom alone paid EUR465 in tax. What a scam! And oh, it took almost an hour for them to be entertained since they were just dressed simply compared to others inside the store. There are a few times in life when you think when your spending 2000$ on a handbag... this time was my worst experience with Louis Vuitton. I'm American visiting here and the women was so unhelpful and spoke the worst English ever. I've been to LV over 10 times and make purchases every time and this was the most rude experience in my life. Everybody else was nice but her. I don't know if it's because I'm American or she didn't understand me but she had no idea what she was doing and made things a lot more difficult. I bet when I walked out of the store with 2000$ bag she insulted me to her coworkers...Get some more friendly employees read more
